Remember back when bungie said that 40% of pvp players will be able to get the claymore? Well, here is the truth so far.
https://m.imgur.com/a/ubaspDe
First pic shows that yesterday we had 502.9k people playing crucible yesterday.
2nd pic shows that only 2,874 players have the claymore.
3rd pic shows 1% of 502k. And that number is 5,020.
Currently, not even 1% of players have the claymore.
I’m one of the less than 1% of players, but even I can see that bungie made a mistake with their predictions of how many people were going to get the claymore.
At first I liked the idea of losing points in glory. It reminded me of the old halo 3 ranking, where you go up for wins, and down for losses. However, the killer is the loss streak.
We’re pretty far into season 3. I wonder if even 1% of players will get the claymore. If bungie thought 40% of players would be able to get the claymore, then they shouldn’t have put in any kind of streak.
EDIT
Did some more math. As it stands right now, only 0.57% of crucible players have the claymore.
EDIT#2
I went through and found out how many people of that 502k crucible players, and looked at how many are actually playing competitive.
There are currently 258,981 players with a glory rank of at least 1. I’m sure that number is higher, if you count the players who play competitive, but can’t get a win. However, that player count, is unknown, so we will go with the number above.
This still shows that only 1.1% of players playing competitive, have the claymore.

18 RepliesOut of that 1.1% of RC owners, 90% are on my friends list. Out of those 90% of friends with RC, only 1.1% says it was worth it. Hence, not worth my time. I just stick to Trials for my comp needs.

The claymore isn't worth the hours of miserable grinding imo
-
2 RepliesMore lies from Bungie. When will the players realise they’re just p#ssing up their backs.
-
Because bungie said that for you to reach rank 5 you need around 5000 points and they said that around 40% of is when you get the claymore , they never said that 40% of people will get it ( as far as I know ), but to get it you need it to be around 40% of the way .

Edited by DeathSando: 6/20/2018 6:46:36 PMHoping that Matchmaking is fixed or at least improved with the July update. Looks like the system that was supposed to keep everyone 50/50 is still keeping most 35% 40% win and the top 15% is win rich. Also if the 50/50 thing is still mostly in place you aren't just playing against the other team you are playing against the matchmaking. I'll probably get more serious about trying it once I get my first Valor max.
-
It’s because the only people playing competitive are really -blam!-ing good players.

1 ReplyI hypothesize that waiting until the end of the season will be an easier grind. Most of the hardcore players will have achieved everything and likely there population will have diminished by then.

2 RepliesEdited by cooljoe757: 6/20/2018 12:17:19 PMI was at 300+ points going into last weekend. Then I went all the way down to 15. I finished with maybe 30. I just couldn’t get many wins. Then I log in yesterday and bungie says, “ Thanks for finishing competitive matches. Here’s some bonus glory points.” Now I have 80 points....uhhh...thanks? Bungie gave me about 50 points. Woohoo!

Would make more sense if there were placement matches

I don't iunderstanf what the 2nd picture is showing

2 RepliesThis actually makes me happy that the top tier players will get the god weapon and also it’s still June I think they meant by the end of the dlc

1 ReplyEdited by Dominator of Oats: 6/20/2018 2:59:16 PMA lot of Warmind has been a disappointment for me. This is one more thing to add to the pile. I have been essentially just been playing the base game with two new public zones with one more public event, and 4 more strikes. Thanks to Bungie for at least adding all crucible maps for everyone. Faction rallies was pretty fun for me, as well.

3 Repliesyou are absolutely right. Bungie created a mess for competitive by locking in a losing streak penalty and removing radar. You make the mode unappealing to play with no radar and downright unrewarding with the loss penalty. Basically, if you have a good run of a few games and get some points - the risk of losing that score by continuing to play dissuades you from playing the game. Unless you run completely stacked, the odds are that you will get nowhere or lose ground. This has made the mode much more sweaty than it ever was - and with so few people getting the chase weapon, you see that the changes broke the mode - not made it better. I posted something earlier about this and got a reply from Bungie. I'd rather see Glory be obtainable with win streaks, but that players get "0" rewards from losing. This would still make the Claymore a season long grind, but it would be doable by most any player that wanted to put in the time playing the mode. And developers like Bungie should want people playing the game mode more not less.

