BEST. IRON. BANNER. EVER XD
I gotta say, as chaotic and ridiculous as Mayhem Clash has been this week, this is some of the most fun hands down I've had in the crucible in a long time.
Do I think we should have it all the time? NO. Definite no. BUT, it has been a kick. It's something you get to play with some friends and goof off and not really have to sweat performance. It's MAYHEM. The supers are everywhere, the lag is incredible, there's special and heavy ammo strewn all over, the ability spam is just so God Damn hilarious it's impossible not to get a laugh out of it. You win some, you lose some, and all the while getting a -blam!- ton of loot!
Ahhh I love it.
And for those who find themselves frustrated, don't take it so seriously. Throw something obnoxious on and get some hilarious kills. I was throwing flashbang after flashbang on floating gardens and just rolling on the floor laughing at the number of people who fell off the map as a result. It's fantastic. Enjoy yourselves guardians, see you in the crucible!
EDIT: Post your favorite ridiculous loadouts below! Personally, I recommend Defender with suppressor nades and Sleeper Simulant.

I've been using it to finish those subclass quests so it's ok by me.

1 ReplyHad some fun as a Hunter void with Felwinter's Artifact (no super but 2 grenades and 2 melee). I had max discipline and strength with the lockdown perk on, which prolonged the duration of grenades and smoke bombs and I had the envenomed perk on the smoke bombs. You could be throwing in grenades and smoke bombs one after the other every other few seconds. Pure carnage for the other side and air support for your team. Although I also played Gunslinger with Achlyophage Symbiote (who named this exotic!) for 4 golden gun shots. For my Titan, I played the Striker with lightning grenades and the armanetarium (2 nades) with max discipline and the aftershock perk on (to increase duration of lightning grenades). Throw them on the heavy weapon crate to annoy the other side. Throw them in areas where opposing players congregate. In fact, just keep throwing them everywhere (except right next to you!) For Warlock I used the Voidwalker and the Obsidian Mind helmet with max intellect. Killing one guardian with a nova bomb already charges your super to around 20%, killing 2 or 3 gets your super charged to around half. You get the drift, nova bombs galore. I see some people complaining about gun skill but Mayhem is not about gun skill, it's about your supers and grenades. Go see the Mr Fruit video on how to play mayhem crucible (for a good laugh if anything else).

4 RepliesGlad others enjoyed it. I personally don't like the game mode and find it a cheap-kill fest for the unskilled, but I see that others do enjoy it, and glad it had it's turn so those people could enjoy.

It's been fun but if I keep getting stupid artifacts instead of guns tonight I am going to be pissed. 3 dragons all week across all characters and 1 is OK the other 2 were shit.

1 ReplyWe've been having so much fun in this IB. My son and I have been handing it out and getting it handed to us like none other. We love how chaotic it is and we celebrate for joy whenever we get more than 4 actual primary kills haha. IB needs to become a weekly event - also would not be bad to just go back and do the daily bounties....running on 4 per character per week is so stingy lol

5 RepliesI had a blast with defender I used my Just Do It emote to bait them to come inside my bubble so I can kill them. I humiliated striker Titans by suppressing them while they FoH or FoP. I recommend using defender for IB mayhem clash because it's really fun. I got hatemail in every game I played. They kept telling me to switch to striker or sunbreaker. 😘😜

I actually enjoy seeing people waste supers. [spoiler]Something gratifying in seeing a novabomb sail past me to no effect. Equally the hammer dodge sub game is also fun, if you can get the titan to give chase.[/spoiler] but equally when I've enjoyed those times I've messed up.[spoiler] Hearing 3 golden gun shots you pop the corner guns blazing hoping they aren't wearing achlyophage symbiote, and for a split second you're pleased they don't have a golden gun still out. its about this point you realise that its not a hunter but a titan mid fist of Havoc, having picked up all the hunter's golden gun orbs.[/spoiler] I think the chaotic nature of the game mode can be incredibly fun because its not possible to be a try hard, just not possible on this game mode to not eat a heavy or super from time to time. I think those that dont like this game mode are just trying too hard, and getting worked up when they die. instead of enjoying it.

Young ahmunkara spines with tripmine grenades. Stood between doors loading them up with grenades while my son threw suppression grenades. Got a triple as they tried to rush us. Ended up with a 7 streak kill just from the other team trying to get in the room. Laughed so hard.

To each their own, I got tired of mayhem really quickly. Though I will say it was good for knocking out some of those crucible subclass quests I still had sitting around. Definitely a time saver there.

I enjoyed it a lot too! I don't know why some people think it doesn't take skill, when it's actually more challenging to get primary kills in the middle of supers. I guess some people just find it difficult to adapt to this game mode when they've all gotten used to the slow paced game play. Some people also hated that there were so many gunslingers. I thought this was hilarious! Trip mines everywhere! I didn't really mind that. I also noticed there were a lot of sunbreakers! Hammers everywhere! I loved it! Someone mentioned in the comments that for a while, you are not reminded of sidearms. I agree. Anyway, I think that this was a pretty relaxed, fun, and hilarious iron banner.
