I find myself wanting to play Skyrim again.

Wtf is it about those damn Elderscroll games? I played Morrowind like crazy on Xbox all the way up to Oblivion’s release, then Oblivion kept pulling me back every couple months until Skyrim dropped, and now here I am with a backlog of games I’ve barely scratched the surface of and I’m daydreaming of joining the Dark Brotherhood.

  • I would be back on it if I could come up with a damn long term character build that I haven’t played at this point. Any ideas would be appreciated, as I’ve been drawing blanks, and I’m just sick of going into auto power leveling with Skyrim Blog builds.

    • Then do it, download a mod that makes dragons spew confetti and replaces guards with chickens while your at it.

    • While writing this long post, you could’ve already been in the dark brotherhood

        • I love the series. I played Oblivion and now Skyrim. This game is addictive. I've sunk a lot of time into it and I'm never bored. I haven't even looked at mods yet.

        • Because the franchise is really good. The only time they made a terrible one was Redguard. They fixed that with Morrowind. The customization that other games fail to captivate and feeling like whatever you do in the game world there is always something to do making it feel like a breathing world. All friendly NPCs in cities have their own personalities instead of putting a whole bunch NPCs in a city then only making a few of them have their own personalities. and just calling it a day. Each dungeon you go into has its own story to them. Now the other thing I enjoy is there is 3rd person and 1st person view. 1st person is definitely better. I do not like 3rd person RPG games. They definitely did better with interactions with NPCs from Oblivion and Morrowind. Instead of everything becoming still and you zoom to their face like your eyeballs just popped out of your eyesockets or you are forced into 3rd person view, the game continues in real time. Combat is not the best but it isn't horrible. I would say it is good. Still floaty which I do not mind. If you want more difficulty you have to turn the game up from adept. Adept is pretty much "Normal mode". If you understand the mechanics of the RPG system and the combat system and you find the game easy on Adept. I would urge you to put it on a higher difficulty. You will have to use potions like resistance to fire a lot more and understand what are the weaknesses to the creatures like trolls have a weakness to fire. If you are good with swords you want to bring a sword enchanted with fire with you. What I find great is that the game doesn't try to be complex for the sake of being complex. Simple yet engaging.

          • I find that games like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls are ones that I can always come back to; sometimes even years later. Fallout 3 was the game that absolutely changed my life.

          • Haha, I'm doing the same thing. Just jumped on and found a lighthouse with a dead family, and had the tragic pleasure of learning what the hell happened there through their journals and corpses.

            • I've been feeling the same thing lately, but with enderal rather than vanilla skyrim.

            • I love Skyrim VR, the heft of swinging my own sword on horseback, the putting my shield up to block incoming arrows, i could never imagine playing it flat.

              • I've overplayed Skyrim. I unlocked every achievements on 360 then went modding crazy on PC, I still use my ported 360 save to test mod setups.

Skyrim has been a fun game. Also, love the meme from it. “Let me guess, someone stole your sweet roll” *proceeds to turn Whiterun guard Into a sweet roll with the wabbajack*

              • That's why I got it on the Switch. I don't feel like mods are a neccesity tbh, although I do like them. Now I can play wherever I want without some million dollar laptop.

              • It’s one of those game I always keep in my inventory. Nothing quite like a bit of exploring in Skyrim

              • It's a really solid franchise I'd say. A few weeks ago I started a new playthrough in Skyrim with a new character and build.
