With strikes i understand it drops possiblilities rare + gear and what i dont unerstand is how you can make me do strikes when the gear does not drop at higher than 265+ ,i am 269. So how do i get up my light level when I don't have a fireteam to do nightfall or raids. Please fix this, whats the point of strikes anymore...
I have read the replies so far and it seems 50 percent agree and 50 percent dont. What I'm getting at is the fact right now on d2 I have no way of getting good gear EXCEPT from nightfall - which I've done. Now there isn't a way to get good gear and strikes seem to be the 2nd option. So without raids / trials yet what do i do. Strikes seem not good enough. This is most likely from the high leveling speed we have in D2 as i havent really enjoyed powering up as it has been like a blur. Especially if you grind like me. Thank you for reading.

Edited by Kelgorr: 11/7/2017 9:25:46 AMDestiny 2 is now as follows, go around solo (or with friends, but there is no co-op in it, just shoot things mindlessly) and spam events then get the main story rewards, then repeat on the same class but a new character or do milestones which again is mostly solo, then eventually you have to do 6 man raids. I remember some of the more challenging strikes in the last game where you could casually jump in with 2 friends and it was fun, now it's less grinding but no fun. Strikes were some of the most fun I had in the last game, this game I've got to like 274 power and I have done maybe 2 strikes and now I either have to do the game again on the same class (which is no better than the grinding in the last game because you literally have to do the same shit over again on the same damn class)... or do weekly milestones which means there isn't any point on being on the game once you've completed them. So basically our endgame is repeating the same story over again, waiting for weekly milestones that take like no time to finish then you stop playing for another week, or the raid which you need 6 people who can communicate well which is rare if you matchmake.

They'll never buff the rewards. If anything they'll nerf the alternatives, such as Public events.

1 ReplyThere also isn't enough of them.

Edited by greyhound87: 9/14/2017 5:18:23 PMI always get the same strikes over and over - the one with the captain boss and the exploding shanks and the inverted spire over and over again. i have only gotten the hive one and the vex laser beam dodge-fest once each. I have never had the ps exclusive one or the arms dealer to come up. Anyone else have this issue?

Why can't they be rewarding like they were in the beta yeah that might be a bit unbalanced so you get an occasional blue here and there but 1 or 2 legendarys (or an exotic occasionally) almost every run would give people a reason to actually do strikes

Edited by Blargness: 9/13/2017 4:47:34 PMHe didn't even know about strike tokens what a skrub and his promoting his clan down vote

6 RepliesYour actual base power level is lower than you think, RNG and infusion only takes into account the base power level of your gear. For example your Exotic Pulse rifle is NOT 270, its 265 with a +5 mod. Go ahead and try to infuse something 266+ into it and you'll see it goes higher, same with your exotic chest piece and any other gear you have that might have legendary mods. People aren't realising this, I just got it a couple of days ago and now I'm 281. Go look at your gear, take 5 away from anything with a legendary mod (all exotics come with them) and get used to looking at it that way. Infuse that gear and you'll see your drops go up.

I'd feel better about them if they drop 1 more token then they do right now for each strike. Thats my only gripe.

Edited by Poprdog: 9/13/2017 2:13:04 PMYou idiots. You do strikes for coins. Vanguard rewards scale up with you past 265

1 ReplyAnd I dont get any purple engrams from going to orbit! Rabble rabble rabble!!!!
-
Looking forward to all activities besides strikes receiving substantial nerfs xD

There's a few more weekly milestones you can complete to get Powerful Gear. Cayde's Flashpoints was one for me.
-
I agree not enough rewards for how long the strike is
-
3 Repliesyeah, easy fix. Nerf the public events loot
-
Edited by arichiso: 9/13/2017 8:03:06 AMThey need to bring back strike specific loot.
-
By time you completed a 20minute strike you could have have at least 2public events which drop gear for you to level up. And probably drop 3times as much loot

8 RepliesSadly the game becomes genuinely boring after power level 270. Strikes, lost sectors, adventures and patrols become useless to you. I pointed this out in a thread I made literally on day 1. I asked was I mistaken or were lost sectors now useless to me as I was light 260. I hadn't even done all of the lost sector or chests but, it was already obvious that they didn't drop high light gear and so were not worth even bothering with. Given that it's now clear that sales are down from D1. I am hoping that Bungie finally start to listen to those voting with their wallets and get their act together. I don't play a game to repeat the daily grind of work in my leisure time yet here we are having to actually grind out flash points i.e. force play of 5 - 10 public events. Crucible event (forced grind of 10 crucible matches depending on wins). Nightfall (frikkin' ridiculous rush mode with OP ads and slow supers - seriously you can smack a dreg in the face 4 times while being 30 power above it!). I'm going to state this now. I don't see most people staying for the grind and even fewer returning for the DLC. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it will not be nearly as bad as Titanfall 2's mass desertion but, neither do I think anyone will feel compelled to rush back to D2 in a few months time. I think most of us returned with the hope that this really was the game D1 should have been (blame overly hyping press for that view). The reality is that D2 is a good game but, ultimately the novelty has work thin and many are already having to force themselves to grind for exotic loot. Heck most planet patrols are deserted and the game has barely been out a week.

1 ReplyI get 5 tokens every strike and that pretty much enough for me. I dont see the problem
-
1 ReplyBecause they are easy
-
they have never been lol... nightfall, raids and xur (maybe flashpoints) are all you can depend on.
-
Just re-do lost sectors and adventures. Got my Titan to 280 that way one little upgrade at a time
-
2 RepliesThe game has only been out a week and seems like every post I see ppl are complaining about what they want to happen RIGHT NOW. Whats the rush? Again, its only been a week. To expect the game to be full blown out there right now iis a mistake. If ya could get everything and do everything now then it be pointless to play. Be patient grasshopper

3 RepliesI find public events and lost sectors give more loot and often better for the time put in compared to a strike. While I love strikes, they're just not worth doing right now.
-
Edited by Noctroglyph: 9/12/2017 10:28:29 PMYou know you can run the nightfall multiple times and get high light gear, right? One of my clan mates got an exotic from the chest the third time he ran it with the same character...

Edited by Jibunnokage: 9/12/2017 2:58:38 PM1000+ blues, about 20 purples and so far, 1 gold. That is not even 1% rate of return, even the Division gives you 1% return for exotics, and in some game modes or situations up to 3% hit rate for exotics. I realize Bungie learned to hate 3 of Coins, but at least give us some parity in hit rate... right now it sucks, just sucks. We should get purples or golds from every game mode at least 1% rate or better.

Your gear typically won't drop higher unless every gear slot has reached its peak. For example, if you want to start getting 266 gear, you need to have at least one 265 piece in each gear slot. AND, watch out for your gear that has the +5 mods on, that doesn't count as infusable power nor does it count towards your drops. The base power needs to be the same for all your gear. It's really wonky leveling from 265is to 280ish.
