Disclaimer I'm a Muslim I do believe in god but this is something I've noticed
There is a fundamentally flaw in both atheism and theism and that is there is no evidence for or against the existence of god and there can't be there is no way to prof he doesn't exist if he doesn't exist and by the nature of god unless he purposely shows himself and provides proof (which won't happen until either a new prophet or the day judgement). The holy books are not definitive proof as they could be human made. As you can see there is no possible way to proof or disproof the existence of god. Tell me what do you guys think and please keep the comments civil.

1 ReplyMost atheists are a 5 or 6.

7 RepliesThe burden of proof is on those making the claim. Claims require evidence. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. That is all.

21 RepliesSince we never will know- I go by pascuals wager. I believe he's there and live a morally good life without the rules of any religion. If he's not real, I die with the satisfaction knowing I did all I can for the good of humanity. If he is real, yay.

You speak an argument not usually spoken of, I am happy with this post. A god should prove his existence, otherwise we have no proof.

13 RepliesI have a rock. It's a special rock that keeps tigers away. Ever since I've had this rock I've never had a tiger come near me. Therefore this rock is what keeps them away. You can't disprove my rock keeps tigers away. It's unfalsifiable. And absurd. Just like god. That which can be ascertained without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. The burden of proof always remains with the one making the claim (as in there is a god or gods) Since there is not one shred of evidence that there is a god(s) then it can be dismissed. And what makes your god the right one out of the thousands that have been worshipped over time?

Edited by angry0lbgrampa: 3/6/2017 5:59:35 PMThe issue is not even this. the issue is that Religion is Philosophy and philosophy is founded in the mind not the observable and testable world. Yes some religions manifest and make the claims to the physical presentation of the world. But of those presentations how much is founded in pure confirmation bias. This can be said for both the religious and those who are atheist. Theist Perspective. Ex: I have heard God therefore God Exists. Atheist Perspective Ex: I have not heard God therefore God does not Exist. Neither of these proves or disproves the other. We can argue all day about it, but proof is not found through your personal experience. As that is your experience and not another's. That is where Christians especially fail when speaking to others about God. Proof is found through the testing of beliefs, principles, and verifiable applications of absolute truths within your religion. If the absolutes your faith deal within cannot be proven, then your religion or belief system is flawed.

2 RepliesGod's power comes from faith. He can't prove his existence, or there wouldn't be a point in faith and His power would cease.

5 RepliesEdited by LegendLogan10: 3/3/2017 3:33:46 PMThere are so many unknowns about both God, evolution, and the big bang right now that everyone should just ho with what they believe and hope they're right. No one knows anything on the subject for certain

I understand the need of gods or a single god, but I've personally never needed them so I don't believe they're real. They absolutely do exist though, because they were imagined into existence by humanity. Man has struggled to find its place in the world since the birth of consciousness, and God or gods are simply a comfortable answer to unanswerable questions like "where do we come from?" or "what's the point of all this?" I say I've never needed deities or organized religion because I simply don't ponder those big questions. However, I've met several people throughout my life with unwavering faith in God, and although I'll never agree with them on the subject, I truly admire their faith. Not gonna get into what I actually believe because I've finally come to my point: I wish people could just do their own thing and not try to jam their opinions down each other's throat. You shouldn't have to prove a belief. (But go -blam!- yourself if you don't believe facts)

God is dog backwards.

The concept of proof and truth is what gets me. Just because we can't prove something, doesn't mean anything other than we can't prove it. Who the hell are we anyways? We're not that smart.

This is why I'm agnostic. I lean towards the side of atheism (I believe that the existence of a god is highly unlikely), but I also recognize that there could very well be a higher power that we just haven't seen. I try not to concern myself with matters of unattainable knowledge because there is no way proving one side right or wrong. With no proof of an argument, the entire debate is a waste of time.

You are entirely correct. Due to the usual descriptions of God, as most religions describe him, he is nearly impossible to prove, or disprove.
There is a fundamentally flaw in both atheism and theism and that is there is no evidence for or against the existence of god and there can't be there is no way to prof he doesn't exist
That's not an issue with atheism since it's not the proposition that God doesn't exist.

18 RepliesWhat flaws are there with atheism?

Exactly. The only way to disprove or prove god is through logic or faith atm. And, so far, neither side is okay with that.
