I'm posting this here because it's really depressing reading countless posts bitching about Destiny 2 when almost no one has actually played it yet.
I just posted this reply elsewhere, repeating it here.
I've tried to explain in countless posts that D2 is not D1. Yes, it's still very much Destiny, but it's also very much a new game and for everyone that keep judging it and shitting on it based off presumptions from D1 experiences with no actual idea what it is they're bitching about is not only pointless, it's detrimental to the new game.
None of you are even giving the new systems a chance, you're just saying "oh it sucks" without any first-hand experience of what it is you're all trying to ruin before ever knowing what it is.
The new weapon system is different. I get that makes people apprehensive, but it was literally my favorite thing I experienced with D2.
The updated subclasses take the ones we know and love and makes them fresh and exciting again, particularly with the new defensive/support abilities.
The Cabal are not the Cabal we've fought the past 3 years. Anyone expecting the same phalanx walls is in for a shock.
The Exotics from what I saw feel Exotic again.
The game is beautiful.
The levels are large.
There are way more enemies on screen.
The boss fights are dynamic and not D1 bullet sponges.
And maybe you won't agree, maybe you'll hate some or all of it, but right now if you haven't played it, you don't know. So it's one thing to post apprehension, but the posts asking for change or proposing "compromise"... -blam!-.
We've asked for 3 years for the game we all hope D2 can be, at least give it and the changes Bungie have made a -blam!-ing chance before ripping it apart.

2 RepliesEdited by Shaft62702: 5/27/2017 12:45:27 AMIs everyone here still using the iphone 2 (I realize everyone does not actually use an iphone) that came out the same year bungie created the game engine for Destiny(2009)? If not, why? My guess would be new technology. 2 megapixel camera's have become 12 megapixel camera's. You can now use your fingerprint to sign in. You have bluetooth. It has a gyro that tracks steps, it has GPS plus 100's of other advances. With Destiny, you dolts think we should all be jumping for joy that we are still using 2009 technology in a game that is coming out in 2017. What am I missing here? Same graphics, still 30fps, still no dedi's. Please give me one technological advance that was applied to Destiny 2? Why would you be okay with bungie using such outdated tech?

The only thing I've seen so far that I didn't like was the new subclass blocks, not because of the the fact your limited to two sets of four perks, I like that because I'm always going to have a viable subclass build, but the fact that the some of the perks seem to be worse just to fit a theme, like all eight of the gunslinger perks seem perfect for the subclass and I really like where they went with it, but the striker has a set of perks in which three are melee focus and melee isn't really that viable compared to just shooting things or grenades, it feels like the striker has worse perks just to fit that titan punching things theme, not because they're good perks.

If you haven't played D2 yet (which is about 99.9% of the player base) then you can't talk. Wait until after the beta release then voice your opinion. #Facts
-
Destiny, and by extension D2, are both extremely polarized in player opinion. You either love it, or hate it. There is no middle ground. Which sucks when someone is trying to discuss something. Half will agree, and half will believe the other half are fools. Which way depends on the subject and individuals. I won't say whether or not I'm excited for D2 for this reason. However, you cannot judge what Bungie has done simply from a trailer. Even the facts the provide aren't enough. They're just facts. Words and information. It would be a good idea to hold all opinions until the public Beta. Then, by actually experiencing the game firsthand, you can make an informed opinion, which is better than a presumption. It'll also make your opinion more credible.

I have played since day one and I pulled both my preorders because of what I saw in the reveal I might order after I play the beta

1 ReplyBump for no salt D2 post. P.S. I bought $100 dollar version the day after it was announced.
-
I was looking forward to buying a modded controller for D2 but when I saw the slow primary ttk, I said, "Well that genius of an idea is out the window!" That's like a cop, a lady, and a guy, man? That's like a massacre.

4 RepliesI feel that even the game was broken and there were good and bad glitches I enjoyed the experience can't wait for the chance to make new ones am I right ?

One point: Bungie lies. Especially to us -- I do agree, wait and see but if they don't fix connections for Destiny 2, I'm done forever. I make a comfortable enough living that I can waste $60+ on a game but I don't want to. That's all I ask for, fix the connections. I pay allot for good internet, I have the optimal setup and still, red bar after red bar, teleporting, immune, every -blam!-ing game. Make the shitty connections play only, the shitty connections. If I 'report' someone for a shitty connection, don't, I repeat, don't match me with them ever again. Especially not the very next game. If someone lives in the center off America, they should play players from all over America. Hell, even Canada. They should not however play people from Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Chile, etc, ever. How this makes sense to Bungie is beyond my comprehension. I'm tired of the fake green bars as well, we know when someone has a shitty connection because we cannot kill them. And stop letting us join games after the two minute mark. Joining a game that's already a mercy in the making, when the enemy team has their supers and/or heavy is retarded.

