if your increasing movement speed and not time to kill people will get hit and run away with dying could get very annoying. plus d1 pvp formula was so good why move away from that plus d3 better play more like d1 pvp but with private servers because thats what the majoraty of the fan base want 1 primary 1 special 1 heavy weapon please. and random rolls a good game is easy to pick up hard to master every good game has this formula why would anyone want easy to pick up easy to master promote skill and watch people who wanna be the best emerge. 1 last thing if every has access to 1 hit kill weapons right out of the gate the game is still balanced and skill becomes more of a factor. thats 1 d1 was so much fun 1 hit kill abalities and perks. fusion grenades people just wanted the magnetic pull nerfed on them so they required more skill to hit. think about it please it should be clear as day at this point and could help bring thousands of players back really fast

Yes. Most useable D1 weapons were around .8-.9. Make this change

A good game is easy to pick up, hard to master. Every good game has this formula.
So does D2 - part of mastery is learning to use the tools at your disposal (not the tools from another game, or the tools you wish you had, or the tools everyone's talking about), and find a way to both have fun and play well. Bungie can't MAKE people have fun, and they can't MAKE people play well, all they did was sell players a game - it's up to the players to master it. Skill doesn't come from speed, it comes from tactical engagement - D2 has a higher potential for skill than D1 did, but no one's taking advantage of it because they're all rushing with Uriel's and playing straight into the CQ/Auto meta. That'd get fixed if people stopped doing it. :) In a couple of weeks we're going to start seeing a lot more of that "hard to master" when four very specific Autos aren't Easy Mode anymore and players have to start aiming their weapons again. It'll be an amusing few days around here. But hey, kudos on cramming almost every single talking point from today's top posts into a single thread! I bet the one thing stopping Bungie from rolling out your suggestions by tomorrow morning was waiting for one more person to repeat them with a solid block of text, instead of contributing to another conversation where this was all already being discussed. Makes y'all look much more organized when everyone starts their OWN thread saying the same thing, a couple hundred times a day. Try some paragraphs, too - it'll help.

What the -blam!- did I just read?

4 RepliesDestiny 1 PvP was never great. It was mostly an unbalanced mess.

if your increasing movement speed and not time to kill people will get hit and run away with dying could get very annoying
So you want to TTK to be even hire than it is already? Cause that’s what you literally just said in that sentence. Honk honk, seat belts everyone keep your tongue out the window....
Short bus🚌
Try Sweet Business at full cycle. It'll do the job about that fast.

32 RepliesSlower ttk shows the true skill of the player Besides that some weapons in d2 have that ttk

Crucibaby

Yeah, instead of the world's stupidest game modes, the game modes ought to be set up to facilitate different play styles. The One Hit Kill lovers can go play "Snipers and Shottys" mode, the low TTK lovers can go play "No Shields Allowed" mode, the primary weapon commandos can go play regular as it is now, and the space magic fans can go play 6v6 mayhem or crimson doubles.

17 RepliesSo you want kill times of a call of duty game? That would break the game. This isn't COD and this isn't Titan fall. (Referring to movement and kill times). The KIND of game that needs to be taken as an example of is Halo. No destiny is not Halo but because it is most like it in design. It is an arcade shooter. Most people that want this fast time to kill are people who didn't play or weren't very good at Halo. But also came from more of a COD and Battlefield back ground. Titan Fall is a futuristic COD type twitch based game and you cant look at either. We have shields, health and armor stats that can fluctuate depending on stats. So at what armor rating should we have this TTK? Cool ill just dump my armor up to Ten and you're stuck killing me at a (OMG) 1.3 sec still. It didn't even work in D1 because you cant just say our kill times are .87 sec and balance that around custom stats. And believe it or not you can kill someone at .87, if they don't have any resilience. Think about that for second. The primary guns that did kill that fast were broken and overpowered. That's why they were nerfed. That's why they had to nerf special weapons and ammo to begin with. Because people had special all the time, it was a nice experiment but year 3 destiny 1 is were we would be at. Except we would still have sidearms and no regeneration ammo on one sniper. OHK weapons only work in an arcade shooter when they are fought for by controlling map positions. The only way to truly balance Destiny is to have separate weapon load outs. Having A tab in the character screen separating pvp from pve. Granted there does need to be a weapon ttk buff but not .87 sec. A solid 1 sec would be fine at an armor rating of 4 or 5.

1 ReplyRight now it is frustrating that they can run away with ease and I can imagine how shit it will become.
