While Bungie has yet to make an official statement on whether they'll appear in Destiny, Osborne was quick to assert that they'd in no way confer an advantage for any player should they appear.
"We’ve not announced anything on the microtransaction front but our goal is to absolutely make sure that when we deliver a game for $60 that’s a great experience no matter what type of player you are," he said. "So we’re not looking at any pay-for-power type stuff. That’s what I hear as a player when people say they’re worried about models and schemes that nickel and dime people; we’re not going to do that."

Wut Bungie lied again?
Waiting patiently for someone to defend this. Go ahead and try.

I have two exotic ghosts. One from completing the lost prophecys (sagiras shell) and one from a random drop from eververse (star map shell). I haven't spent a dime on eververse. Their perks hold a higher numerical advantage or larger playlist advantage than legendary ones, but the perks can still be obtained on other ghost shells. 1) the ghosts can be freely obtained with gameplay and rngesus. Freely obtained. Free. Not paying. Makes it not pay to win. 2) the perks are just exotic versions of one's available already. IE just better.

Is nobody going to mention this quote was from a 4 year old interview about Destiny 1?

Edited by munkt0r: 12/28/2017 8:44:45 PMI don't even know how someone could make a straw-man argument in this regard... But i'm guessing you're saying the XP gain and component tracking on the exotic shells is effectively providing an advantage? I disagree on the merit that legendary shells have those perks as well the hunter subclass for the component tracking, that everyone has access to.

If you actually understood logic, you’d not be on your high horse challenging people to prove a negative.

Ghost shells do not enhance your level of play or make you better than someone else. So thats why it is not pay to win. The ghost shells look cool. Would you rather get 5 motes of light per level up or the chance for ghost shells, sparrows, ships? You tell me

5 Replieswhat does the ghost do? if it doesn't make your guardian strong in anyway, there's no advantage. the rate a player earns XP/tokens isn't an advantage anymore than a player having more time to play.

2 RepliesEdited by Ryan, The Spoil-Less: 12/28/2017 8:36:37 PMWhat exactly tf are you winning by having an exotic shell? Some extra materials which you can obtain any other way, except you get a little heads up? The advantage is so minimal it’s practically non existent. Also, they can be obtained through normal levelling. Paying for bright engrams only gives you a chance, so you’re not directly “paying to win”, as you retar- I mean people, call it.

6 RepliesExplain how they are a pay to win first.

4 RepliesYou get a ghost shell that gives you some extra loot drops or 10% exp for some bright engrams that give you no real upper hand in anything. Sure you can get a shell that gives you a benifit like so but in the end all be all you do not need them nor do they give someone a massive upper hand over another player. Out of 200 Heroic Public events my friend who has the dawning ghost got 1 whole exotic over me.

Still waiting.
