8 RepliesYes, I’m not completely certain because there is no tangible evidence either way. But simply based on the complexities of the universe I don’t think this was a random accident

10 RepliesNope, don't believe in god at all. Most of my "family" that knows it thinks I'm going to burn in hell and think I'm a terrible person so they avoid me. I actually remember the first time I told my mother I don't believe in god.....she choked and slapped me while telling me that I was lying and I should apologize. I'm quite glad that the avoid me though. I don't consider these hypocritical -blam!-s my family. The only family I have is my little baby sister. I don't look forward to when she becomes a teenager in 7 years though.....😢😢😢 it'll break my heart when she goes through that "I hate my lame parents so I should rebel and tell them I hate them" phase AMD she tells me she hates me during one of those insignificant teenager tantrums because I told her no for whatever reason.....

Im christian but I also am scientific as well. Im more open minded, and question things as well, such as the fact that im going to get crucified by othet christians as soon as I post this.

We're talking particles of the same absolute base matter. Technically, we're "god" on this level. To an atom or a cell's POV. I dont understand religion. I understand wanting to understand things and concepts higher, but worship seems funny to me.

I saw a billboard today. It said: "When you die you get to meet God." I thought that if I met him before I died, I might believe in him.

22 RepliesI am spiritual. I, personally, find too many similarities between organized religion and organized crime for me to be comfortable with joining.

2 RepliesI’m spiritual and believe in god, does that mean I’m religious?

8 RepliesSpiritually free, agnostic, and vehemently opposed to religion. For simple reasons too. Like, if god hates gays, why has he always and continues to make them? Oh, what’s that? You say it’s man’s free will and a choice? I tell you what. Try taking another man in your mouth and see what you choose. If you’ve already thrown up in your mouth, then you are like me. Hetero. Made that way. Born that way. I’ll die that way. Now if you flip that and consider the gay dudes perspective, getting physically sick at the very thought of a woman, how can you deny he wasn’t created that way and say it was his choice? Why would his reaction to what I see as normal be discounted as unnatural? Or even in direct opposition to my own way of life? Because an ancient book alluded to gods disapproval? Because some guy on stage told you so? “Beliefs allow the mind to stop functioning. A non-functioning minds is clinically dead. Beliefs are dangerous. Believe in nothing. “ Anyone worth their salt should be able to consider any idea brought before them critically and without preconceived bias. But through the lens of religion so much of the world is skewed and those folks are not interested in thinking for themselves. Hence why I am opposed to religion.
Not that anyone asked or cares lol.

Good morning. I’m stoned
Depends on how you define "being". As a Zen Buddhist, if you define "Higher Power" in the way that most traditional Western religions do...then the answer is "No." Buddhists do not believe in gods, in the way that most people understand that word to mean.

I believe in God, but my family never went to church on a regular basis, aside from Christmas and Easter with my grandparents. Every once in a while, we'd get invitations to go to mass/service, we'd go, but not stick with it. When I was 12, I joined a Catholic youth group, and that's where I'm staying. Learned a lot and met a lot of good people as well.

Yes. I grew up in a Roman Catholic family, and also was raised in an area of California that's mostly Roman Catholic (My hometown had 13 churches spread around it, and was in the process of building another one just before I left). The church I went to was definitely more accepting of different people from various walks of life compared to the other churches, and compared to the Christian church that was also nearby. The pastor in my church gave out homilies that advocated for more unity towards our fellow neighbor, whether or not they are LGBT, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, etc. He definitely ran on the stance that all of us are sinners, and that we would be saved in the end if we turned to Jesus Christ, and he also advocated pretty much treating everyone with the amount of respect that you would want them to give to you. Unfortunately, the pastor that I grew up with ended up passing away in 2015 due to heart failure, but a lot of the lessons that he taught me (and a lot of the children that grew up with him) have stuck. He wasn't very popular with the older members of the parish, but he was very popular with the younger members.

Edited by unsanguine: 2/2/2018 10:04:40 AMI was religious at one point in my life. I was a mormon member part of a church. I dont find myself as mormon anymore because i sort of stopped going to church due to family issues. I also lost contact between most my church friends that i knew. I found it hard to follow what i was required to do, such as not consuming hot drinks like tea or coffee. I drink both coffee and tea about once a day and not being able to do so is kinda hard for me. Some of the commandments were kinda dumb in my honest opinion, which sort of made me not follow anymore of these. I also already broke the commandments once i was a full member of the church, such as not stealing or the use of drugs(dont worry, they were prescribed to me. Except for weed) or not saying gods name in vain. The non religious side of me believes in science a bit more cause i honestly dont understand what the mormon religion says sometimes. Im not trying to offend others but i just dont understand how was god able to create Earth. I dont understand what eating store bought bread and wine does to me. If it is the blood of christ, then why is it in a bottle from a factory? You can hate on me if you want, im just speaking my mind.
