Armor perks were great, they allowed for strong diversity and build set ups. While the mod system does this, it does it poorly. The updated mod system plus armor perks and add in the fact that armor gives you stats (resilience, recovery, mobility) this would make for a strong variety in armor. The fact that we can change armor stats with masterwork cores makes this even better. The only thing that would be missing if this is implemented is a more detailed UI.
Also I think the old stats from Destiny 1 (Discipline, Intellect, Strength) should come back and be attached to subclasses in the same manner that stats were attached to them in D1 and make it more in depth
Edit: Wow wasn't expecting this much attention lol, thanks! Lets try to bring this to Bungie's attention!
I also made a poll on weapon slots ^^

11 RepliesThat's cute, here's what real armor looks like in a looter; http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Breastplate_of_Akkhan http://thedivision.wikia.com/wiki/Striker%27s_Battlegear http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/The_Sham I'd like for armor perks to come back, but Bungie needs to step their game up they are way behind the times. Also the original 3 stats in D1 sucked, they didn't actually do anything but lower cooldowns which you can still do with Mods. Don't pretend like Destiny's ever had anything close to actual builds and diversity. There were some neat combos you could do, but nothing on the level of what's possible in the competition and that needs to change.
-
Agreed. The current mod system, coupled with the idiot progression system, is just horrible. Go back to what we had in Destiny. It worked. However, it needs to be adjustable. Even just a bit. There was nothing more frustrating than an Armour build that gave 299 intellect. As a solution, give us the ability to change each number by 5 or less, up or down. Obviously, one would have to go down in order to raise another. So, lower discipline by 3, then add those 3 to intellect (as an example).

D2 desperately needs more depth. Bring back the first games Armour stat style as a foundation and build upon that!
-
Either that or something better with more depth.
-
1 ReplyI would appreciate more detail and depth when it comes to character customization. Currently the power of player choice is very low.

Edited by TheShadow-cali: 5/5/2018 8:09:07 PMThey can't do that even if they wanted to. Not because they can't in the sence of doing the actual work, it's just they don't have that kind of time with D2 because of their broken engine. Think about this for a moment, look what updates they actually gave since D2 released. I can tell you this much about it, in the last 8 months it hasn't been anything to brag about so how long do anyone of you think it would take to do an overhaul knowing they are still using that broken engine and all the issues this game actually has? It's not that I disagree with this but asking for things that will not take place and most likely will not take place with D3 because Bungie is set in their ways that it doesn't benefit anyone. Bungie is making a game how they want to make it. Don't get me wrong, I'm just facing reality and realize Bungie is in business to be making a game for them and not you. Lets get real here and look at all the changes they actually did in this "sequel" and tell me it actually improved Destiny? So far Bungie has shown they still like to control how gamers play and that to me is selfish knowing it's 3+ years later. When you don't have random rolls the way this game is set up now and No people, Bungie is not adding D1 random rolls to D2 but even though they said they are going to be adding random rolls. It's not going to be like D1 and that means they will change things and work with what this game has already that limits gamers from actually increasing stats etc... Look at all the things in this game on how Bungie actually is putting some king of lock or limits on things knowing it's Only a cosmetic game that use to be a loot based system that gave gamers the incentive to want to spend time in this game? Until Bungie actually starts making a game for the gamers as well as themselves Nothing will change and D3 will start out exactly how D1 and D2 vanilla actually did. To me it's unfair to the player base that Bungie treats them this way and will not even attempt to offer anything knowing they got their money and then some.

You have thus now. Instead of intellect, discipline, and strength; it's mods for abilities, grenades, and melee.
-
5 RepliesHow about no?
-
If they do the mods will be ten times better.
-
4 RepliesBring back Int, Dis, Str and change the mod system to only affect reload, range and handling. You can also adjust mods to increase resilience when using a particular subclass or add orb drops when killing multiple targets with a particular burn. Make Int, Str, Dis run on the same 12 tier system we had in D1. It would bring back the want to do specific activities in order to get that perfect balance for the tier setup you want.

I really hate the design in this game. Destiny 2 has the issue of grenades being infrequent and so less options in combat. Destiny 1 had the issue of them being powerful in many respects and frequent. Both of them suck, options and more space magic is great but utter chaos is not. I'm not wanting absolute skill to take over but it definitely needs to head more in that direction. What I mean by skill is more risk for the reward. For example supers carry very little risk. There's nothing wrong with supers and abilities being made weaker with their power coming from frequency of being well played. Take for instance a golden gun needing 3-4 body shots to kill someone but 1 to headshot kill. At that frequency it would be great. It's an option you get and it doesn't necessarily mean you're going to win an encounter because if played poorly it's no more effective than base equipment. Not to mention they have theirs as well. If you're good enough though it can turn an encounter in your favor and you know the one who did it deserved it because they didn't just shoot your and everyone else's foot. In that same manner grenades and melees need to be treated that way.
-
Agreed - it was an excellent stat trinity! I would also ask that the impact of mods on a weapon be more clearly visible.
-
How about instead of fixing this terrible game. Just stop making it.
-
They are still in the game, just through mods- except Intellect/Super cool down reduction. Fingers crossed that Mods 2.0 will help. My hope is that we will any be able to be put into any armor piece. This with the farfetched hope that we will be able to stack more than three and apply 2 mods per armor piece.

1 ReplyIgnore this guy, also don’t bring back random rolls, if you did this people might actually want to play the game and have fun. This is not allowed 😂
-
3 RepliesI thought they were kinda gay
-
5 RepliesAlso Bungie #bubblelivesmatter.... Why can't Titans have a piece of armor like Orpheus Rig makes orbs and the more damage it takes the faster the super recharges... I hate saying it but bubble sucks....
-
5 RepliesAnd snipers that not feel like tanks And skill trees And PvP game modes And ability to choose what you want to play And random rolls And special weapons And Siva (for free and not in a -blam!-ing expansion) And hmgs And ttk like in d1 And connection bars And individual score And story playlists And individual inventories And grimoire And make shaders permanent Wow and people are saying they go in the right direction. Where the duck is this the right direction!? They know what is wrong but aren't willing to rewind stuff and add stuff back because it's "hard" to add stuff that was already coded and is still there in the pre.. I mean sequel destiny 1. -blam!-ing cunts
-
8 RepliesIts not going to happen. I don't see the point in people asking for changes that require them to do a deep overhaul of the game. I agree, IDS was better, but the ship sailed when the decision to not use it was made years ago.
-
3 RepliesWhy does it feel as if Destiny 1 is the true sequel instead of Destiny 2?
-
EVERYONE UPVOTE THIS POST NOW!!! IM TIRED OF MY GRENADE TAKING AN ENTIRE CRUCIBLE MATCH TO CHARGE!!! 😂😂😂
-
Why not just have both armor perks?
-
1 ReplyYes, please make armor freaking useful. Add perks back to them at the very least jeeze. Or add int/dis/str back and change the mods to the old perks we used to have (faster reload, health on orb pickup, etc).
