Strikes are not Rewarding enough!!!

With strikes i understand it drops possiblilities rare + gear and what i dont unerstand is how you can make me do strikes when the gear does not drop at higher than 265+ ,i am 269. So how do i get up my light level when I don't have a fireteam to do nightfall or raids. Please fix this, whats the point of strikes anymore...
I have read the replies so far and it seems 50 percent agree and 50 percent dont. What I'm getting at is the fact right now on d2 I have no way of getting good gear EXCEPT from nightfall - which I've done. Now there isn't a way to get good gear and strikes seem to be the 2nd option. So without raids / trials yet what do i do. Strikes seem not good enough. This is most likely from the high leveling speed we have in D2 as i havent really enjoyed powering up as it has been like a blur. Especially if you grind like me. Thank you for reading.

1 ReplyThere are some things that give "powerful rewards". Push your left trigger while in the director every day and see what pops up. I did five public events or something (flashpoint I think it was?) and got a 278 Sunshot.

Agreed! What happened to strike specific rewards? At least if the drops were guaranteed higher lvl maybe it would be worth to grind! This is just another part of the game being dumbed down!

I dunno what to tell you man, I'm at 270 and haven't even done the nightfall or completed the call to arms milestone yet. Have you done the exotic quests? They drop at pretty high level.

3 RepliesThey're running into the same issue they did in D1. They keep gating content by week, so you finish something once and have to wait until the next week to do it again. I don't see why we can't just have potential high light drops from any activity. I get they don't want people to reach max light too quick, but I love spending most of my time in patrol, and it just seems so pointless past 265, because there are literally no drops or activities I can do in patrol that increase my light level other than the incredibly rare exotic...

Yeah, I'm at 277 and have done all of the weekly challenges, so I feel like I'm pretty stuck until the reset. There is no point in keeping any blues at this point, I end up scrapping most legendaries I get b/c they are 10 below my power level, and even exotic drops have been below my current power level (minus the +5 power mod) now. The real fun starts when you get to 280 and can make/exchange for legendary item mods and you can try to get creative to level up, but it's tough as hell to get there with this new infusion system, and once you do, some tough choices will need to be made on what to keep and what to use to infuse.

20 RepliesI have done 3.. no point in running content that gives me no option of improvement. ALLOT of PvE content is actually defunct in terms of rewards once your 265. Tresure maps? Just more garbage blues. Mediations from Ikora? Yeah .. nothing. Very disappointing.

From all I have seen, there is only a few ways to get purple gear outside of the Nightfall or upgrading the purple gear with an exotic over Light Level 365. One way is to get a rare purple drop with a Purple Mod in it. That purple mod will actually increase the Light level of the purple item to 370. These can drop from Any event or purple engram reward. Outside that, exotic drops and some purple drops from the Nightfall are higher than 270. Exotics drop around 282 in the NF.

2 RepliesI don't know about you but my blue gear drop at 279. Every time you break a "power" threshold blue and vendors gear increase. Don't forget get that legendary mod increases the power by 5 so technically you stuff drops at 270. The only way to break a threshold is "powerful gear" and exotic have 50/50 chance on being good and after that get blues from any activity to infuse the weak gear and then hunt for more powerful gear. Faction two it's a slow grind but if you get the purple mods to drop like I had the veist sniper drop for me with a solar purple MOD in it infused my 277 sniper in it now it's 282 put me with my best gear at 275

My highest received legendary was 272 and my highest exotic (Mida from doing the quest) was 283 so far. I am currently at 272 power and already know I will be infusing certain exotics which will bring my power level up. On another note; after being here since TDB, Bungie finally gave us good enough incentives for me to join a clan. The clan rewatd system is another good way to get gear above 270.

7 RepliesThe grind gets really slow at 265, I'd, imagine it would pick up again and 280 because then you can buy legendary mods.

1 ReplyI feel that strikes should reward random higher level legendary drop that do not cap light level as there is no need to do them if you are already at 265 light. You get better chance of getting exotics from public events. Something like the chest keys that you open them and get high light legendary.

The only thing I want changed about strikes is the addition of the strike unique legendary rewards. Those were sweet in destiny 1

I found that as soon as I got to 265 my progress was at a near standstill. Strikes were good, its a shame that the drops aren't as good, or as fast, as grinding the much quicker heroic public events Which is a real shame as the strikes are really good. Guess the nightfalls are going to be fresh for a while [spoiler]especially when tower vendor gear, with exception of the gunsmith, seems not to drop above 265[/spoiler]

strikes need slightly better rewards. But not for those reasons. They are overshadowed by spamming public events/planet rep/gun rep. Mix in a bit of luck and some quests and its easy to hit high 70s.

Edited by ManBlaster: 9/11/2017 10:52:33 AMThere is a not so hidden mechanic behind increasing strike rewards and their rep tokens... be in a huge clan and reaching the rep "bonus" marks that you then gain increased rep token drops from strikes and possibly even more engrams once your clan hits the following clan bonus marks there after. seems like a blatant move to force clan participation for better rewards... but if you manage to partake in a clan that reaches these goals right away every clan season then the bonuses you recieve for the remainder of the clan season are to hard to pass up. This new clan mechanic is pretty clear. Join a large clan or be left behind to grind slow. There are also handfuls of clans that have sprung up just for solo players to reap those rewards with no other commitment so I'd recommend one of those if it suits your fancy.
