I'm really surprised that we cannot sort vault items in-game. When I open the vault in the tower (not the farm cause why?) it looks like my neighbors garage. Crap piled everywhere in no real order. When you take something out everything moves. It makes it very hard to find specific weapons/armors. D1 vault was fine, why the downgrade? Was this by design or just a rushjob/laziness?
It's not really the biggest deal, I just don't understand how we can have nice organized pages in things like Triumph/Record books in D1 but in the NEWEST iteration of the game our vault looks like a child's Lego collection.
I like how they rebuilt the tower after the Cabal were pushed back out of the city but built the vault like the backroom at a super busy shoe store.
Thank you all for making this trending, now who wants to carry me in trials 🤣

You expect a better vault with common place things such as intelligent organization?
$29.99
1 ReplyKind of wish they had an alphabetical order option so you could see your duplicates next to each other but ah well.

With full seriousness the person that designed that should never be trusted with any UI interface ever again.

Edited by Hux2yaDome: 11/14/2017 3:37:20 PMThe Vault should be a very important part of a "Collections Game". I'm looking at you Luke Smith. If this is what this game is supposed to be then there is no possible way to collect all the weapons and all of the armor sets for all three classes and not be maxed out on vault space and with DLC coming...gimmie a break. LS calling this a collections game was him back peddling when people realized they have nerfed the endgame and really all that was great in Destiny to the ground. Give us a way to organize sort and file our gear and still have room to spare and then you can call it a collections game while you're tiptoeing out the back door.

3 RepliesThe vault is such a dog’s breakfast. They can’t even do a storage space properly. Bungie are either hapless incompetents or simply don’t care about the game.
-
2 RepliesI agree. It feels so sloppy. Like it was rushed or they didn't care.

Vault is bad Lack of options in crucible is bad Fixed rolls on weapons is bad Lack of being able to select strike or mission from director is bad Almost all exotics being trash is bad Raid drops are bad Raid keys are bad Lost sectors having no purpose is bad Adventures having no purpose is bad Token system for everything is bad Loot cool downs for everything is bad Engrams caps are bad Modding system is bad And once again fixed rolls are very very bad

Edited by Quaddity: 11/14/2017 9:32:20 PMI can't imagine why they made it that way. I'd be ashamed if I was the developer that did it and didn't take an extra 10 minutes to put some filtering capability. Something as simple as a search bar for strings, and some check boxes for types. I use the Destiny Item Manager website. That helps.

They probably just put vaults in to force you to go to the tower in the hope you might fancy a cheeky bright engram while your there.

this whole game is like our vault, a mess

1 ReplyEdited by kris_tunetso: 11/13/2017 8:29:19 PMSimple fixes for the Vault: * Let me organize things however I want. If that means blank slots between items, so be it. Any modern MMO knows how to do this. Go talk to your counterparts at Blizzard if you need help. **If slots 1, 2 and 3 have items in them, and I remove item 2, then item 3 should stay in slot 3, not be moved to slot 2 automatically. Don't screw up my organization because I took something out of my vault. However, add a "compact items" button so that items can be moved down to free up inventory slots at the back. * Let me move stuff around in my vault without having to move it to my character first * Separate vault tabs for armor and guns. Min. 200 slots each. * buttons to sort armor by name, faction, power level, or type (helmet, chest, etc) * buttons to sort guns by name, faction, attack rating, type (auto rifle, hand cannon, etc) or slot (kinetic, energy, power) Those alone would go a long way toward helping improve gear management.

Yes please for the love of the traveler, gives us sorting and maybe a collection kiosk for armor and weapons so I can collect. Just like in d1 where we could collect ships and sparrows, Oh and add that back too.

1 ReplyThis is yet another example of what should be a simple, no-brained QoL improvement from D1 that Bungie actually took a giant leap backwards on. It’s mind-boggling and frustrating. I cannot understand how you can swing and miss so badly in such a softball area for improving the game.

So messy you gotta wipe your feet before you leave.
-
Yeah I know, I can’t believe that it took them three years to bring it bac- Oohhh wrong vault
-
“Vault”? That’s a funny way to spell “Everything”.
-
D1 vault was bad but ironically better then this trash heap.
-
I got nothing in vault so finding stuff makes it easy lol
-
This game is so bad right now..

The Vault needs to allow us to sort by power level in addition to the options we have now. But even more important that the Vault itself the Collection system needs to be vastly expanded. With D2 having fixed rolls there's no reason why Legendary weapons and armor we aquire can't be logged via the collection system same as exotics. I would have a ton of vault space if I could dismantle all the stuff I don't use, but I don't dismantle it because I'd lose it. An improved collection system would go a long way in fixing the vault issues.

1 ReplySort by type, light, default, rarity and not to move if you take something out. Separate pages for weapons, armor, mods etc. Simple really, you wonder how they could get this sooooo wrong.
-
You'd think as they copied quite a few elements from D1 they may as well copy the D1 vault rather than the D2 mess. Even something as basic as deleting the shaders is a ridiculous chore
-
It's mind boggling some of the decisions they made, like with the vault. Heres a chest just throw all your junk in it with minimal sortability.
-
10 Replies"We see Destiny becoming a collection game."-Luke Smith Then why not give us plenty of vault space and a good inventory management system?
-
Yeah, I think that was the first thing that discouraged me when I finished the game. The vault is so unorganized and it doesn't have that much space as in D1 (which is understandable bc D2 only came out but still) I don't even use the vault all that much anymore because it's so annoying. I'm assuming that as D2 gets more and more, Bungie will fix it but until then, I just hate it.
