My 2 silver worth... I have been wanting to play Destiny on the PC since it was released. To me, FPSers are a more natural fit for the keyboard and mouse and so are MMOs. I also get superior performance from my laptop so I prefer all my games here. I also I have a bunch of friends that play on XB1. So now I need to decide, do I play on the PC (which I prefer) and drop my existing Destiny friends (or most of them) or play on XB1 so I can play with my existing Destiny friends? The other problem is that my son plays as well. We have 2 XB1s and almost always play together. Microsoft's play anywhere is the PERFECT solution. I buy all multiplayer play anywhere games...it is a total no brainer for me as it gives me the best of both worlds. Gears 4 is a perfect example. I play it on my laptop and my son plays on the XB1...together. Works flawlessly. For those of you that are saying it's too hard or cant be done or it will never happen, well it already has. DC Universe Online, Eve: Valkyrie, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Phantasy Star Online 2, Rocket League, and about 12 or so recent Microsoft titles that are play anywhere. There are more but these are the big ones. While Sony has continually been locking things down, Microsoft continues to open them up. Their play anywhere games are genius. I find myself buying games that I would never have in the past if they were locked into a single platform. It just brings a whole new level of value as a gamer and the dad of a gaming kid. Please do this.

If bungie had stayed with Microsoft maybe this would have been a thing.... Blame playstation..

I'm on Xbox and have no plans of changing, but I feel for you, so have a bump!

This is my problem. I don't know whether to get D2 for Xbone (what I'm on now) or get it for PC. Like, I'm used to the Xbox community and have a large friends list, but PC likely has better graphics. I also don't know if the PC Destiny community will be larger than the Xbone community.

Given how pretty much no game has this I doubt it's going to happen, and I don't think it's Bungie's call, that would be something between Sony and Activision. Also given you will lose all your stuff in the sequel anyways, it won't be much of a loss to start fresh on PC if that's your preferred platform.

Let's hope Destiny 2 is a "play anywhere" title. That would be awesome.

They better not pull the cross platform shit. This community is whiney and toxic enough without the PC (persistent cheaters) causing more drama. Don't understand the need to cheat at something against fellow players. Just accept you can't win fairly and enjoy it as is. I know I do. Edit. If you mean account sync that's a big fat no. One if the biggest issues with pc games is the ability to hack and mod to get an advantage or break a game. That is much less likely to happen on console only games. So if a hack came out that lets you cheat on PC then you would easily be able sync that hacked account to your ps4 or Xbox and have things like ill gotten or overpowered gear for instance transferred to and played on a console. That would potentially break the game on all three versions of the game vs just one. As far as the ability to play on multiple consoles and pc while only paying for one copy that's not gonna happen either. Licensing is a thing and the hardware manufacturers want their cut. Do you think that Microsoft would be okay with people playing a game on there system or OS that Sony got paid for. Or vice versa Sony paid alot of money for exclusive rights to content? Do you think they would be ok with somebody playing the content they paid Activision for on the direct competaters system? And don't forget about Steam. It sounds good a a consumer but in reality it's just business.

It's funny the amount of people on here who don't know the difference between cross-platform PLAY (which people think OP meant) and cross-platform ACCOUNT SYNC (which is what OP clearly stated)

Won't happen. There will exclusives for PS4 that will not be on PC.

How about if you have Disc you can get digital for free! Or at least the base game for cheap since my disc drive fcking died on me today!!!
