STOP COMPLETING PUBLIC EVENTS BEFORE TH HEROIC VERSION IS ACTIVE
I have done 6 events in a row where moronic people just kill the boss before I’m able to trigger the heroic version and I don’t understand why. Just learn how to do them or don’t do it at all because you’re wasting everyone else’s time.

10 RepliesYou do realize the game has been out LESS THAN A F***ING WEEK. You do realize many players DO NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND THE MECHANICS. And you do realize IT'S CALLED A PUBLIC EVENT, not "MATT IS MLG PRO ONLY EVENT". You can either be a D bag, or help others by enlightening them on how to start a Heroic.

79 RepliesEdited by Xv Stealthy Xv: 9/11/2017 6:23:16 PMOP it is this simple to aid in informing others how to trigger a Herioc Herioc Public Events: Glimmer Extraction - Shoot the machines in area ( boxes ) Weapon Exchange - Unlock 3 of the 3 shielded Scorched cannons Cabal Excavation - Kill the Thresher Ship Cabal Injection Rig - Kill Psions shoot the vent up top after each Psion ( Top then middle then bottom) Disrupt Vex Construction - 3 circle capture points get 100% in each Fallen ether Resupply - Kill supporting Servitors you will need to kill the second wave of smaller servitors that shield the boss. There will be 3 of them that will need to die within 20-30 seconds after coming out. Taken Blight - Stepping in and out of the aura's they form gain the buff to shoot the boss Witches Ritual - Stand on both platforms kill both witches, then shoot crystals up top near portal ( 2 ) Something is better than nothing =) Edit: thanks updated!

I don't know how to trigger the heroic version and I'm sure I'm not alone. If you're going to take the time to make a post complaining about it the least you could do is explain how the PE system works.

5 RepliesDid you message each of the other players after the event finished to explain how to trigger the heroic version? Thought not. Much easier to come to the forums and have a whinge than to try and help fix the problem. Have you ever gotten an exotic from a heroic version? No? Neither have I. Have you ever gotten "great loot" from a heroic version? No? Neither have I. Have you ever gotten an exotic from a normal version? No? I have x 2. Have you ever gotten "great loot" from a normal version? No? If legendary engrams are consider "great loot" then yes I have x multiple times.. Have fun and may RNG be forever in your favor.

To Bungie's credit, most of the public events are designed with delays or windows which give you more time to trigger the heroic version before people blaze through the event. For example, on Glimmer Extraction, the 4th Captain target always shows up in a separate dropship after the first three are killed, giving you time to smash the machine. Or, in the Ether Resupply event, the boss is invulnerable while the three servitors are alive. And most of the other events simply take a while to complete anyways, so as long as you're able to do it solo without help, you can usually trigger the heroic event. The primary exceptions, of course, being the Taken Blight event where sometimes people will helpfully kill the blight dome (and the buff you need to damage the main blight) out from underneath you, the Cabal Injection Rig (which is difficult to trigger without help from others), and the Weapon Exchange (which really only happens when people pick up arc charges and proceed to beat the Spider tank to death with them).

I know from three public events how to trigger the Heroic version. If I am just playing without looking up any info, I wouldn't even know they exist.

I agree but on some occasions I'm just playing for coins and probably already lost the will to live so I want them done as quick as possible and most of the time I've done most of it by myself. I'm sure there's a few people the same.

3 RepliesI support this post, it's embarrassing - Even more embarrassing is the amount of people that have found time to post on the forums but haven't had 5 minutes to read a guide or watch a video. Though, I do think these mechanics shouldn't be hidden because it just allows casuals to do what they do on every other game and ruin it through pure lack of interest and or knowledge. Just have it come up in the dialogue box on the side when you start an event. i.e. [u]Cabal Excavation[/u] "Override the mining lander Guardians Overriding: 0 of 4 [b]Bonus[/b]: Defeat Thresher to activate Hard Mode"
