• anyone can complains about bright engrams mod as p2w obviously havent even reach lvl 20 or even play the game. You can get plenty of mods blue or even legendary just from playing normally. And you complain of few blue mods in bright engrams? No one is gona become an aim god or spamming super every sec from having a mod. Its a mod. A little customization. Thats all.

      • Yes it may be shitty, but some people actually have a LIFE and a JOB and can't sit 12+ hrs a day grinding away like so many. Why punish those folks that can only spend a couple hours a day playing D2? This is capitalism folks get over it or find a new game to play...

        • Beware Spoiler if you havent finished the campaign
you can buy rare mods for 2500 glimmer, then upgrade them to legendary once you have 280 light level and enough mods. they probably threw them in to muddy the loot pool from engrams
If people are taking the term 'pay to win' literally, barely any game that you have to pay for will fit that description. The term is generally used as an exaggerated criticism. Here's a quote from Wikipedia: 'In some multiplayer free-to-play games, players who are willing to pay for special items or downloadable content may be able to gain a significant* advantage over those playing for free. Some critics of such games call them "pay-to-win" or "p2w" games. A common suggestion for avoiding pay-to-win is that payments should only be used to broaden the experience without affecting gameplay.' Even if only by a very small amount, It does seem that you will be able 'improve' your character quickly by paying for an item and instantly receiving it. I guess that means gameplay will be effected and not just 'broadened', since ability cool downs, etc., will be affected by some of the items you can attain. Granted, there isn't a rule about what items bought in-game should or shouldn't offer. Based on the way most people use the term 'paying to win' in video games, I can understand why some people are using it to describe the new opportunities that Eververse offers. A lot of free to play games give you the option to improve your character via excessive grinding, or by paying to receive items instantly. Even if Eververse doesn't offer the same level of opportunities for improvement via payment as some free to play games, I can understand why some people will be frustrated by the option to pay for items that can effect gameplay since the game is not free to play. I also understand that a lot of people are concerned about the way Eververse will evolve and what will be purchasable next. I can also understand some people's indifference to the situation, since they don't believe the game is, or will ever come close to being a literal pay-to-win game. You see! It's not that hard to consider contrasting opinions without being nasty. *significant is subjective

          • It's not pay-to-win, but it's pay to advance and only in the early stages because once you get legendary gear that blue stuff going to be outdated and irrelevant

What I find even MORE HILARIOUS than the microtransactions... is the fact that GOTHALION is in the image link you provided. It's nothing to do with you in ANY way that I find it hilarious and everything to do with the guy being the biggest shill I've ever seen. He was the most verbal advocate against microtransactions giving ANY advantage, and yet the guy has become the biggest back peddler and hypocrite when it comes to the STANDARDS he voiced

                            • This is how things happen, like getting old or getting fat or government cracking down on you. It starts slow until youre infront of the devastation going "oh hell look whats happened", First it was "oh crap microtransactions!?" then its "oh crap microtransactions that give you a slight edge" to "oh well they selling guns now" to "well just get all beasted out without having to actually earn it, oh well they already sold guns and other advantages anyways" And we just accept that's how it is now.

                                • lets make one thing clear , this is Pay to Win model. Anyone who says otherwise is simply kidding themselves or blindly defending Bungie. You want proof read the following senario : Player A and Player B reach Level 20 the same time. Player A choose to invest hundreds of dollar to Armour - Weapon Mods until he has the perfect set with fast reload - faster super - grenade generation bonuses on his armours and weapons. Player B choose to grind them without paying. Next day Player A and Player B enters into a competitive game play and play each other. Player A will have advantage over Player B because of the money he/she decide to spend on weapon and armour mods. This is the exact definition of Pay to Win. It is no different hen what GTA 5 Online does. GTA 5 you can earn money through grinding but any dude with tons of cash can come and bypass you even if he is a brand new player. The only difference is GTA 5 does constantly release new content for free where as Bungie charges you for DLCs/ On top of that GTA 5 has 80 story missions and zillions of side quests where as Destiny has 16. Basically GTA 5 has 3-4 times of content compared to Destiny 1 and 2 combined. If player base accept this model , next DLC will strongly ship paid exotics , and fan base will defend that with lame excuses...

                                    • The worst thing about microtransactions? Are the droves of fanboys rushing to defend them. What they dont understand is this: Option 1: Grind 50-100 hours to get the "paid shortcut" items. Option 2: Throw money at the screen (takes a few minutes). Now, lets say you play destiny 3 hours a day (thats a lot), it would take you 16.6 days (50/3 = 16.6) to earn the same stuff as the player who paid and got them in less than a day. That is an advantage! For two WEEKS the paying players will have an advantage over the ones who did not play! Now you may say "but I can still beat them" of course you can! However, throw this into competitive matches with players of equal skill and gear (excluding the paid shortcut RNG), the only difference will be the players who PAID for the stuff! And if the other players havent played enough to earn them yet (i.e game at launch) then those players who paid will have a solid advantage for a while. Sure, go ahead and defend this. That will only mean the next microtransaction will be your exotics. Which you will also defend.
