Three years of grinding and collecting because that was the game...defeating bosses and missions to get "SWEET LOOT" or how hard I worked to roll over the Queen's Wrath Rep to finally get the helmet to complete the armor set. What about all those who did the same to get that weapon or armor to get that perfect roll to have it mean nothing now...or really ever. Destiny was promised to be a persistent and congruent universe over 10 years. Well, its not...and the first three years will mean absolutely nothing in the endgame of anything. I'm very attached to the things I have put long hours into getting, like my Hand of Judgement Scout rifle with explosive rounds and triple tap and Bungie is going to destroy it all in my vault when the Cabal attack and destroy the Tower (it's the only way they could justify us losing everything except our hair color...smh. I tell you all now the only reason they have to start over is because they had no clue what they were doing in the first place. Progression was foreign to them and sometimes I fully believe it still is. Think of how many changes and overhauls the progression system went through to get where we are now...Level 20, Level 36....House of Wolves Etheric Light to Level 40 400 Light. I guess the 3 year beta is over and real game with a story is coming...but I wouldn't count on it. We have all felt the incompetence that Bungie has displayed on balance and pretty much every aspect of this game...which is why we have to start over...because they fudged it all up so badly that they have to start over. The things that make this game fun are the mechanics...it's a great shooter...the controls are crisp and fluid...the one thing Bungie has always been good at. Raiding with friends and figuring out mysteries and puzzles is crazy fun and mastering the Raids is awesome. I love Destiny, but I also hate it...I'm the abused batter spouse in a marriage that really just needs to end, because my needs are not being met and I'm tired of getting lied to.

1 ReplyYou really want to keep using the same guns in a completely new game with new and fresh guns? You people are weird as hell. It's a new game for -blam!-s sake. I don't know about you but I'd rather not keep using my hung jury, ex machina, and gjallarhorn till destiny 3. I'm glad bungie made this decision it's a new game it should have new loot!! New everything!!

That tiny moment of happiness when you get the thing you want. Whether it's feeling like a badass Getting the exotic death gun Or punching your greatest enemy in the face.
-
Enjoying the game.

What's the point of playing Diablo 2 before Diablo 3? What's the point of playing COD Ghosts before Advanced Warfare? What's the point of playing Halo 5 before Halo 6?.....bla bla bla Get over it nerd. Muted.

There's only so much you can do with outdated tech. Most sequels don't let you transfer items and gear anyway.
-
1 ReplyI was thinking it would be nice if our characters become something like mentors to our new characters ( I know our character is being transferred over but just entertain the idea for a minute). Our character would then guide our new character through missions. Our character would have their own bounties and reputation and the rewards for ranking up will be our old gear. Just an idea

All that time spent was for enjoyment in THIS game. If all of ur stuff carried over, and this is saying bungie kept releasing destiny games on the 10 year plan, at the end of it would u say it was all for nothing? No. The gear doesn't matter. It's the memories. I don't care about my old vog gear that I deleted but I do remember the experience of completing it. I don't have my first legendaries but I have the memory and the excitement of getting them. The items don't really matter, it's the memories you make with them

Edited by HRH FURY: 3/4/2017 7:03:30 AMThis decision had been made months if not 1-2 years ago. That is why they never addressed the "leaks" that came out. They knew full well a large part of their customer base would stop playing for good or at least until D2 came out, so they continued to perpetrate the lie they had told the community on several occasions that everything would "carry over". All the lying to their customers for pure Greed. This purposeful deception and Ethical violation is the issue more than anything else.

Edited by XxElementZeroxX: 3/4/2017 12:52:13 AM3 years you say? Seriously. Go do something with your life. Crying over a video only makes you one thing. A cry baby. Go adult or something.

4 RepliesMember Taken King? Member having a 170 Quagmire being your new primary? I member. It was great. Fresh new look, fresh guns and armour. So happy this is happening. Do you really want to use your Palindrome for years?

4 RepliesI would think the point is to have fun playing the game...

Someone had a great realization.

If you were grinding so your gear would get carried over, what's the point? Destiny is going to end. Destiny 2 will end too. This argument is so stupid. You're insulting video games as a whole by saying your progress doesn't carry over, which itself is pointless.

"Three years of grinding" Math is hard for you, huh?

1 ReplyI like waffles. I had waffles for breakfast. There are many waffles like them but those waffles were mine. Now, the waffles are gone....forever. Breakfast sucks! Wait, there will be more waffles in the future!!!

It's a game. If you didn't enjoy the collecting and grinding then you obviously wouldn't play it. So how about quit complaining like jeez. In cods when a new one comes out, does progress carry over? In halo when a new one comes out does progress carry over?
