Is Luke smith really that stupid?
Ok, so I am starting to really dislike like smith after his latest interview about Destiny 2. Is bungie's new purpose to just shaft everyone loyal and passionate to destiny? Do they only support the whiny PvP noobs that get them more money? I don't think I've ever been this angry/passionate about destiny before.

Oh, I don't think Smith is stupid at all. He, and no doubt many others at Bungie, got sick and tired of scrambling to clean up the mess caused by the series of pre-launch train wrecks that derailed Destiny's story. At this point, they're basically confirming what we've suspected all along: they'll fix whatever they goddamn jolly well want to fix, and ignore whatever they goddamn jolly well want to ignore. It's also painfully clear that Smith holds gamers in total contempt despite the fact that we pay for his hoodies and Kentucky Fried Chicken. For that reason, he enjoys the hell out of making announcements like the one referenced in the OP. At the same time, three years of sales history reveal that that Destiny's gameplay is good enough that we'll continue throwing money at the screen regardless of what a shitshow Destiny is in other respects. Thus, Smith knows there's isn't much he can say or do that would adversely affect the bottom line.

1 ReplyI just think they are very dismissive about alot of things where it comes to their game. It was shown with the timed exclusives of dlc content that was supposed to arrive on xbox after a year, after the year was concluded all we got was yeah well it's not coming now till a year after rise of iron which is when destiny 2 comes out. It also shows with how dismissive they have been talking about the xbox one x (not talking about the 60 fps here cause I kinda agree it'd be unfair to those without one) It's just when people who are obviously gonna be excited about the release of both the only reaction given is we don't want to talk about that, we'll talk about it once the game is released. Really think with all the money they bragged about having for marketing they should maybe have used some of it to hire a PR rep to teach they how to interact with game fans.
