D2 Beta: I'm Falling Out Of Love With Destiny
Guys and Gals, I am going to try to keep this short.
I am not going to say what is wrong or what is right in the beta because hey, it's different strokes for different folks. Personally, I tend to make my decisions on instincts and gut feelings even though I know most might disagree with this method. Also I know it is impossible to please everyone because we live in a widely diverse society.
To me Destiny is starting to feel like a girlfriend or boyfriend who has all the makings to be a perfect wife or husband, but for some unforeseen reasons they keep letting you down. You keep putting up with their B.S., mood swings, and so much more because you know better than anyone else what they can become if they truly apply themselves. Eventually, you will lose faith in them and move on to something different due to the numerous shortcomings. Time and time again, you might see them around and think about the memories you once shared, but the feelings of betrayal and heartbreak would encompass your heart. Due to the misguided trust and bitter taste you will never again give them the chance to rekindle the once blazing fire.
Bungie, Don't make millions fall out of love with Destiny to please thousands because we truly love it will all of our hearts. Please keep in mind a broken heart never heals, it just hides it wounds behind smoke and mirrors.
Give us that feeling we had on the release of Destiny 1, not the feeling we had on the release of Rise of Iron because it was mediocre.

2 RepliesPretty sure I posted a similar comment to a similar post before, but here's this: The girl/boy made some big mistakes. Sticking with girl for the rest of this. She was a sweet girl at first - eager, adventurous. Maybe a bit naive, but ready to take on the world. It was love at first sight. Things happened in her own personal life. Maybe she got in with the wrong crowd. Maybe she lost some of the closest and most important people to her. It changed her for the worse. The more you got to know her, the more the bad things came to light. But you still had a blast together, at first. Still, more and more came to light. You then realized as a person she was broken at her core. Maybe she could never be that sweet girl you fell in love with again. Maybe that girl was dead. Still, you stayed. And she continued to make little changes here and there. Some good, some bad. You knew deep down inside that although she had major flaws, she was who she was. And you were okay with this. You decided to live with this and take care of her and support her, because she meant the world to you. You could have just walked away at any point. Finally, she comes to terms with herself and her inherent problems, and goes to rehab/a psychologist to fix herself. You don't see her for a long time. Then she finally returns. A brand new person. No longer broken. A few new bad habits, but nothing close to what she was. And besides, she could always work on that. And she seems happy, for once. She has so much to tell you, and she's excited about it. She's excited to show you that she could change, and prove it to you. That spark and promise of adventure is visible in her eyes. But you are cautious, and it is at this point that you choose to abandon her. Not when she was at her worst. Not when she broke the promises she made. Not when she took your money to fuel her addictions and bad habits... But now, in her time of redemption.

3 RepliesAltering both the gun mechanics and movement speed. The two main things that IMO made Destiny a good game to play despite the issues. Now with both changed based off of D2 beta gameplay. Destiny 2 is a piece of crap.

4 RepliesIt is, as my favorite quote goes... Sometimes you have to give up on people, not because you don't care, but because they don't. And you're right in your assessment. I'm continuously trying to see the good in this game, but can't shake off the feeling that I've seen this all before. And as with any relationships, trust has been compromised. So, the question is, are you willing to risk putting yourself in the same situation or do you just walk away?

3 RepliesIt just doesn't feel like destiny. The characters don't feel powerful. It's like I'm playing a marine with the occasional ability that doesn't even matter. The abilities don't make a difference in the gameplay it's just a minor inconvenience. It's infinite warfare 2

5 Repliesyr 1 alpha and beta player. I know its a test but it felt no different to what we already have, with which i got bored with months ago. Brann the unbent blade..... really..... nessus strike..... gtf bungie. I imagine ill play the story and that'll be it. certainly won't be pouring hundreds of more hours into what will just be another piss poor expansion.

12 RepliesI am in perfect agreement. I took vacation both for the beta and for the full release and needless to say I am going back to work tomorrow. I simply can't believe that all they have done is reskin D1 and add some new graphics and story. I played the first mission as a warlock and upon completion am back on my pc playing CIV 6. Fairwell Destiny. It was a great time while it lasted but like you said in your post, enough is enough.

1 ReplyI will sum it up for you: Man this is great I cant wait to snipe that cabal in the distance let me grab my secondary sniper rifle ohhh wait its in my power slot let me grab it. This gun looks cool time to pop some heads (click click) ohhh wait no power ammo meanwhile teammate kills the cabal in the distance. This is pretty much how I feel about this beta :(.

All I know is, d1 beta, I played and played and played, you couldn't get me off of it. When the server shutdown, I just couldn't wait for it to come out and do it all again. It comes to the d2 beta, and yes okay there isn't as much playable, you don't have to level your guardian or anything like that, but turned on chose hunter, ran the mission, ran the strike, tried some crucible, and that was it. I didn't want to play anymore, I could've tried out Titan or warlock and played with their subclasses, but I just wasn't that into it. I kind of wanna cancel my pre order but can't so I guess I'll play it, see what they have to keep me playing in the full game. Very very disappointed bungie. Two primaries is just about the most boring thing I've ever experienced in pve. Please change this, keep it for crucible because them girlies can't stop crying, but it needs to go in pve and quick.

This post was too damn dramatic for my taste, yes, there are some things that are disliked by many but it's a damn video game. If you loved Destiny 1 you know damn we'll you're going to play 2, maybe not as much but you will play it.
