Glimmer is pointless again

Spent all that time fixing the economy in D1 just to go and break it in D2. Lol so many things right in the sequel and just as many things wrong Right: graphics Story - as safe and bland as it was New and revamped supers Sounds and music Adventures, lost sectors etc Public events Being able to apply shaders in more places Enemy tweaks Wrong : economy Lack of end game Lack of accomplishment. everyone’s gets everything (I am a dirty casual and think this) Not able to select specific strikes Exotics don’t feel exotic only look it No real innovation Lack of place to read collected grimore Just a few of right and wrong. Sure, only my opinion and will fall of deaf ears but putting it out there.

  • Not a bad snapshot really ... I echo most of these. I've got so much Glimmer and no idea what to do with it. I'm not excited when I get a weapon, nor do I really want to grind for anything special like I did the Gjallarhorn or Grasp of Malok (to the get right rolls for my PvP setup). I agree with so many of these. While I appreciate a lot of the lore ending up in game now - I'd like a place where it's all consolidated and can be browsed through. Yeah, it sucked going offline to read the grimoires, that was a problem in D1, but at least they were all easy to find in one place I suppose.

  • Glimmer is the only relevant currency. Mods (buying and equipping) Shaders, transmats all cost glimmer and lots of it.

I despair for Destiny when bungie think these ideas are making the game better.

  • And your highest character is 287. What do you know of what is useless? Maybe if you spent more glimmer you would be higher. :)

  • I use glimmer more than any other currency in the game... by far. I'm holding almost all of my tokens for... some reason. But glimmer is used to buy the little blue mods that turn into little purple mods. I can never have enough of thems. I'm surprised you even said this actually. I'm always out of glimmer.

  • it all depends on how many weapons and armor you upgrade that day or week. All depends on if you want to apply shaders to said weapons or armor or sparrows or ships. All depends on if you want to change or get Mods. Glimmer is the one currency I go through on a constant basis. spend 20k glimmer each week on Caydes chests if glimmer is pointless. Yes I know Caydes chests are fairly pointless but there you go.

It's a pretty natural event in a game with multiple currencies of varying rarity. Eventually towards endgame the easiest one to obtain becomes less useful and you amount metric tons of it. Diablo 3 is a good example of this, you become filthy rich in terms of gold. Which ultimately doesn't matter it's the blood shards and crafting materials that do. That said as people have told you legendary mods is something you have yet to bother with or something along those lines.

  • You obviously haven’t grinded for legendary mods lol, that’s what glimmer is good for

      • I assume you have a set of gear for each subclass that has the best Legendary Mods for each setup? If not, you should still be using glimmer to get more legendary mods to further advance your character. For example, I am shooting for a set of all Arc Grenade Speed. Double Pulse grenades which recharge much faster is very powerful. If I can get that mod on nearly every piece of gear, it would be pretty crazy.

      • Really? I find glimmer more useful than it ever was in the first game. The economy is fine especially since they are adding stuff to use legendary shards on
