Vault of Glass 4EVA!

8 RepliesI liked the raid. Am I the only one?

Edited by Cosmic Zaa: 3/17/2017 12:51:41 PMWrath of the Machine is by far the most fun raid when going in for the first time. Vault is a good second though. I think most people let nostalgia hold their eyes to the vault

1 ReplyKing's Fall requires the most skill individually and team work personally.
-
1 ReplyNice. Now build a time machine and try it when hard mode launched, with a bunch of idiots who were under leveled and unprepared. Completely new challenge.
-
3 RepliesYou simply had a good raid team. With a good raid team, WoTM goes very quickly and can seem very easy. But if you've got a team that doesn't communicate well....or someone who can't follow instructions.....you can get stuck on the second part of the Voksis fight or the second part of the Aksis fight..... ...for HOURS. The nice thing is that the mechanics have enough give in them to make it a fun challenge....but not an onerous exercise in synchronized shooting like Kingsfall was.

6 RepliesI award you zero points. It's not that bad. Take gorgons and oracles out of vault and it'd be the same shit. Funny people always say this but it's a joke to find a group when my friends aren't on. Not to mention not have at least two people on the team take 5 min+ to keep dying in the way to phase 2 vosik and siege engine. So many people fail at every portion of this raid. Any moron can run a strike.

I still haven't managed to complete the oryx raid let alone wrath of the machine... I've had attempts sure but pretty much every time it's either ended up with people having to leave and then there's not enough of us able to complete it or a couple times it's been where to almost all squeakers and they're too busy trying to glitch out the map rather than get shit done...
i really should get around to finding teams...
This coming from a guy that just now managed to beat it
-
14 RepliesVoG actually has more strike mechanics. The only reason people like it so much is that it was the first raid. A bunch of people are stuck in the past.
-
4 RepliesI've 2 manned all raids except Kings Fall and VoG is the most fun 2 man. Especially if you're the inside guy on atheon.
-
2 RepliesThe Destiny equivalent of a Genwunner.
-
Tried it once on LFG and stopped playing shortly after. Just didn't have the same appeal as the others but then I had been on Destiny solid for 2 years. Maybe time to return for a bit of nostalgia
-
King's fall felt the most truly like a raid.
-
2 RepliesKings Fall is the best raid by far, vog, crota and wrath are just extended strikes.
-
Wotm is the best raid Destiny has ever made imo
-
My second favorite raid (behind vog of course)
-
WotM is a bit lame. I ran it 4 or 5 times and just got bored with it.
-
3 RepliesI still have yet to finish. We always get that one guy, that no matter how many times we do Aksis phase 2, he still doesn't get it. He becomes empowered, and just stands there. Someone else has to tell him that he's empowered
-
To be fair, Vault of Glass was the first raiding experience for a lot of people here, and this was when the idea of raids in an FPS game was widely unexplored. You can't really replicate the excitement and intrigue which comes out of experiencing that. Putting aside the rose-tinted goggles, I think WotM was still a lot of fun, but it's obviously not going to compare to exploring the Vault when Destiny was fresh and everyone was buzzing about the raid.
-
rip i still haven't done the raid
-
VOG YEAHHHHHH BOIIIII
-
3 RepliesHell, I still haven't finished it, lol. Made it to Aksis, people started bitching, so I left and never looked back. Raids bring out the worst in people for some reason, and I am too busy trying to have fun to stress and sweat over a video game.
-
It was good but VOG is the pinnacle of this game.
-
4 RepliesYep WOTM was very underwhelming it felt like a repeat of encounters with every boss, besides the siege engine and even that was a bit light on content. I know they want to make raids not be so long but that's kinda why VOG felt like such an immense experience. You would be in that atmosphere for hours and in year 1 there were still secrets to discover. Now the raids feel way too linear and light on content. I mean you throw balls at Vosik, you throw balls at door switches, you throw balls at Aksis, you dunk balls on aksis's trap door. Sound redundant? Because that's how it felt! Lol! I'm not trying to diss the person or people who were involved in creating that raid. It just felt like maybe these devs were rushed and/or not that interested in the content when making it and ran out of ideas. Which tells me that's exactly what happened!

all iv done was start it to get the grimore and ran some of those spark things for fun ").