Holy crap FINALLY SOMEONE WHO THINKS THE SAME! I swear, all these little bitches crying need to be left behind in the hell hole Destiny is. It really pisses me off when I see someone who wants a sequel to be exactly like the original. Like, no. If you dont like the sequel, then go back to the original. DO NOT ruin Destiny 2 for all of us who actually like change.
-
Bungie had 3yrs to get it right with d1 , there will be no difference with d2 , we are on 3 gen consoles and still playing at 30fps lmao 😂 ok dont be biased
-
Players were yelling for changes for the past 3 years and instead of giving us what we want we got 4v4 activities. We want massive 8 vs 8 12 vs 12 crucible and patrols / strikes, but no we don't get it. They introduced tanks, but 4v4 with tanks?? This is beyond me. Why would anyone defend bungie in this particular aspect?
-
3 RepliesMost people complaining are just fishing lol... they will be the day 1 beta
-
4 RepliesI've never disliked the game, D2 will be another great game. Negative feedback on issues over the last few years is why D2 has some good gameplay improvements. By using a subpar networking code and P2P connections makes this online playable game almost unplayable more often than not. Activision needs to hear about it. This is one of the few places to give feedback to either Bungie or Activision. If you find the posts negative just mute the users and it's all sunshine and rainbows.

2 RepliesI get what you are saying but you could of said it in a less-asshat kind of way... For me I am currently disappointed that social/coop spaces appear to be much the same size/smaller and weapon customizations may be limited (only seen a handful of weapons and yeah there are some shit perks reappearing) - No problem with losing everything but don't make me grind for random weapons with random (crap) perks where the majority of them will be re-skins. - If we don't get 32 player spaces on patrol and options on bigger (than 3) fireteams then I'm struggling with getting excited. Not sure if your experiences thus far can enlighten on these, but some of us still have real concerns that this is more a DLC...and I'll be up for $140 to play it.
-
6 RepliesSo you're telling people to shut up if they have a different opinion than you. That sounds like fascism, it doesn't matter that you got to play or see the game for two whole hours. Others have the right to their opinion whether it's good or bad.
-
5 RepliesI think it's important that we let Bungie know what we expect out of the next game.

31 RepliesI get what you're saying but by that same logic, you can't say that the game is good either. You haven't played it! So you can neither judge that it is good or that it is bad if you're going to be consistent with your logic. What you see LOOKS good, just like what other people see may LOOK bad. It's all speculation at this point and someone can tell you to shut it for praising D2 just as much as you can tell them to shut it for complaining about it. Don't be a hypocrite
-
People won't know if they really like it or not until they actually have some hands on time with it. I myself am a little unsure about some of the changes but maybe that's what this game needs. Everyone bitches about how D1 needs this and that and now they make some changes to the gameplay and everyone pitches a fit. You cannot win it seems.

Edited by Doctor Electric: 5/27/2017 1:36:03 AMThat feel when your point was that we shouldn't complain about something that hasn't come out yet and make near baseless assumptions like any forum would. But instead, the point not only flies over everyone's heads and they keep making assumptions. Freaking Geeks

I think the reason why so many people are so critical about Destiny 2 is due to many of the issues with Destiny 1. Bungie lost a lot of faith in the community due to some of the shit they pulled in Destiny 1 so I don't blame some people for being critical about Destiny 2. Bungie does not have the benefit of the doubt anymore so if people see something they don't like or have any concerns with the game, they're gonna be vocal about it. That being said, I do want to take the time to explain why the people saying that Destiny 2 "looks like it's just an expansion" because it looks like Destiny 1 are idiotic. First of all, you have at least 4 new playable areas, tons of new loot, brand new cinematic story, new enemy types, new activities to do in patrol (which has also been expanded upon)... oh, I'm sorry. You wanted to know what's different with the gameplay? Well in that case: Crucible has been completely revamped, You now have a map that will allow you to start any mission without going to orbit, gear and the loadout systems have been completely changed, even the network architecture has been changed (according to the TWAB it's some sort of P2P/DS hybrid thing?). Need I go on? So should people be vocal about their concerns? Absolutely. Should people just assume that Destiny 2 is going to suck, worst game ever, Destiny is dead forever? Absolutely not. If you don't like something about the game, say something while changes can still be made. But don't just say Destiny 2 is gonna suck just because the pre-alpha version of the game doesn't look good to you. Wait until the beta, and if you still don't like it, dont buy it (and don't be one of those dick heads that goes around on the forums going "lol, Destiny sucks" "Destiny is trash".)
-
Please, like we need to try when it comes to ruining Destiny.
-
I'm pretty sure the reason they show us stuff from the game before it is released is that they don't want to generate any conversation about it. They want us all to be quiet and not talk about it until release.
