Destiny is no longer targeted to us.
Just browsing the forums, casual players seem totally content with the game and are enjoying it massively while we hardcore players are up in arms over the fact that we were 305 week two and have nothing to do.
Bungie wants the game to be easily picked up and played for “fun” not no lifed by hundreds of thousands of Dattos.
It sucks but the game just isn’t for us anymore. Think, the new DLC will come out, we’ll finish it in a few days tops and then go right back to complaining about there’s nothing to do. A casual would have MONTHS of entertainment from the upcoming winter DLC.
We are the minority now ladies and gents and just got shafted by the developers.
[b]EDIT: As some people have noticed I HAVE NOT completed the raid yet. As far as the reason, at the time I couldn’t be bothered. I had no interest in the raid and was also already around LL 300 at the time. I know people will read this, roll their eyes and scream excuses which is justifiable but I do plan on doing the raid at my earliest convenience an anyone who’d like to team up and complete it together, I’d be happy to squad up with. I think a lot of us hardcore players got through D2 quickly and are bored because we played D1 and know how to play the game so we can run through stuff pretty quick it doesnt "feel new" like when we first played destiny. Hoping DLC's will improve things

4 Replieswow, this is a really long LFG raid post.
-
destiny players ruin destiny for themselves. as soon as anything new is released they find methods of burning through it at the fastest rate, while simultaneously complaining that there isn't enough for do. it's nothing about hardcore/casual (fact: destiny was never targeted at hardcore players anyway), its about people who have no self control
We are the minority now
The hard-core crowd is ALWAYS the minority. duh

11 Repliesaccording to destiny fanboy logic, unless you completed the raid you have no right to judje the rest of the game ;)

1 ReplyEdited by Willakkuma: 10/18/2017 1:43:38 PMAdd pvp enthusiast to the list = spot on. This topic of discussion was blown off by many folks months ago, while pointing out that Bungie had a clear path choice in distinguishing the franchise between game of choice for the discerning and dumbed-down entertainment for the masses. Shall I do a post search for those with recollection issues, including some in present company ? Of course, any hope held out for the path less traveled despite myriad Bungie warnings against same (both literal and implied) carried a tariff of approximately $60 . When Destiny replaces life!!!! Why not stand in the tower and smoke crack? Hand out some cvs and get a job? Go for a drive? Go fishing? Design a gazillions hours video game? You can negate all of the above in REAL life, and just do it in Destiny!!! I assume you do just that. Btw I'm glad you completed the prestige raid already.... Got all the hidden exotics...... Love from a hardcore gamer who is very satisfied, has got real money for value, and still functioned in real life (job, kids, wife etc) This game is ONLY about continuing. You guys don't seem to get it.

Edited by Sturm with no Drang: 10/18/2017 1:21:52 PMI’ll be honest, it seems like Destiny 2 isn’t even targeted for gamers period. With as much wrong with it, lack of replayability, lack of unique gear, lack of unique weapons and what seems like a completely indifferent dev team, Destiny 2 comes off to me as though it was specifically designed for people who have no prior gaming experience. That way, such people play the game with low-bar standards that they don’t feel disappointed with what they got.

9 RepliesDestiny isn't for anyone. D2 is to video games what Phantom Menace is to Movies.

I don't consider myself a hardcore player, but I'm not really sure of the definition. I don't raid. I don't do trials So I don't consider myself hardcore. I use to play 2-3 hours on weekdays and about 4-6 hours on day offs. You be the judge. All I'm saying is from my point of view I think this game is shallow and quite boring. It looks beautiful and gunplay is on point as always, but the inner mechanics that made you want to come back to play over and over again are gone. If you loose the drive to play a loot driven game, your not going to play it. There is no carrot to chase because they just hand you stuff. In the first destiny people ran around with VoC from the raid. I didn't get one because I don't raid. At the same time I didn't feel like I deserved a VoC because I didn't want to take the time to get it. I was totally ok with it!! You should get the best gear in the hardest content! You should have to "earn" it, not hand it to me. That's not fun!

You’ve only been “shafted by the developers” because you folks take this crap too personally. If y’all stopped acting like little divas you and this community would be better off.

1 ReplySpeaking of music, it seems bungie nerf'd that too. Definitely doesn't seem like a full orchestra in D2 except for the re-used music from D1. I don't think Activision wanted to spend a lot of money to hire an extremely talented orchestra for a game soundtrack. Much cheaper to have a few people with their laptops instead. Also, the failure that is D2 has pretty much made me quit gaming. Destiny was the only game I played and I bought a new PS4 pro bundle for D2 and I have it for sale now. They completely -blam!-ed this franchise and I never want to spend a penny on this again. Or let alone sink another 2000 hours and hundreds of dollars into it. I'll be waiting patiently for elder scrolls 6. Bungie went from being one of the best developers to the laughing stock of the gaming industry

1 ReplyThe game never really took much time as it was... people complained about item requirements for raids, so they removed the difficult to obtain exotics. People complained about light requirements for raids, so they made it incredibly easy to hit max light. What's funny is these same people that couldn't complete a raid in D1 still haven't finished the new one... Truth is Bungie is catering to a base that doesn't want to put any effort in what so ever.... Eventually they will dumb this game down to the point where raids are the equivalent of six man strikes with match making and no mic requirements.....

5 RepliesChances are these bored players that claim they are so hardcore just don't use their imagination. These are also some of the same people who were saying the strikes made no sense and stuff as they ran through the story and had no idea what was going on in the game world. Some of these so called hardcore bored players probably don't even know what power Asher was in his fireteam or how he lost his arm without googling it as they don't do everything they claim. Do you have all different gear sets on all different characters ie icarus drift on a hunter titan and a Warlock? If your bored your not trying hard enough

I doubt what ur saying very much after the dlc comes out everyone will be fine bet it fixes alot of the problems going on now and leaves everyone with things to work for just give it a chance and dont lose hope lol

97 RepliesUnfortunately nobody wants to mention the fact that "hardcores" are the ones pubstomping, trolling on streams, spreading glitches and cheats for attention, selling paid trials runs, etc. All those things don't drive the community, they drive it away. A game that's fun to play isn't necessarily a fun game to watch. The more a "hardcore" has to concentrate on actually playing, the less time they spend pandering to viewers, trolling, and teabagging for their youtube clip reel, this makes "hardcores" aka toxic douchebags, frustrated. Nobody will click their videos unless they're full of yoloswag360noscope antics, so they're coming out in force against Destiny 2.

4 RepliesHardcore crybabies. Get a job ya fools
-
1 ReplyPrediction: this was all done on purpose. Keep the casual players as long as possible. Then as soon as they fizzle out, implement changes to entice the hardcore players. They'll come back. We always come back. Destiny is an addiction.
-
Na bro....that statement doesnt even work in destiny 2 anymore.....my biggest casual friends already quit cause they were bored and there was nothing to play for.
-
Or get a job? Penis or vagina?
-
Not long til the next content drop and you don't even have 3 max lvl characters? Pfft get good you filthy hardcore scrub dog!
-
1 ReplyYou aren't hardcore lol
