Honestly this is the most fun I've had in D2 PVP since launch. I'm actually doing consistently well despite everyone using this gun as I can use my actual skill to overcome multiple enemies as I can kill them fast enough that they can't just teamshot/ have enough time to run to a teammates aid to start shooting me whilst I'm still attacking someone else.
Further reinforces how bad the current D2 meta is on its fixation with slow time to kills thinking that will lead to balance, when the reality is the opposite as it leads to teamshotting in an attempt to reduce that, which just removes any point to having game skill.
TTK on all guns should be halved
Still terrible though when you're against a 4 man fireteam obviously on comms, but against 4 randoms as a solo player I can shred
Edit
Funny how when Prometheus was OP, I only ran into a handful of fireteams, now it's been nerfed I've been against fireteams almost every game I've played. Funny how fireteams come out to play once the gun that let solo players have a chance to take on multiple people is nerfed

Yep..... Bungie gave us peasants the keys to the armory. The aristocrats are all salty. Good times good times.

Edited by BEH0LDiTzSAM: 12/13/2017 12:50:17 PMYou guys know what the Prometheus didn't have? High Cal rounds, so at less you could out aim someone shooting at you. The fact that they nerf a gun, that whilst OP levelled the playing field, but still after how many months haven't changed HCR which LITERALLY removes any ability to aim on target for the receiver (once again negating the advantage a skilled player would have over their opponent), thus either forcing them to just put up with dying constantly or use a gun with HCR themselves so that they can equally -blam!- up your opponents ability to aim, then turning the gunfight into who has better RNG for their gun to be flinched closer to the direction of the enemy just shows how bad the priorities are. You may see people using a 'variety' of guns, but how many of those guns being used don't have high cal on it aside from last hope?
-
1 ReplyIf you like Pee-ka-Boo-Shooters so much, why dont you play one of the other 1000 games like that and leave us this one game?
-
Now you gotta be good to use it. Instead of resting on a "god" weapon crutch. It took absolutely NO skill to kill with it before.

Now that the obviously broken PL is out and is 1/3 the ttk that mida is, suddenly everyone wants to keep it. Why? Because it doesnt require gun skill unlike mida. Good luck in crucible after they nerf it! ✌

Check bungies twitter. 😂 it’ll will be tuned to be way too weak as we don’t have time to fix it properly. Oh bungo.

5 RepliesThat gun is balls. All the shit players with zero skills in pvp can finally compete. Yay .... -blam!-ing garbage
-
2 RepliesYeah of course pvp scrubs are having more fun with the Lens 🤣

5 RepliesSo let me get this straight... You have a game which's main strengths is weapon diversity and strategic team-based PVP, and you'd rather have a game with a single viable weapon and "i saw you first so i win" type gameplay ? And how does a weapon that deals continuous AoE damage that bypasses barriers and that can't headshot properly mean skill ? IT'S BUGGED. it's damage output is unreliable. You can win 1v2s thanks to dicerolls, i'd hardly call this skill ! If you want to "shred" and prove your individual skill, then why not play Titanfall, unreal or the likes ? THOSE games have a much higher individual skill-ceiling and are designed from the ground up to test you with the low TTK you want and hard-to-master movement systems to boot. Leave D2 alone. It was fine the way it was, back when defending heavy ammo actually meant something because people didn't walk around with portable death-stars with as many ammo as you can carry straight out of spawn. Halo had a relatively slow TTK, and i didn't see anyone complaining. That's the PVP i want. That's the PVP the gaming industry is missing. What you're describing is 90% of the other modern shooters out there, which do a better job at it than Destiny ever will. We don't need more of them.

Edited by Ascendanthive: 12/11/2017 11:50:56 PMPfft "actual skill"?? Haaaaah that gun is broken and that's why Bungo is fixing it. Laser takes .5 secs to kill an opponent, that ain't skill.

