This beta has many people thinking they are dropping high Kill/Death ratios in pvp matches, when in actuality the new scoring system is providing us with Kill+Assist/Death ratios.
Since the release you've all seen it, a bunch of videos and screenshots posted to brag about dropping a really high K/D in D2 Beta pvp match. For example there's tons of videos with baited titles such as "D2 Beta Ridiculous 20.0kd game!". Maybe these people just haven't realized it's KA/D yet, or maybe they do know but are happy to mislead people to try and make themselves look good.
The killstreaks are overinflated bs too. I've had games where I get that 10x streak next to my name, and a teammate will tell me "holy crap nice". I'm thinking to myself "I can't be proud of this, I hardly even got any kills in the kills feed, all I did was put a bullet or two in somebody and my teammates cleaned them up". This scoring system definitely does not envelope the same sense of accomplishment as D1, when a 10x kill streak meant you actually had to 'finish' that number of opponents and not die.
My friend said "this scoring system is Bungie treating us like we're fat kids who don't do the best in a race, but receive a gold participation medal to feel good about ourselves". I mean I know the positive aspect is this scoring helps promote teamwork/teamshots, but I'm not in favor of this compared to the D1 scoring system.
EDIT: First point I want to make is that I believe assists are a valuable performance statistic, and are good to have in game. However, when you take two different stats 'assists' and 'kills', then pretend they're the exact same thing...i think that is just lazy and false.
EDIT: Second point is there are a bunch of people misrepresenting the end game stats to make themselves look good. If you want to brag and be proud of a D2 Beta match that's fine, just don't tell me you got 27kills with 9.0k/d, when you actually got 18kills 9assists with 9.0ka/d.

2 Repliesi hate this change!!!give back the K/D plzzzz

2 RepliesEdited by SergeantStretch: 7/22/2017 12:10:26 AMIn D1 if you got the kill even though it was an assist (another team mate also shot the target but did not deal the final blow) did you get credit for the kill or was it just another assist?
-
Why does it matter?
-
It certainly shows who's not pulling their weight though.
-
1 ReplyK/D / KA/D ratios are irrelevant, win ratio is the true gem of stats. I'd rather run with a guy that is 0.75 K/D with a 70% win ratio than a guy with a 1.85 K/D and a 55% win ratio. K/D only matters in game types where kills count towards the win.

2 RepliesThat's what YouTube is all about...misleading people to click on their spam video that 1,000 other people made. You can teach chimpanzees how to copy and paste so why wouldn't derelicts do it.

1 ReplyEdited by AkAmpZ: 7/21/2017 10:00:48 PMWho cares? Why does it matter to you what other people decide to flaunt? How does that effect you besides running around popping everyone's balloon and calling them out? Sweet someone got a "20" efficiency rating. That's not a "20 k/d" rating because it clearly says EFFICIENCY. Can't play everything in life by the numbers...
-
1 ReplyEveryone will adjust. Is that the only stat they provide?
-
Ye its -blam!-ign stupid how they did that, just makes plebs feel good about themselves.

Edited by Kage Verix: 7/21/2017 10:55:10 PMFirstly, we no longer get kills, we get eliminations. Elimination systems give credit to everyone sho participated in a Elimination. Secondly, you player efficiency is not your k/d. It's a scoring that combines eliminations vs Deaths, your accuracy, and how well you played the objective. Had a game where a guy on our team got 11 eliminations, 6 assists, and 9 captures. Player efficiency 7+ On our team I had 22 eliminations, 9 assists, and 2 captures. Player efficiency 3+

1 ReplyI thought KD didn't matter? What happened to that?
-
Then go by the damage stat to show your workload
-
So it's Overwatch's elimination system now. Cool.
-
2 RepliesYou have to do major damage or get the kill shot, not just hit with 1 round across the map. Nothing like the image you portray. And people are getting legit high kd's in bomberman mode, it's trials with an objective(distraction) easy kills because the map is new to many. I had my favorite spot already picked out, and it was fairly easy pickings.

1 ReplyEdited by Hordy55: 7/21/2017 10:19:46 PMAdversely I feel like there were people in D1 who had a knack for snaking the last shot on people. Just sayin', kinda goes both ways Edit: I prefer games that give you the kill when you do most of the work and your teammate pops one final shot at the end. Better system
-
2 RepliesMy favorite part about this system is I can get 2 assists in quick succession and I get a double down medal. lol
-
It sucks really. I mean, can't I just know how well I'm doing?
-
1 ReplyD2 needs bf4's kill system. Doing the most total damage to a enemy nets a kill. The least amount of damage nets assists
-
D2 is more team oriented no more being Rambo sorry I'm ok with it having combined kills and assists ratio but I would like to see a final blow stat to show off how many kills you actually had.
-
1 ReplySo it just works like elims in Overwatch? Cool, I personally like that system.
-
This is an improvement in the eyes of many, myself included. There are certainly more important things to complain about.
-
Calm down buddy, quick play and competitive have a different stat record on final version of the game and the KA/D will probably stay only on quick match record and finally you complain about a thing that is not really a problem.
-
Really your gonna complain about that?
-
actually i do no care about KD (KAD) and if it helps getting those sweaties off their high horse.. i am all in =D
-
Well honestly, I'm frequently topping most my games with a 3+ KD and most of the time I solo kill or team kill. There are many players I've seen with negative kd's so honestly, I don't see this as a problem.

have fun with DestinyTrialsreport.com that ruined this game's community to the swamps of swine
