It would make it worth it to get all armors in the game like a mobility armor would add recovery/little bit of resilience if you wear the full set of raid armor.
Maybe do the same with weapons if you use full set of weapons from the raid have one of them activate a perk that would act like an exotic weapon.
Or do one for each set of armors it'll be different but it'll add some sort of grind again lol
Example: Full Set of Raid Armor is a mobility set the added set bonus for wearing full set should give you 3 to 5 Recovery and 1 to 3 Resilience depending on the activated perks you selected on the set. It'll give reason to wear full armor sets.
People that are saying you'll be stuck with the armor set what if that mod on the armor from that set can be turned into a mod to put into other armors?
Thank you everyone for putting in your ideas! Have a great day!

Not for me. That means having to wear ugly armor and having to grind for that one last piece that Bungle purposefully keeps you from getting. This did it with Gambit and it was a pain.

Necro bump

lol I have the full set of Crucible Armor + Ornaments and I literally had the same idea yesterday! So… yes, there should be set bonuses.

281 RepliesIt's definitely something to consider. Some have pointed out that it would make players feel like they have to wear an entire set and not equip Exotics or lose out on the bonus. That could be a small annoyance to players who want the freedom to mix and match their gear, do you think the added bonus outweighs that?

Hey man, I’ll just put this here, because I think you’d enjoy this a bit. I wrote this to cozzy, but it does seem to fall on deaf ears. It doesn’t seem to stop any other game from succeeding. What have you got to lose. You cater to the casual player way too much. Plus, any intellectual can see that you’d have 2, 3, 4 and 5 Set Bonuses that could mitigate this type of issue. I’m beginning to wonder if the “game designers” at Bungie have ever studied in their field, much less played a game. Here, I’ll do some work for you: 2 Piece - A minor bonus to the theme of that set. Example: Took Offence - Increased Reload Speed when in Strikes. 3 Piece - An intermediate bonus to the theme of that set. This bonus stacks with the 2 piece bonus. Example: Took Offence - Chance to increase magazine ammo capacity in Strikes when reloading. 4 Piece - A noteworthy bonus, themed to that set. Makes the Armour substantial when combined with 3 and 2 Set Bonuses, which will also be active. Example: Took Offence - Increased Weapon Damage when Magazine is overfilled for the entire Magazine, when in Strikes. 5 Piece - A Legendary Bonus for players who are dedicated to wearing that set. Stacks with the other set bonuses. Example: The Took Offence - When overfilled, the Bonus Damage will be converted to a small percentage of health. Would you look at that, I designed a set. Hot damn. Now Bungie, it’s your turn.

3 RepliesNot bashing this thread... But wasn’t the request in D1 that people wanted to wear anything (including blues) and be at max light/power? No penalties to wear whatever you wanted and also not have an endless sea of the same identical guardians? I thought they delivered.

3 RepliesNew set bonus leaked today... +10% resiliency while in the tower. +10% mobility while talking to vendors. +10% recovery while in orbit.
-
1 ReplyOr.. you know.. have perks on all armor like in D1? A full armor set buff as an addition to this would be fine though.

1 ReplyEdited by WulfPak666: 11/8/2017 5:16:24 PMI just miss my perk rolls on armor. * Faster reload * Faster melee * Throw grenades further * Hold more ammo * Health Regen on orb pick up * Gain bonus super energy from special kills * Gain bonus super energy from defeated minions of the darkness * Etc All those would be fantastic. The static roles on armor are ridiculous. It pretty much makes a good chunck of armor obsolete as far as I'm concerned. Take any armor that only drops with high agility and low Recovery/Resiliance. It may look cool but nobody is looking for armor with stupid amounts of agility (I feel your pain hunters) and unless they somehow change that armors stats, it is completely useless to me. At least in D1 if you like, say the Archon forge armor, you could keep playing until you got the piece you wanted with a good Int/Dis, Int/str Str/dis roll or whatever.
-
Agreed. I always wondered why we didn't get some sort of Bonus for wearing a full set of Armor, even in D1. Secondly, the Raid armor is pointless and zero reason to wear it. It offers no bonuses for completing the Raid, like extra fast reloads when in some Aura or damage resistance when holding some orb etc. Same with the weapons, which I would have expected to have an intrinsic Damage boost when shooting Cabal for example.

Because it might make you feel like your character is more powerful, and bungie will not stand for that kind of abuse!
-
I like this. Make it happen Bungie. Oh, I forgot, you don't read these forums anymore. My bad.
-
Nice ! In this way exotic will became more useless
-
Bungie can’t implement small changes and you want that? It would be broken and unbalanced without a doubt.
-
They wont allow any guardian to be unique or better than the others. Now get back in line no.6
-
Bro. Bungie is so lameee but upvote this for sure!! we ill make them dev's unlame
-
Yeah but that would be cool, destiny 2 is not

1 ReplyThe last thing we need is to feel like we NEED to wear specific armor all the time. The game will be a healthier environement, especially for players who like to min-max or whatever people call it. Finding the best combination of gear is just as fun as finding the most unique combination. If it can be done in a way where it's still worth it to not wear complete armor sets then sure, it would be cool.
-
Yes it's in The Division and Nioh. With 2 piece bonuses, 3 piece bonuses etc. Unfortunately it's far too much work for them to balance and as a result it won't happen unless they separate pvp and pve.
-
I just quit tryin' to get full set of armor.
-
I think Mass Effect dose set Armour bonuses.

Edited by Pondy: 11/9/2017 5:00:37 PMIf you have to give up an exotic perk to get a 5/5 gear set perk that would be great. It could also be a x/5 tiered set up where say you get +1 in something(resilience, recovery, mobility) for having 2/5 pieces, +2 for 3/5 pieces, +3 for 4/5 pieces and something like an exotic perk for wearing all 5/5 pieces of a set. For instance, as someone stated above, the full faction set could give you a perk that increases faction token drop. TERA (PC MMORPG) did this and it was really enjoyable to collect the full sets of gear and gain the perk that went with them.
-
Agreed, spending the past weeks farming full sets and only to find the bonus on the armour isn’t a bonus but more points in that area over the others. You would think ideas like, Full set resilience adds: 3% damage reduction. Recovery: activates heal on critical health. Mobility: increases max jump hight.

2 RepliesEdited by Ismail_Yucel: 11/9/2017 9:44:34 AMIn fact this is a typical application in MMO games like WoW, ESO, FF even in Division. I realy hope Bungie adds this sets in the future. Wouldnt be awsome, if there was an armor set for a voidwalker warlock. You complete a series of quests starting from Ikora, including some material grind, raid boss kill etc. Two pieces unlucks a longer blink distance, three pieces make devoir longer, four pieces (a complete set) unluck an addition ability for your noba bomb.

I agree with what your saying! With the grind to get a full set of one class of armor there should be some perks. The other thing that bugs me is why can' t you infuse across classes with armor, why can' t I take my 305 Titan armor and infuse it into either my Warlock or Hunter? Bring back exotic shards, when you dismantle exotics you should get something for them!