1 ReplyAll the noobs can kill in pvp again so it makes it fun. Makes sense.
-
Bump. Works good with PVE too
-
Hours and hours of PvP last night, so much fun!
-
1 ReplyYea i had loads of fun using the lense and very few players were going for heavy ammo leaving it for me to snagg

1 ReplyTh best think to happen to D2. I don't need to rely on skill

No joke this broken piece of shit meta is making crucible enjoyable again, sucks that we only have 1 day left to enjoy this.
-
Sort of agree, lol. Playing with it is a blast. Killing people who are using PL, while I use other weapons, is a blast. The lesson Bungie should take from this? GIVE us crazy powerful weapons we can get (better if you actually have to earn it via adventures, strikes, quests), that changes the dynamic of both PVE and PVP in ways no one can anticipate. But, instead, they'll nerf it to be as weak as cold-heart, and this fun experience will be over, never to return again.

People in here bitching about how it takes no skill to use, and I'm thinking: uuh...what was Crucible like before Curse of Osiris? People run around with two damn Auto-Rifles, another weapon that requires you to hold down the trigger and spray. The only difference is the speed at which it kills is beyond absurd, but let's not pretend that using a bullet hose with absurd range where shot placement means nothing requires much skill, either, any more than rushing in a straight line at people in Halo 3 with an Assault Rifle, spraying wildly is skillful. Difference being in Halo 3 you'd get destroyed outside of close range by a weapon meant for ranged combat. Right now, think of Crucible as Mayhem - it's just wacky nonsense, don't take it seriously. "But muh k/d..." C'mon, your k/d will be fine after tomorrow, surely. Go have fun with the laser light show.
-
If Bungie doesn't make an official "laser tag" mode after the nerf then I'm going to cry.
-
1 ReplyBy far the worst thing to happen to pvp since the fmg secondarys in cod. before they nerfed those. you newbies enjoy lazer tag whilst you can tuesday is the first patch since. daddys comming home with a trunk overflowing with full metal jackets.. >{

2 RepliesThat's like saying herpes is the best thing to happen to sex.

71 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 12/9/2017 7:56:02 PMOf course anything will be OP. You just haven't realized yet that you are (literally) playing the most watered down game out in 2017. Anything can be OP in this game with a 0.1% increase lol I can't believe how gullible gamers are today. This was created so gamers would stick around a dying game. They had nothing to offer other then for PvP gamers that are way too easy to sucker. This is PvP gamers today.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTUQyEr-sg0 You guys are way too easy lol What else were they going to do knowing how they been lying a lot about this game and getting caught doing it with the player base plummeting? I found this interesting...
BEH0LDiTzSAM Prometheus Lens is the best thing that has happened to D2 PVP Honestly this is the most fun I've had in D2 PVP since launch. Spawning into Crucible today and seeing everyone firing lasers at each other is the most fun I've ever had in D2 Crucible. Seriously, turn this into a game type. Give us OP versions of Cold heart and the lens and make it a red vs blue kinda thing. Hell, you could turn OP weapons into an entire event. Imagine all the weapon foundries coming together to showcase their latest and greatest. They want us to test them in the Crucible only to find out they're completely OP. Winning foundry could sell a balanced version of the weapon. Anyways, I get why it's getting a nerf, but Crucible has never been more fun and it'll be sad to see it go.
These guys working together to hype this Bungie... Is this cheap move your best move to try to keep a player base that is plummeting around?
-
Agreed!! I had a blast with that gun. I'm actually kinda sad Bungie is nerfing the hell out of it tomorrow. Guess I'll have to take advantage tonight.
-
IMO best part of D2 yet ...leave lens alone
-
It was interesting...
-
I agree it was a fun gun to use. But boy are you wrong about skill. This gun is for players who dont have skill. Anyone can use as long as they prefire or tag the opponent first. It's to me not a disappointment cause it's too overpowered. What is a disappointment is trashy players being able to have no skill and will only literally improve on how to prefire the right time. So can't wait to trash on small kids on next patch, if they fix it.
