People are complaining because bungie had 3 years to work out what worked and what didn't work, and most of the stuff that worked and players enjoyed was removed from the game in D2.
By the end of D1 they had added core mechanics that are core mechanics such as strike scoring, strike medals, strike specific loot, being able to choose a game mode in Pvp and to be honest this has been a core feature in any FPS for the last 7 years. The list goes on.
Bungie stated themselves that D1 was a sort of test/trial to see what the game could be. By the end of year 3 they should have had a good idea of what worked. Then suddenly dropped half of it. The fear players are having now....'is all this stuff it took 3 years and 3 DLC to achieve going to take that long and that many DLCs to return if at all'
D2 should have all the core mechanics that players loved in D1 and then all the new stuff from D2 on top of that. Story and worlds are a good size that doesn't have to change just the basic mechanics it took so long to achieve in the first place.
Lost sectors should have specific loot or at least planetary loot, adventures should offer better gear because there actually pretty fun. There should be very little or no reskined weapons and armor in the game, faction rally is coming up and it's almost all reskins.
If a player who stopped playing destiny after vanilla returns in D2 there going to be presented with the same thing. They miss out on the transformation destiny went through and the final product.
This is a sequel, sequels are supposed to bring something new to the table and right now bungie have not delivered this.
I'm not complaining because I hate the game. It's the opposite. I and many others see the unbelievable Potential in this game that bungie keep missing the mark on. Especially in D2 because this time we have seen what bungie are capable off. I don't want destiny to become a game like COD where I settle for the same thing every time. Where is the horde mode? Where is the large team battles? Where is the secret exotic missions? Where is the 'new'

1 ReplyWho's looking forward to the "new" factions on tue, probably doing the same thing as you already do for almost every other faction, for rehashed rewards that are already in the game,or mebe an exotic gun or piece of armour that was in D1,yay.

indeed, i agee with all you say bro,

To everyone being all like "Hey! Think about all the positive things?" That's complete BS. No one is going to improve on themselves by seeing what they've done. They have to see what they can do. To do that, you need to find out what's wrong and fix it. Like a wise person said: don't fix something if it's not broken.

This post is exactly where I am at. Even the simplest thing such as weapon loadout and super charge rate has made me not like how D2 has pivoted to this "Competitive" feel

2 RepliesEdited by SebaManiacPL: 9/24/2017 8:40:07 PMI think Bungie will fix that, 3rd DLC - Age of Resurrection - all strikes, maps, patrols from D1 Price tag - 89,99 $ ----- WRONG!! its bungie ---- 3rd DLC - Age of Resurrection - D1 Strikes - 39,99$ 4th DLC - Age of Resurrection - D1 Crucible - 39,99$ 5th DLC - Age of Resurrection - D1 Patrols - 39,99$

3 RepliesEdited by CornerCube314: 9/24/2017 4:52:42 PMI'm sick of seeing posts about people complaining about the strikes, or the raid, or about crucible, or stuff like that. All I care about is if I'm having fun, and I'm having plenty of it. Get on with a friend or two, and you'll see what I mean. The social experience is more important than the customization of your subclass. People micro examine the mechanics and complain about it. That is the attitude that makes Destiny no fun at all. I'm not dogging on this post, I agree with most of it. Sorry if I irked some people, it's just my opinion.

Edited by Dommel88: 9/24/2017 8:52:56 PMAmen, I have always been afraid of it and it still happened, we are beta testers for PC and thats all we gonna be on console

Edited by SooperSmurph: 9/24/2017 8:44:56 PMI detect no D1 crucible meta lover salt here, post approved, +1 But if it took D1 3 years to develop into the Palindrome/Snipe meta, i'm glad it got left in the trash for a new style in D2.

3 RepliesRemember when nobody complained about truth but they nerfed it anyway?

1 ReplyI knew a cabal raid would suck ass but all you fanboys kept asking for one......
-
4 Replieswatch datto's new video, it explains everything https://youtu.be/g24i44UlW0A

You know what i like , bungie doesn't say a single word , they don't communicate , companys like this pisses me off .
-
The only thing i miss is the ability to see how long people have been playing the game through the app. And connections in game. You can report for poor connection but cant see their connection?

For all of you who are so excited about D2, please enlighten us as to how? Spend some cash on a game that ended in 1 day. Wtf r u ppl talking about? There is NOTHING TO DO IN THIS GAME
-
Yup. Age of triumph era was the best in my opinion. I like D2 but I'm bummed that it's not as fun.
-
Nailed it!

1 ReplyNo one gave a shit about hakke pulse rifles or hand cannons in D1 yet they are all we seem to get dropped from gunsmith , or PDX reskins with god awful recoil direction. Exotic weapons are garbage in pvp , no choice of competitive game mode causes people to leave at the start of games which then leave teams 3v4 . Could go on and on ,

3 RepliesI was really hoping for an upgrade to the AI / difficulty. Maybe have them flank, sound an alarm if you let them get to it or something. They're still dumb as a rock and have the most predictable behaviour I've ever seen. I could've dealt with all the missing features if it meant they atlas worked hard on something like this.

10 RepliesHeres the deal. Stop comparing this game to D1. "Oh well, this story is so good" no its not. The story sucks but compared to D1 its miles ahead. "Oh well, this game has so much more content" Compared to year one D1 yeah I guess.. If your going to compare games the closest you have is borderlands 2. They took everything good for borderlands 1 and made an amazing sequel. Here in D2 they actually SCRAPPED featured from D1 that everyone liked, recycled assets, enemies, weapons and then slapped a 2 on it with a big ol fancy bow! The recycled content is so bad in fact im not entirely convinced that the EDZ wasnt developed back at the start of D1. Theres an old vidoc that shows a pan around the EDZ and it looks VERY similar. A game like this should have shipped with 3 raids and 3 unique story lines. I cant believe this is 3 years of waiting its sad really.

Seriously? To hell with this game. Destiny 1, even with its flaws had a way better release then Destiny 2. WE EXPECTED A LOT FROM THIS GAME and what we received from bungie was a fractured game, because it simply ignored the changes made to D1 that gave the game a great amount of quality of life. Add to this that exotic engrams now are pure cancer, they feel tedious and frustrating, i just got starfire procol TWICE today and at basically the same time. What is the reason for this? Really, im infuriated at this game. This made me question if the time i spend gaming can be better used on another activity. I expected so much from Destiny 2, i even bought the digital deluxe edition thinking that i would stick with this game for a long time like i did with destiny 1 but that was just wasted money. I don`t think i will ever return to this game...

Good post. Sequels are supposed to build upon the previous game, not take half of it away.
-
3 RepliesNo...thats not why. People don't like it because it's too basic. It's meh all around. Destiny2 is objectively an improvement from the first. But it doesn't accomplish anything of worth. To the destiny 1 fanboys it's worse because they're blind to how bad destiny 1 actually was. For those who haven't played since vanilla Destiny it's just more of the same.
-
1 ReplyI completely agree. This game took a HUGE step backwards from year 3 Destiny. I'm amazed at how much they left out of the game. I guess they'll never learn.
-
26 RepliesThe Taken King expansion added way, way more content, fixed more issues and made more quality of life changes than this "sequel" has. And they did it all without taking things away. Think about that.
