Almost no response from Bungie. They're planning to ignore us? Really? #RemoveEververse

I really can't believe that Bungie is almost completely ignoring this pr disaster. YouTube and gaming sites are filling up with coverage of the anti Eververse revolt. Bungie just doesn't care? They are so about money that they just literally don't give a s**t? Really? I'm amazed. Product companies that stop caring about their customers and just treat them as cash cows eventually pay the price. I thought this was common sense? I predict Bungie will give us all a few free engrams in Jan and hope we shut up. It's amazing what idiots they take us for. Maybe they've been right until now. But no more. Destiny becoming a shop must stop. #REMOVEEVERVERSE Edit. Ok, i know it's Christmas. But... I see 2 possible explanations here. 1 Bungie made a nice holiday event for us and is now enjoying a Christmas break. 2 Bungie dropped a turd of a microtransaction event in our laps then ran for the hills leaving no one to deal with the fallout Edit 2. Yes i know Chris Barrett tweeted 3 sentences, basically 'we'll be looking into it in a few weeks' (after this event) barely counts as a response to a pr disaster of this magnitude. Also Seraphim Crypto a volunteer ninja is engaging with the community in a constructive way. But this extremely low level of official response is shocking. Unless you factor in the possibility that they don't care-microtransactions roll on while they ignore us Edit 3. Engadget-'uproar' comicbook-'#RemoveEververse backlash' Polygon-'community outrage' Destructoid-'full-on revolt' 411mania-'community revolting' hardcoregamer-'eververse problem' gamerrant-'forums overrun' Wccftech-'community rioting' PlayStation lifestyle-'eververse complaints' Mp1st-'community strikes back' So....how is this not a pr disaster? Re-Edit 4 Ok so some of the debate has changed to how exactly to fix the Eververse situation, in a constructive way. Toxic forum? Not always. In summary, it's agreed that current Eververse loot needs to go into the general loot pool to increase replayability. Many want Eververse to go completely, many accept Tess Avarice will need to stay in some reduced form. After that, there are many good suggestions for getting to a better D2 such as reintroducing quality of life changes from D1. For new ideas, I recommend the vandal_heart_ post under kellogg's post (though there are many more good ones). I'd love to play that game.

    • The sheep (Ovis aries) is a quadrupedal, ruminant mammal typically kept as livestock. Like all ruminants, sheep are members of the order Artiodactyla, the even-toed ungulates. Although the name "sheep" applies to many species in the genus Ovis, in everyday usage it almost always refers to Ovis aries. Numbering a little over one billion, domestic sheep are also the most numerous species of sheep. An adult female sheep is referred to as a ewe (/juː/), an intact male as a ram or occasionally a tup, a castrated male as a wether, and a younger sheep as a lamb.

      • They are crapping their underoos right now, their player base took a REAL hit. It is a MYTH that Eververse doesn't affect you. They have PURPOSEFULLY and SYSTEMATICALLY been nerfing XP and loot drops the whole time with Eververse as it's main focus and hub of it's cause much like a gambling simulator which throttles chance and progress for real money to retain and monetise content. This DLC and progression capped "dawning " event only furthers the already known facts that meaningful content is NO longer the focus with progress caps at every turn and lackluster, watered down endgame, long term effort. #EververseVengence -When you play a game online, check your friends list. • I think [more] response is coming soon. Lots of people aren’t happy and they can tell. Something that I wonder though.. What happens next? I’ve seen very little real discussion within the community about the full extent of what they want, expect to see or what they’d be happy with. Since most threads I’ve seen contain all of 2 words, “Remove Eververse”, let’s start there. If it fully disappears, then what? What happens to all of the items in Eververse? What about the players that purchased content there? What about Bright Engrams you receive from levelling, what do you get then? Some things could change half way. There’s definitely a lack of end game rewards or incentives to keep playing / raiding. I’d personally like to see incentive to keep levelling beyond the minimum requirement for an activity. Some players have mentioned they’d like having some of the Eververse items as end game rewards to grind for. Lootboxes though.. Ugh. I hate them. A step in right direction would be making items from the packages purchasable separately so you can choose what you want. If people are willing to spend cash on cosmetics, they should at least be able to choose what they want. Enough of my rambling I guess. We’ll see what happens soon. If I had to bet, I would say that Eververse will not just up and disappear. I believe there will be changes for the better and I hope less focus put on it in the future.