I mean, with how good they've made Gravaton Lance and Vigilance Wing, chasing Redrix's Claymore doesn't really seem all that worthwhile.
-
4 RepliesFascinating!!! Given that the algorithms in use mean that it should be almost impossible to achieve the claymore they would indicate the majority of those getting that far have CHEATED or have an unfair advantage somehow 😉.

2 RepliesEdited by twey_ironside: 6/20/2018 1:42:37 PMI think competitive needs to be reworked completely. Before I had a decent team I would solo queue and would fight about 90% of matches against 4-man teams and would finish about 50% of matches as a 3v4 or 2v4. To get punished because other people quit is completely unfair. Also I tend to get the low level player who can only use blue gear into my team which is a disadvantage. I have the following suggestions: -Allow Rumble as a competitive mode or take individual performance into account. It just feels bad if you are the best player in the lobby but lose because of bad team mates. This would also attract more people again. As an alternative a freelancer playlist would work as well. I know Bungie doesn’t want to split the player base but I think the split already happened with a lot of solo players not playing at all anymore. -Don’t allow under leveled players into the competitive playlist. While some might be good players it’s not hard to get to max level and in my experience none of the blue items guys in my teams did well so far -Player protection: Why does a match even start if the lobby is not. Starting a match of Countdown against a team of 4 with just 3 players is plain dumb. Let everybody wait for another player to join. -An actual ranked system: Why do I even play against people with over 4000 Glory? -Get rid of the losing streak or streaks altogether. It’s just not a big motivator to keep playing. Especially when you actually play well. -Better team composition: I don’t know why Destinytracker is so spot on with the prediction but a lot of times one team has a 70-80% chance to win a match. I have seen 2 teams of 2 get matched together against for solo players or a team of 3 who get the best solo player of the lobby. I think losing a match is not a big deal if you actually had something that felt like a fair match. I also don’t mind to wait longer for a match if it’s fair. -Harsher punishment for quitters. Something like: First offense you lose a small amount of glory; Second offense you lose 500 points; Third offense Glory gets set back to zero. This might sound harsh but it needs to be actual punishment. -Some type of mercy rule. Finishing a game of 3v4, 2v4 or even 1v4 is waste of everybody’s time. If a player quits or gets dc’d the game should offer the option to surrender. The winning team gets full point the losing team won’t get punished as harsh. Finishing the rounds by yourself getting bum rushed by 4 players just to not quit is no fun at all. The rule should apply for full fire teams ofc to not be misused. Sorry for the long post but I feel the comp playlist could be much better.

As it should be.

News flash. It’s not ever yet. The other 39% could be one game away. Lmao

I'm honestly not bothered by it. And you shouldn't be either. When was the last time any of you got killed by that weapon? I'm sure you are too busy smashing your face into the controller for how many times you got killed by graviton and v wing. It's a hard weapon to get, so hard only 1% of the players have it. You either will want to grind for it or you won't. I just think it's wierd to complain about a weapon you probly don't see 95% of the time. I will say though that bungie should have a separate queue for solo players and teams. That would put everyone on an equal playing field. All though unless player numbers go up can't imagine bungie would do that any time soon.

I like the fact its only a very select few who get the gun, I want it I havent got it so I have to practise till I do. Nothing wrong with that, Works for me :)

5 RepliesEdited by Psyggie: 6/20/2018 9:42:24 AMThey never said that. They said you will need to make it 40% of the way to Legend to get it. Lol.
also, it's not better than V wing OR graviton.

also, we aren't even 2 months into season 3. Your claim is incorrect about being far into season 3 lol. Basically your entire argument holds no water and is whiny as fuk
3 RepliesI was super determined to get it. This weekend it finally happened. Now I’m determined to help others grind for it. It’s such a satisfying weapon to slay with. I’m not disappointed. The grind was brutal, but I doubt I would feel as proud to flaunt it if it wasn’t.

1 ReplyIt’s a 390 rpm pulse rifle that goes higher if outlaw is activated. How many of you can truly say that you get headshots all the time and actually have enough time to reap the benefits of it? In PvE, perhaps. But in the crucible?

1 ReplyCome September the Claymore will be redundant, no rolls on yr1 weapons.
