The hard cap will be slower for you to attain if you don't raid, but I'm sure the soft cap is plenty to enter normal mode raid and get started so you won't be left behind. The levels between the hard cap and soft cap are simply for fun they haven't really been important since the release of curse of osiris.

Remember they will change how your light affects your damage, so that soft cap might be more of an issue than people think.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the Raid was filled with enemies at the Hard Power Lv. cap and the Prestige Raid was filled with enemies above the Hard Power Cap. And from last weeks TWAB we know that if we are going to be at a significant disadvantage going up against enemies that are stronger than us. Isn’t this what a Bungie did with Crota’s End, it was short Raid with almost no puzzles so turned the A.I. difficulty up to 12 ( on a scale of 1-10 ) to compensate.

From 40 to 50. Light is already negligible so I doubt it'll matter.

You're forgetting that they are changing how much power level differences affect you. Being 10 levels under TODAY is not has hard as it's about to become. It's a part of their strategy for making content more difficult, which is needed. They have already said that if all you do is Raid and Trials, you wont reach max power as fast as someone who does EVERYTHING. So the people reaching max power the quickest will be the players that do all of their Milestones, The Raid, raid lairs, trials, Crucible, Nightfalls.

You're too worried. It was never a problem being ten light below in TTK. Being 320 was nice, but if you were 310 you'd be fine. I don't understand how adding ten levels to the bottom of the light range is going to do much. All it'll do is make us do more damage against super weak enemies and take more damage from enemies 50 light higher than us. When you're at 370 in the raid that's probably 360 you aren't gonna need ten more light. You've also never needed max light to do the normal mode raid, which now drops up to max light unlike D1, so if your problem is how strong you'll be stop worrying because 370, and frankly 360, will probably be just fine.

We need a server that is prestige level planets. I'm so sick of how easy patrolling is.

Oh I agree. I'm just saying that we don't know how much they are increasing the drop in power. For instance, let's just say for argument's sake that currently 10 levels under is a 10% drop in damage incoming and outgoing. They might change that to be where 10 levels under will be a 25% drop. They said they were making it a more steep drop but we don't really know how much that will be yet
