Anti-Farming lockout needs reviewed.
While I understand the idea of locking out rewards if you pick up too many rewards too quickly I feel like 4 in a 5 min. window is beyond excessive. I love running around the EDZ playing public events and looking for high value targets and have noticed a consistent issue of finding random chests and resources causing me to hit the farming lockout. I shouldn't be punished for playing the aspects of the game I enjoy.
Edit: link for those who think it's a bug or just complaining cause I want more loot.

Grinding and farming is one of the things I enjoy in a game and opening chest after chest for nothing to pop out is the most demoralizing thing ever. I thought it was just a percent chance, but now that I know it's intentional, I feel really let down. At the very least it should be displayed somewhere prominent in-game that this is a thing so we know to limit ourselves. Honestly, that's not much better though, it still sucks. I feel like a massive part of the game just closed to me because of this. What's the point of getting treasure maps and chest finders, playing through patrols and lost sectors if there's a limit on everything? Gathering the local resources even counts as a source, I'm never picking those things up again. If there's no way to just relax and mindlessly grind and farm, then I don't know how much longer I will actually play this game. That seriously makes me sad... I was enjoying it so much up until this.

2 RepliesThe whole point of Destiny is the grind. If you're punishing players for grinding as fast as possible, then you're discouraging one of the main activities of the game. Hopefully they reduce the lockout time or remove it altogether.

This really shouldn't be a thing. In 20 minutes, I have looted 1 regular chest, a Cayde's chest, and a public event chest... And so the last two Cayde's chests I picked up, over a minute apart, have been empty. It's -blam!-ing ridiculous! Bungie needs to acknowledge and address this. At no point should a Cayde chest be empty!

A better way would be to make chests spawn after 5 mins like put a timer on each chest before it will respawn

That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard why am I getting penalized for playing the game effectively!? What is the point of ghost shell perks and scout report consumables if you get punished for using them?

Bungie if your viewing this thread fix this problem, I'm NOT RUNNING GLITCHES. I'm just traveling to different areas and looking for chests also for stashes, Caydes stash should NEVER BE EMPTY.

1 ReplyDon't blame Bungie. Blame players who constantly exploit games and exploit farming caves and such. Its not like they tried to let that all happen but bugs and glitches happen. There is no perfect game without bugs and glitches. That's why some of the stuff from Destiny 2 is changed like shotguns in power cuz its all people used in crucible so to prevent exploitation they put it in power and due to players constantly exploiting the game they had to put this. It sucks but nothing I can really do. Its not really Bungie fault that they wanna prevent exploitation. I just really hate that all of us who actually play the game right get punished cuz people constantly do everything they can to exploit and glitch the game for better stuff.

I could understand, if the engrams and loot that we get from farming tokens, were above our current light level, but they're not; So they're basically just worth shards, especially when you pretty much have all the weapons and armor already. So it's not like we can grind to higher light by doing it. Seems like such a dumb mechanic.

2 RepliesThe only thing that bothers me, is the secondery loot. Dusk shards, alkine, those data things etc. They don't always give and just... annoys me. Is that a lockout? Because I'm not even using ghosts to find them. Frustrating.

12 RepliesYou know I went to each planet collected all the gold chests without looking then up on youtube,completed all the shit lost sectors and I call them shit because mini dungeon more like room full of low xp,collected many regular chest along the way,completed many adventures while doing this,also completed many patrols after patrols and never once got locked out. You may ask yourself why. Because you along with everyone else were taking advantage of the glitches chests that constantly respawned over time. Because of some shit streamer,YouTuber, or twitcher showed you these things and you duplicated what they were doing. I'm other words you got what you deserve. Stop doing this and there won't be a need for patches to fixes this. Because news flash done cyades cache yesterday where one of his chest was was where on of your glitches reswpaned chests were in other words it was a place holders. Second if this is you got locked out for doing the same patrol over and over again well that's why because you say around and waited to do that one patrol instead of going of and doing something else in the mean time. It's not that hard to level up if you actually work at it. It's also not that hard to obtain loot as well when you do more shuff.

[/quote] Well this part from that article explains why I sometimes do not get a planet material when I loot a few in a row, using keen scout on my hunter makes it go fast. I guess a little too fast.

It's weird I tried only opening chests for tokens and never got capped out. Seems to only happen if I open chests and collect datalatice etc.

Bump. One of things we all loved about Destiny 1. I guess, the game lacks loot. The farming cap is just cover up.