        • Started a new topic: Destiny youtubers are the PROBLEM #RemoveEververse

        • Unfortunately micro transactions are well cemented into the gaming industry now and they're here to stay. I doubt bungie will remove eververse and asking them to do so isn't going to get you anywhere imo. Destiny lacks in game incentives to play and grind for loot, which isn't great for a loot based game! The fact I could spend hundreds on silver and not get anything decent isn't helping matters either, for me that's basically gambling. My answer would be to add all the eververse gear into the loot table. Keep eververse there for those who wish to spend the money, after all it's their decision and not everyone has the time to grind everyday. We could earn weapon ornaments by getting so many kills with said weapon or ships and sparrows from post game rewards or faction packages. Keep bright engrams as they are, even though you can count on one hand how many exotic items I've gotten from them! It's a well known fact that bungie take a break over the holidays so there won't be any answers until the new year. But I'm sorry to say you won't be pleased as tess isn't going anywhere, I just hope we can bypass that bitch and give her the middle finger as we fly passed on our exotic sparrow from that nightfall last week..

        • People saying we (the community) need to figure out ways to fix Eververse are dumb. We're the consumers. Not the developers. Our job is to communicate when we're unhappy about something. They have to figure out how to fix it.

          • If you’ve got a kitchen sink clogged or a garbage disposal clogged, it can wreck a perfectly good evening in front of the tube. Instead of settling in to watch the Series, you’ll find yourself staring at a sink full of dirty, backed-up water and wondering whether to call in a plumber ($$$$$). However, with two inexpensive tools and a little practice, you can figure out how to unclog a sink in less than an hour. In this article, we’ll show you how to unclog a sink, use a plunger and snake to clear up all but the most stubborn drain clogs. Plungers are sold at any hardware store or home center (lead photo). Those with larger rubber bells deliver more thrust, but most will work for kitchen drains. Be sure it has a stout handle so you can apply plenty of force as you learn how to unclog a sink. A snake (sometimes called a hand auger) ranges from cheap to inexpensive, depending on the size, length and turning mechanism. For all-around use, we recommend a 3/8-in.model that’s about 20 ft. long, like the one in Photo 6 (sold at hardware stores and home centers). It’s easy to turn down into the drain. But shorter, 1/4-in. types will work for most clogs too. In addition, keep several other items handy—a bucket or a plastic bin that fits under your drain, rubber gloves and a good flashlight. You can avoid most clogs by not abusing your kitchen drain line. Don’t overload your disposer with meat; foods high in starch, like pasta, potatoes and rice; or foods high in fiber, like celery and corn husks. Also, run plenty of cold water down the drain and let the disposer catch up after every cup of food you push into it. Never dump bacon grease or coffee grounds into the drain. If allowed to settle and cool, they solidify in the drain. If you follow the steps of this article and still can’t clear the blockage, don’t hesitate to call in a plumber. You may have a clog far down the drain line beyond your reach, or stuck objects in the pipes. Check the Disposer Before you Plunge: How to Unclog a Garbage Disposal One of the most common causes of a clogged drain is when your garbage disposal clogged. If the side of the sink that has the disposer doesn’t drain, plunge it first to remove the clog or force it down the drain. And if you flip the switch to turn on your garbage disposer and all you hear is a low humming sound, your disposer is probably jammed. Switch it off and unplug the unit. You can usually free it by turning the blades manually by inserting an Allen wrench into the hole on the bottom of the disposer. If the disposer doesn’t make any sound when you turn it on, an internal breaker on the motor probably has tripped. Give the disposer a minute to cool off. Then press the reset button located on the bottom of the unit, and turn it on again. If you have a dishwasher, tighten a clamp over the flexible part of the drain line before plunging the drain. This prevents dirty water from flowing back into the dishwasher cabinet. Disposer restartClamp dishwasher drain Step 2: Clear the blockage with a plunger How to Unclog a Sink Photo 1: Work the plunger Hold a wet cloth tightly over one sink drain to seal it and set the plunger over the other drain. Plunge up and down vigorously for about 20 seconds. If the problem isn’t in the disposer, plunge the drain. If you have a dishwasher, remember to first clamp the drain hose. Then fill the sink with 3 to 4 in. of water to ensure that the plunger seals around the drain. Hold a wet rag tightly over the other drain opening in double sinks or use the basket strainer to seal it (Photo 1). Then plunge away. Roll the head of the plunger into the water so you force water, not air, into the drain. Pump vigorously. On your last upstroke, pop the plunger off the mouth of the drain for extra pressure (Photo 2). If the water doesn’t swirl straight down the drain, continue plunging for several minutes. Plunging can be quick and easy or it could be a wet mess. Keep towels handy to soak up spills. CAUTION! Don’t plunge or snake a drain if you’ve poured drain cleaners into the sink. The chemicals can cause serious burns if they splash on your skin. Use drain cleaners only if the sink is draining slowly and not completely clogged. Step 3: Clean the P-trap How to Unclog a Sink Photo 3: Disassemble the trap Loosen the slip nut on the trap arm assembly and the continuous taste tee and wiggle the trap free. Check the waste tee and remove and clean it if it’s clogged. Clogs that occur in the P-trap and trap arm of the drain (Photo 3) most often occur when grease or coffee grounds stick. If intensive plunging doesn’t remove it, disassemble and clean out the P-trap (10 to 15 minutes; Photos 3 – 5). Begin by sponging the water from the sink to reduce the flow under the sink when you pull off the trap (Photo 3). Keep your pan or bucket underneath; dirty water will flow out. We show plastic drain lines, but many older kitchen sinks have metal traps and pipes. Metal slip nuts are usually more difficult to loosen than plastic, but either will probably require the use of slip-joint pliers to break them free. Loosen them gently to avoid cracking or bending the trap assembly. Unscrew the slip nut between the P-trap and the trap arm first, then the nut at the bottom of the waste tee. If the trap is clogged, clean it (Photo 4), reinstall it and test the line with warm water. Don’t over-tighten the slip nuts. Hand tight plus a quarter turn with pliers should be enough. If the P-trap isn’t clogged, move on and remove the trap arm and clean it (Photo 5). Run a screwdriver around the inside of the pipe stub-out and pull out any debris that may have collected in the opening. If you still haven’t found the clog, reach for the snake! Step 4: How to Snake a Drain how to snake a drain Photo 6: Insert the snake Thread the tip of the snake into the drain stub-out. Tighten the setscrew and turn the crank clockwise to feed it into the drainpipe. Begin by loosening the setscrew at the tip of the snake and pulling out 6 to 10 in. of cable. Then tighten the setscrew and spin the snake down into the drain line (Photos 6 and 7). Initially you may feel an obstruction, but it’s likely that the tip of the snake is just turning a corner. Loosen the setscrew, pull out another 6 to 10 in. of cable and continue to feed the snake into the line. If you feel the cable hit an obstruction, continue cranking and pushing the cable through the clog until you feel the tip bite through. This should be obvious because the tension in the cable will drop. When you are through the clog, turn the crank counterclockwise and pull out the cable. Clean the cable as you pull; it’ll probably be covered with incredibly dirty gunk (Photo 8). You may get a large plug of material at the end of the snake, so keep that bucket handy. Repeat the process until you no longer feel blockage, then reassemble the trap and run plenty of warm water to flush the line. After the drain is open, pour 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of white vinegar into the drain. Cover both openings and let it sit for a few minutes. Then run another gallon or so of warm water behind it to flush out the mixture. The combination of baking soda and vinegar can break down any leftover fat deposits and will leave your drain smelling fresh. And that’s how to snake a drain.

