I started at Demon Souls, and fell in love with the series. Let me just start by saying I love all of the games, with each having something it did well and some things not so good. DkS1 for example was my fav, as I love a challenge. The lore and story was rich, the characters were unique and diverse, the bosses were fun yet challenging. The pvp was rather broken, but still a whole lot of fun. [spoiler]Forest defenders ftw[/spoiler] DkS2 was my least favored, but still fun. Loved the dual weapon power stance mechanics. It started so well, then came the great magic nerf... that's when I lost a chunk of my favoritism to it. I also hated the over time flask uses... ugh... Otherwise the NG+ changes and dlc were great. Pvp was, as you say, fair for the most part. [spoiler]Rat keepers were hilariously fun[/spoiler] DkS3 comes in second for favorite. All around fun with a pinch of difficulty at times. Pvp is broken as hell though... the gank squads and cheaters are real in this one... I would suggest getting a console version of DkS1 and trying again. All of the major issues were fixed long ago, and if stuck, get some summon help.
