Well, today I stared searching why I get a weird tingly feeling when I hear pencils scratch on paper or hear people tap on tablet/phone screens.
I found out about ASMR and ASMR videos! Basically it's just some strange sound videos.
I've been hooked on a channel called "Gentle Whispering ASMR". It's just some chick who whispers and does stuff like making pictures from a sand art kit or stuff. I don't know why but it really chills me out. It's like an epic chill tingle feeling. Maybe it's her voice or the sounds ..... I don't know!
Is this weird? Do any of you guys like this sort of thing? I don't know why but I feel like a weirdo watching it in way.

3 RepliesIts called having a fetish. I was confused when I first found my fetish. Lot of people with weirder ones like this and mine (I'll never tell) cause people a bit of confusion until the realize that it is just that they are -blam!-ed up individuals.

If you like this sort of stuff, check out Elliot Moss of Lambchop. 2 great bands/producers that reminded me of this.

Just found out about ASMR a year ago. For the longest time I always wondered why I got the tingly feeling sitting in class listening to people write and use their calculator. I thought I was some weirdo. Now, I know it's completely normal. I have a list of videos I like to watch that have great ASMR that I listen to before I go to bed. It does wonders.

I'll just leave this here.

2 RepliesWhy would that make you weird? On another note, -blam!- what anyone thinks, if you like it & it doesn't hurt others, then do your thing & -blam!- the world!

1 ReplyAutonomous sensory meridian response. It's an automatic reaction that many but not all people get to certain stimuli. Those who do get it find that prolonged stimulation (ie more than just one sound that triggers it) has a relaxing effect. A lot of people even use it to cure insomnia. I personally don't need it to fall asleep, but I use it to fall asleep faster than I did without. The most common stimuli are sounds like you described, but there are also other sense that can act as triggers, even visual. I personally have found that my barber using his fingers to pull my hair up to be cut is a trigger for me. Long story short, no you're not weird.

Hungry Lips is the only real ASMR artist out there. The others are just posers

2 RepliesEdited by Pheint3d: 8/8/2017 2:57:00 AMThe other day I was wondering if anyone can make a sound I know how to make. I've never met anyone who can, and it's not used in beatboxing although I even tried looking it up if it's use there as well. I stumbled a long the same videos. Like wtf. One video had some chick that kept laughing at farting noises she made with her tongue, which was weird. The other was a chick making lots of light sounds into a Mic that wasn't as weird. Neither ended up making the noise though, but it's a trip how whenever someone sees something odd, in a matter of a short time someone else ends up talking about it, or you hear about it on the radio, small talk, etc. I guess you'd call it synchronicity. It's really cool when it happens, and you sit there like...hmm... I wonder.. Lol I didn't look into what the videos really were about though.

1 ReplyI enjoy asmr. Yes, some of the videos are weird. Just make sure to enjoy them in private. Throw in some earphones and use asmr to get to sleep.

1 ReplyListening to soft music and walking through a forrest on a summers day. I dont know why but I become automatically chilled. Either that or waking up and being so snuggled into my covers that I lay there for hours on end
