I've only played a little, but I like how special ammo spawns. It bothers me a little that there are a ton of snipers, but I'm hoping this goes well

1 Replyside arms are the new primary

2 RepliesI actually don't mind the new special ammo setup. However what is annoying is having to reload with every pickup. Just make it like heavy where it's auto loaded on pickup as it's tedious having to camp to load 4 shells before moving for fear of losing your ammo on death before you've even loaded it.

sidearm ammo is broken, which is annoying
-
Good for you - I think it's garbage, glad someone is pleased

Ur an idiot

I played for a few hours after the patch, I played 6v6 and 3v3. 6v6 was OK but I find losing my special amo just to pick up a new box after death is stupid. 3v3 ( skirmish and elimination) I found horrible nlb, icebreaker and sidearms almost every game. Had a few matchs that people would leave if the enemy ( or my team) would wipe the enemy with heavy because all they have to fight lmgs are primary weapons. I just don't enjoy the special amo change its annoying it slows the game down.
I have 26 days play time in pvp I only play my hunter.
if you want people to use primarys just make them good. I won't be playing till some change happens.

19 RepliesThe special ammo nerf caused players to do 1 of 3 things. 1. Fall back on Ice Breaker/Invective 2. Play super passively with snipers to conserve special. 3. Rely fully on sidearms. I honestly think it could've been handled better.

1 ReplyIv'e played a few matches since the patch as well, and all these posts about ammo are nuts. Its not nearly as bad. Me, I simply run a side arm now and will adapt. But honestly the ammo spawns aren't nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. Now the nerfs to truth and blade dancer.......thats another story lol

6 RepliesThe special ammo system is rediculous because its turned everybody into campers i just played 3 seperate crucible games and everybody was camping because nobody feared my shotgun of camper justice burning through their entire team.
-
I agree, was very sceptical looking at it on paper but I think it was a good change having played it now.
-
I wouldn't mind if you spawned in with at least 1 shot. Losing all of it is pretty brutal. Then again, I'm ok with using primaries most of the game. If they are going to stick with the route of having no special after you die though, I think they ought to make special weapons stronger. I don't think they should warrant free kills, but they should at least be stronger if they're treated like power weapons like they were in Halo.
-
It's easy to get it back and snipers have to fetch some when they died.

5 RepliesI've had little to no issue getting my hands on special with the new patch. One minute spawns that stagger throughout the map over time means there's usually special ammo, somewhere. And guess what? If it's not there, I HAVE A PRIMARY THAT WORKS FINE. People are far, far too reliant on Special weapons in this game to carry them.
-
AT BEST its just ''ok'' in Mayhem ONLY!
-
7 RepliesI don't exactly think the special ammo economy works all to well, I like the idea, it was just executed very poorly. I like the special ammo leaving on death, it forces more primary usage but at the same time I think i makes special ammo almost too scarce. I think it may make gameplay flow a bit better if they increase special ammo respawn time to maybe 80 to 90 seconds or so, but reinstated the ability to pick up special ammo from Guardians you've killed.

It's not that big of a difference really. I hardly seem to go without since it spawns every minute. Get couple kills die and special is back up. Seems to be how it goes for me
-
The only real problem with special now is along the lines of what a lot of people are saying: it encourages a passive playstyle. I'll admit when I was at my best my playstyle revolved around specials and my sub-class abilities. Yeah I could drop someone with my clever dragon or distant star, but I was getting the majority of my kills through specials, grenades, melees and supers. Now I feel like I'm being punished for using a shotty or my saladin's vigil because one missed headshot or mistimed slide and I have to go looking for another special box instead of regrouping w/ teammates (or on my own which I am apt to do) and going back on the offensive. This kind of game should be able to support a wide range of playstyles, not just a select few that bungie deems appropriate. This change is not the answer, I don't know what is, but I know this isn't it.

1 ReplyI honestly am going to love the next week or two before people realize they can still run shotguns
-
2 Repliesdude your using ice breaker... your opinion of how special works is totally irrelevant
-
Played last on my VW. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Best weapon on every game was a primary which isn't out of my Norm... But for those who thrive off of special I can see how this might affect you guys. The patch almost forces you to either run Sidearms or a regen exotic. That's not diverse either. Bungie needs to rework this patch...
-
2 RepliesI'm also loving it.. seems like an unpopular opinion though
-
17 RepliesI'm dislike the new patch I ruins sniping, fusions and shot guns. So be ready for worm wood and other side arm spam. The reason it ruins it you now don't have special ammo at all unless you use a side arm.

10 RepliesDude you are using NLB and Icebreaker Most of your kill are with a MELEE Sit down