            • You guys realize that Christopher Barrett acknowledged the complaints about Eververse 5 days ago, right? He said that they're going to be looking at ways to change the direction that Eververse has gone and address the "feedback". Of course he didn't issue the flat out apology and immediately change everything like everyone wants, but do we realistically expect that to happen?

Honestly, what did you expect? I have said this before, as long as people are spending money, Eververse will not be removed no matter how many forum pages you fill with Remove Eververse. Cut the cash, wave goodbye to Eververse, until that happens, don't matter what you do, Eververse will go on its merry way. Edit: I am in no way trying to knock your efforts. I suppose Bungie will kinda listen and maybe change things slightly, but I really do not expect any change in Eververse. They may make more things available via playing the game, but until the cash flow dries up, we will be seeing Eververse for some time.

                    • This PR disaster started happening literally the day bungie were going on their Christmas break so having someone atleast acknowledge it that day on Twitter as they’re probably leaving the office thinking about time away from all the forums shit and spending time with their family was the most you were going to get in that moment. This is a big part of bungie D2 it’s not something that can be addressed at a moments notice so what more were you expecting? A decision then and there with probably half the staff not even there for Christmas? The thing I’m more worried about is that Tess was introduced to ‘fund the live team and live events’ so with the new lean to casual players I can see them saying; fine we’ll take out eververse however that now means no more small free content events throughout the year and with no funding for the live team we’ll let them go :/
