Poll: What is the best raid to date, and why?
Without flaming, what's your favourite raid and why?
For me, Vault of Glass holds a special place in my heart. Even after completing it many times over, we would continue to go in and just explore - there were so many interesting secret / hidden areas to find.
The mechanics of the raid were some of the best to date (even if they were glitched - like teleporting between past / future).
The rewards were some of the most unique and sought after (Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence, Vex Mythoclast), and the armor some of the best looking (looking at YOU, Kabr's Battlecage).
It was rich with lore, and just an overall pleasant experience ...
I liked Wrath of the Machine, but the 'gauntlet' at the beginning of Crota's End was always a blast with a lot of laughs ....
What's your fave and why??
UPDATE: I can't tell you how pleased I am to see the responses and dialogue, and the fact that there hasn't been any major flaming here. Everyone has a personal experience an opinion on these raids, and it's good to see people realizing and respecting that. Great stuff, Guardians!

1 ReplyVog, its mechanics were not repetitive, and you are not just destroying boss after boss. Leviathan is a bit too much mechanic based, and only 1 boss, crota was fun but too short, kf is only killing bosses apart from 1 cp, wotm didnt have that raid feeling to me, it was fun but i didnt feel the need to keep going back to it.

VoG. It was challenging (excluding cheese methods) in the "Forever-29" days without having to add un-fun mechanics like "Limited Revives" coupled with "Haha, your teammate died. Revive them in 30 seconds or this whole encounter resets."

VoG, because it was the perfect blend of mechanics and firefights. Also, the weapons hands down. So good that right out of the gate they made almost every other weapon obsolete so they had to nerf/take them away from us to force us to use other weapons.

VoG, because Fatebringer is still one the most beautiful weapons I've ever experienced in a game. I also loved the gameplay in that raid. Had a bit of everything.

VOG for its pacing and rewards. Crota for when I was in a hurry. KF for the hive ship jump. Loved the music set piece in this area. WOTM for the giant Zamboni and armor pieces

Vog Mystery, secrets, architecture, lore, more secrets and redundant areas that may of held even more secrets Hunting for weapons and solve mysteries has far far more longevity than just shooting shit

VoG, great bosses, great gameplay, great rewards.

VoG It kick started the Destiny experience and without it who knows what would have happend next. The grind in vanilla was great too, you actually had to make an effort week-in-week-out to get all those materials to get to max light. It was an awesome time.

VOG is my favorite but I think kings fall was more fun. I think they mastered the raid with kings fall. Wrath was the start of the annoyance and ridiculous call-outs with the aksis challenge.

Just because VoG was the first doesn't make it the best. It was very easy and straightforward, I much prefer kings fall.

I liked WOTM the best. Have played them all. The weapons, armor, emblems, and unique phases (like the binary codes) were pretty cool.

3 RepliesI went with VoG, and no not for nostalgia, but because of how great it is, with such little story to back it up, I’m talking about the fact it had nothing to do with D1 story, and to catch up on it you read the lore which can be relaxing at times. [spoiler]Also vex master race[/spoiler]

WoTM is the best raid, with KF being a close second. WoTM had a perfect combo of mechanics and killing. Also, Aksis is the best boss fight in all of Destiny
