As a Father of two, I️ know that I️ only CATCH my kids lying about 25% of the time (anecdotal) and that they are only getting better at it as time goes on.
Now correct me if I️ am wrong... we as a community have now caught Bungie lying directly to our collective face 3 times.
1 - The weapon balance patch in which auto rifles were “intentionally” buffed by 0.04%
2 - The SBMM disaster.
3 - XP throttling
A shaky 4th would be the lie of omission about the fact that they doubled the required XP to gain a post lvl 20 rank
Bungie keeps proving themselves to be the opposite of a trustworthy company.
Does Bungie need to make money? Of course they do, it is a business BUT the difference between a GOOD company and a BAD company is that the GOOD company makes profits off of high quality products and caring for their product and their consumers.
A BAD company attempts to use shortcuts, exploits, lies and excuses to trick/coerce their consumers to give them more money.
Now... you tell me
Is Bungie behaving like a GOOD company or a BAD one?
EDIT 1:
The XP lie was a combination of omitting pertinent gameplay information and intentionally not representing the lose of XP in the UI.
EDIT 2:
Keep the list growing everyone, I keep seeing more and more lies that I forgot about, a truly disheartening pattern of behavior by one of the most renowned studios in gaming history.
EDIT 3:
I am very glad they have cancelled the stream tomorrow in light of community concerns. I don’t expect it BUT I hope that they do a no BS blog post that addresses our concerns and at least acknowledges the fact that they screwed up.
Here is hoping next week is a better week for this community than the last!

Well our president can’t seem to tell the truth. Why should Bungie?
-
Is it weird that I thought after admitting that there would be some bright engrams in my post master to make up for what they took from me?
-
I'm one of those guys. Those guys that can't abide having their time wasted. Even when running a raid and not knowing all the mechanics and their timing to the picosecond, I like to get my shit together and for everyone else to do the same so that we're not wiping constantly and spending five hours in a one hour raid. That kind of guy. So when I'm told that my XP gain is being throttled behind the scenes, and then nerfed utterly when Bungie is caught lying their ass off, it makes me think I'm wasting my mother******* time mindlessly grinding this piss poor expansion to D1. And yeah, that triggers me something fierce. I've almost zero inclination to even begin making a second character. Sadly, I already paid for the two expansions and I'll play them when they come out and probably shelve the game while doing something else like, say, Warframe. Yeah, it has a shitty grind but at the same time I don't feel being ripped off and abused by DE as I am by Bungie. What in the actual **** has happened to the awesome game company that gave us Halo? Oh, I know: you got in bed with a worthless, monstrous and greedy publisher and lost your soul in the process. Shame on you Bungo. Shame on you.
-
They have been lying since Halo 2. n4g.com/news/506759/halo-2-e3-demo-was-andquot-smoke-and-mirrorsandquot

1 ReplyFool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.If people feel this way then just quit, but oh no i need attention by making post. There are many post already active on this.

2 RepliesKids will grow up with many mistakes. Those mistakes made a you and a me today so we all need to calm down. Bad or good, our kids are still our children. Good or bad, Bungie still make a game for us to have fun and don't always forget, life has a lot of other fun things. So why bother to get frustrated when our life is really short if you think again.

Since D 1 I always felt like Crucible was rigged. Now, the studio can do whatever they want because I’ve made my decision not to support them anymore.

A BAD company attempts to use shortcuts, exploits, lies and excuses to trick/coerce their consumers to give them more money.
With that companies get bad reputations. IMO I can't think of any AAA developer with a worse reputation at the moment then Bungie. Apart from maybe EA / DICE. For me that's come from the fact they used to be one of the best developers with an extraordinary attention to detail. They were never happy unless the game was fun and actually finished. Just watch those Halo documentaries and you can see how passionate and invested they were for Halo. It frustrates me to no end to see them fall so far from grace. Their no different now then the likes of Blizzard or any other AAA developer. I think that's why so many people are upset about what's going on at the moment.

7 RepliesEdited by A Rising Wind: 11/28/2017 2:59:53 PMYou're forgetting the largest one: The HoW raid. Pre order ads for the season pass in the Ps/Xbox store listed HoW DLC having a raid. When it was released with PoE instead, people were pissed they prepaid for a raid. I didn't pre order and liked PoE, but many were upset. Look at the comments in this article when it was announced: https://kotaku.com/destiny-s-house-of-wolves-expansion-won-t-have-a-raid-1697595217 Sounds a lot like people today.

1 ReplyMuch like Trump Bungie have put forward "Alternative Facts" ...
-
Yo download the update for your iPhone then talk to us

Bungie has been caught lying multiple times... how many times have they gotten away with it?
And? Has your life been devastated now?
-
6 RepliesJust came by to check on the drama. Why aren't you all playing Warframe? There really is no excuse anymore, honestly.
-
3 RepliesIf you add the misleading marketing to those the list at least doubles. Them claiming lost sectors are like "mini dungeons" was a complete lie, but I guess it sounds better than "updated VIP kills" or the claim the game had over 50 hours of content which was also complete crap.
-
I would say a bad one: There are reports written in 2015 about content that was cut from Destiny 1 (Osiris and Rasputin)...Funny how they are making their way to Destiny 2 as DLC's. And funny enough how the much raved about European Dead Zone AND Mercury that was also meant to be in Destiny 1 has also made it on to Destiny 2, as supposed new content. It kind of feels like the whole storyline wasn't just split apart for DLC for Destiny 1 but also to fill the whole of Destiny 2 (and probably further) When will we get to original content that hasn't been siphoned from the original Destiny?
-
Remember the PvP trailer for D2? They got everyone's hopes up and then destroyed them.
-
Don't forget when they got caught lying about xur being random.
-
Let’s not forget the “You can go over there!” during the first gameplay reveal of Destiny at E3.
-
2 RepliesWait didn’t we catch them with some titan thing in year 2 or 3?
-
All the stealth nerfs speak volumes about lack of honesty, integrity, transparency, etc.
-
XP throttling found out: Bungie sez "sorry...........we fixed it!" And then makes all stuff double the amount of XP! I mean is anybody fooled?
-
Ok so my thing is what about the clan level obviously this also affected that what are they going to do to fix that. We grinded nfs and strikes during the double xp thing & got very little xp if any at all.

5 RepliesFrom PC Gamer "Destiny 2 now requires twice as much XP to earn levels" By Andy Chalk www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2-now-requires-twice-as-much-xp-to-earn-levels/ "An interesting aside to all of this is the XP booster that comes in specially-marked boxes of Pop-Tarts, the sugar-coated cardboard "renowned lifestyle" brand Activision hooked up with back in August. Players willing to jump through sufficient hoops (because it's not as easy as just entering a code that was on the box, no sir) will eventually get a 25 percent XP boost good for four hours—but since that tight time window means players will likely end up grinding hard to maximize its benefit, they may have actually ended up with less XP than they would have otherwise earned because of the way the scaling system worked: The faster you earned XP, the deeper it cut. The bonus is presumably being applied so it's not outright dishonest, but deceptive? I sure think so, and I'm not the only one." Can anyone else say lawsuit....
-
They never lied about any of this
-
I don't know it's pointless since bungie will do what ever they like no point best thing to do stop playing destiny play something else

10 Replieslets look at the xp in a different way. with the throttling it took you less time to get the the goal, which is a level up. now lets look at a car. you use the throttle to get you to your destination quickly. now take away that throttle. it will take you longer to get to your destination. this is common sense, not lying. just stop crying about xp.
