All that feedback and they finally give us what we want in the year 2 when we should have had it year 1? Probably not playing destiny again. They have the new forsaken for $40 and then for $35 more you get the season pass. That’s a no from me bc honestly this should have been how year one was and it took them a year after the fact to do it, and now they are charging ridiculously for it. Why should we as the gamer have to pay over and over for the product we should have already received?

32 RepliesEdited by Shadowjack: 6/13/2018 5:04:07 PMYET ANOTHER GAMER REALIZES FOR PROFIT COMPANIES ARE IN BUSINESS FOR PROFITS. June 13, 2018. Bungie.net user xLiberations became the latest in a long series of gamers to come to the realization that video game companies, which have historically existed as for profit companies, exist to make a profit. His belief that changes in the video game Destiny 2, which he believes should have always been in the game, should be free were challenged by the apparent epiphany that Bungie, the studio responsible for Destiny 2, expected to generate revenue and profits from their work. We reached out to Bungie for a comment, and are continuing to wait to see if a for-profit company will attempt to justify making profits to recoup development costs on their IP. When contacted on the matter of a for profit company attempting to turn a profit, another industry insider, who wished to remain anonymous, simply remarked "No shit, Sherlock." This is a developing story. More to be added.

If you haven't learned yet, wait three years before you purchase a Destiny game. Problem solved.

1 ReplyThat’s why all of those changes are free and don’t require purchase of the DLC to get.....
-
Of course! Could have easily added and fixed everything wrong in a whole year for free, but nope $$$$$ After D1 why has it taken them over a year to start getting the game on the same level as the first?! Oh yeah, pure greed and making content is too hard.

A business has to make money to stay in business, no way...

1 Reply$75 to play Destiny 2 for another year. A year. I've paid $75 for things that last a few hours. It's an entertainment bargain that can't be matched. There is nothing I could spend $75 on that would even come close to the fun and enjoyment I will get out of it over a years time.
-
5 RepliesYou clearly don't understand that game updates are free, you pay for extra content. So calm down little Billy.
-
In honor of your whining I purchased the $80 bundle.
-
Yawn. You received a product that you put over 100 hours of play time into. You deserve NOTHING extra.
-
The fixes aren't part of any of that. The fixes are free. Everything on the roadmap is free. The fixes, the events, sandbox changes ect. However just like destiny, if you want to play the new content, you will have to purchase that.

Who says that Forsaken is the game we should have already received? Bungie's plan with Destiny 2 is working out just fine for them. Bungie haven't apologised for their game, in fact, most of the developers and those involved stand by Destiny 2 and all it has to offer to players. My point of view is that as a business with a product, Bungie are following their plan and it is going well. Destiny 2 was very different to D1 at launch. For many, they treated it like D1 and grinded the hell out of it during the first few weeks expecting more of the same. The game was targeting a more "casual" audience, so the grind came to an abrupt end fairly quickly. CoO missed the mark, and again felt short with little content once it had been grinded out in 2-3 weeks by the hardcore. The casuals though, maybe some are still collecting the weapons? Warmind has improved the experience, and there is now a fair amount of content to get involved with, mainly the 3 raids/raid lairs, EP and if you enjoy it, crucible glory/valour - plus IB and FR. The road map has some good stuff coming. I'm still on the fence with Forsaken. I'll wait it out and watch the videos etc before pre-ordering. With other games on the horizon, maybe by September I will care very little for this game. On the other hand, if the content of forsaken is looking extremely good or unmissable, I'll be throwing money at the screen lol.

10 RepliesThey’re not charging ridiculously. You get most things for free so you can keep playing what you already have with the quality of life changes. You won’t get the new campaign or raid or new weapons or gear. What’s the problem exsctly

3 RepliesSo don't then. Honestly, that's the best message you can send as a consumer. Don't spend your money on the product. If enough people do that, BungieVision will make the necessary changes. I think the precipitously low player numbers during CoO are what lead to a lot of the proposed changes we're seeing now.
