Edited by Danimaji: 1/9/2018 5:52:14 PMThey should slightly increase crit damage for pulse rifles, as they are unforgiving; if you have the skill to land crits with this weapon type, you should be rewarded for your precision. Optimal TTKs are similar for Pulse Rifles and auto rifles at medium ranges, which shouldn't be the case since the optimal TTK for auto rifles allows for many body shots. Missing a burst with a pulse rifle will cost you a gunfight (especially with the slow ROF, high impact ones). In addition, they should reduce the impact of flinch (from HCR and etc) to pulse rifles and boost their effective range. This advice is copied and pasted straight over from a recent suggestions topic I created.

3 RepliesNot really, in my experience. I mainly use one of the following: Heart of Time, The Time-Worn Spire, Lincoln Green, and Autumn Wind. I just got Darkest Before, so I'll need to try that one. They're not great by any means, but they aren't terrible either. Being able to predict their recoil will really help you out.

6 RepliesEdited by tiptronic22: 1/8/2018 4:14:01 PMHow is this getting so much attention. Bring back D1 TTK, bring back primary/secondary/heavy format. How about bungo fixes this crap hole of a game before we worry about buffing pulse damage. LMAO.
-
2 RepliesYes please. Red Death was One of my favorite rifles in Destiny 1 year 1. Bungie taught us to master and love 3 round burst weapons back in the day. 2nd favorite was the The Messager.

5 Repliespulse riles dont need a buff. VW is op if you know how to use it.
-
My agenda and Nergal disagree. Now base stability < I can get behind that!!! Buff pulse rifles in terms of stability and nothing else.
-
I got 14 body and 20 head from nightshade (pvp)
-
1 ReplyThe Vex Machin 4 does decent damage. Horrible reload though.
-
So.. remove Eververse?
-
I don’t know? Darkest before is a badass pulse!!
-
Some can 3 tap, don't need a damage buff imo, just a rof buff
-
I am going into the crucible today to get some data from nightshade.
-
This so much

2 RepliesAgreed. The only consistent and competitive one I've come across and use is the Time Worn Spire. The only other one that's close is the Darkest Before but it just didn't "feel" right when I used it. There seems to be a pretty big gap in body shot to headshot damage too. I say "seems" because I haven't actually tested that. I might when PM's finally come into the game. If anyone's left by then anyway. Lol

There are two pulses (that I know) that are already decent, Lincoln green and The IB pulse. The other archetypes definitely need a buff though
-
5 RepliesImplement the Destiny 1 Grasp of Malok/Skorri's Revenge/Clever Dragon high rate of fire/low impact pulse rifle type architecture.
-
1 ReplyInfinite Paths 8 is one of the more consistent ones I’be come across, but it still loses to autos in most scenarios.
-
8 RepliesTheir headshot damage is fine. Their bodyshot damage however is VERY LOW. Example. For headshots...adaptive pulses kill as fast as mida with headshots....but uriels kills at the same speed with bodyshots.. But that is mainly because auto rifles are way too overpowered.
-
6 RepliesGreat point. So basically what I got from your post was to remove Eververse.
-
5 RepliesDon't think I've ever been killed by a pulse rifle in this game....ever.
-
And sniper. Also lower ttk , reduce ability cool down for supers, etc.
-
Nerf everything

3 RepliesEdited by General Kenobi: 1/7/2018 11:46:32 PMI miss using you and your brother, PDX-45.

3 RepliesI'd Give Up Pulse Rifle to get Heavy Machine Guns Back.... RIP HMGs

the damage is fine on PRs, the hit detection is the problem. PRs are built around precision damage and always have been but Bungie appear to have made the hit registration on precision shots much less forgiving than in D1 which, combined with some of the shocking connections you can get in D2 Crucible, means the gun is barely tickling an enemy with body shots/misses that should be melting them with the PH buff. Vigilance Wing is the perfect example of this situation. get a rock solid connection and you can melt an entire team in 8 bursts if your aim is super on-point, get a ropey connection and you could be lucky to even kill one enemy with the same amount of firepower...

It would make them more useful. The only ones I find even remotely useful are the Nergal PR4 (full auto) and Vigilance Wing. Maybe there are better ones, but I don't bother trying them because most pulse rifles are no good. For me to switch to pulse rifles, they will have to kill/do damage on par with Scathelock, Better Devils, Vlakadyn, Uriel's Gift, etc. Until then I'll stick with my metas.
