Agree, there needs to be a happy medium where rewards aren’t too easy, but people who put in the time get rewarded. I especially hate the pure rng on milestone rewards. When my hunter needs arms, chest and cloak, I get nothing but helmets and legs from all milestones. This should not happen.

Thats rough i was running with a guy that had like 65 the other night shotty dropped every time just not for him. I started running it just for the shaders and glimmer as soon as I gave up hope of ever getting the shotty it dropped

3 RepliesWe asked for a grind. I had over 300 archon's forge completions in Destiny 1 before I got the saladins vigil. It was extremely frustrating, but the wait was worth it.

Shoot the L7 boss with your handcannon or other kinetic at 1 sec remaining and be close in the ground. In 103 total clears I have all 3 armor sets, 3 shotties, 1 SMG, 2 snipers, 2 sparrows and 1 each of ghost and ship. I did a farm session 2 days ago and in 10 runs, all 9 members go a shotgun. But we were all standing at his feet when the novabomb hit. Drop rates are fine but you have to be doing DPS, be close and don't die.

You clearly don’t mind grinding so you should get it this week since it’s all the boss can drop. That said I will echo other comments with my own opinion that RNG is a terrible replacement for fun content. Rewards being tied to dedication and effort not just straight up luck are actually rewarding. When the shotgun finally dropped for me I didn’t feel rewarded or happy. I felt angry that I had to grind the same content over and over for that many hours while watching other people get it on the first or second run and leave the group unannounced taking one of our fire teams to orbit.

It should drop by default after 20 or 25 clears. Same was said about VOG. Bungie still hasn’t learned from one extreme to the other it’s either feast or famine with them. No middle ground.

This is why random rolls is such a dumb concept, but you know, Bungies friends from youtube and twitch says they want them so roll on September. RNG is a good idea if you have encouragement. If you run 15 nightfall trying to get the strike specific gear and not one drops for any of your fireteam it's pointless. If you run 174 escalation protocol and not once does the shotgun drop, it's pointless. Bungie need to stop the dumb focus on what we might get in 3 months time and puckering up to streamers and spend some time on the game they are running [b]now[/b] and fix things that can not surely be "working as intended".

I am on 145, no shotgun, when i see people get it 3 times in a row, i see people fill out a whole heavy slot with the shotguns, and i get nothing.. come on man... this dude i was with last night joined with 6 clears, left with 9 and 3 shotguns, im not even joking.
