So while playing destiny it feels like we don't have names. People just refer to us as guardian. But as the story progresses they start saying it differently. Instead of using it like a title they begin to say more and more like a name. And it would make sense that by the end of RoI we've made a name for ourselves. Is this just me? Let me know what you think.

1 ReplyUs: can we name our characters? Maybe you can explain shit about your game? Bungo: okay *10 seconds later* Here's that one purple eyeball guy but red and now we're ripping off resident evil cuz everyone is pyramid head now. 30 bucks. Gimme money. Fuсk you.

If you remember in the mission "A Guardian Rises", your ghost says "...well, you've been dead a long time, so you're going to see some things that you won't understand." That implying that yes, we have a name, but no one knows it because anyone we knew in the past died when the fallen took over earth (pretty sure that's the story). But to be honest, I think your gamertag is supposed to be your guardians name. But I do think that in Destiny 2, they should have an option to choose a name. Not one that you can customize because that may mess up how the vendors/enemies/allies say your name. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

I got bored, which means it's... STORY TIME!!! We had names once, in a time before all that has happened. While in the Crucible, Johnson McHunterson was slain by another player and instead of blaming his own skill, he blamed the other person's name. He made a post about it here on the Destiny forums where all the weak-minded could see it. Within hours, everybody started blaming names because if one person could blame their weakness on a name, then the others' deaths could also be justified. Days later, names were nerfed. Next, we had numbers, though it did not take long for numbers to get the same treatment. While in the Crucible, 402739 was slain by a player with a higher number than his. Instead of blaming his own incompetence, he blamed the other person's number, for it was higher than his own. He made a post about it here on the Destiny forums where all the weak-minded could see it. Within hours, everybody started blaming numbers because if one person could blame their lack of ability on a number, then the others' deaths could also be justified. Days later, numbers were nerfed. Now we are just "Guardian," but even that will soon be nerfed. Somewhere in the Crucible, Guardian was just killed by another player, and instead of blaming himself, he will blame it on the other person's title. He will make a post about it here on the Destiny forums where all the weak-minded can see it. Hours later, everybody will start blaming the title of "Guardian" because if one person can blame their inability to play the game on a title, then the others' deaths can also be justified. Days later, we will have nothing to identify one character from the other. Story Time's over. You can leave now. Let me just un-handcuff you from the chair, and... There you go. Bye!

Edited by Elitespear: 1/23/2017 4:56:03 AMYour name is plot hole. Also, if a ghost is going to the trouble of resurrecting you then you'd have already made a name for yourself.

I decided to name all mine a bit later in. I gave my Titan the name and personality of Commander Vimes in memory of Sir Terry Pratchett, I named my warlock Gloria, after the OWL sector virus, and then my Day 1 character (that I couldn't bring myaelf to reroll for appearance) I realised their sharp facial lines could be Russian, so I decided on Katarzyna, or Kat, just cause I liked the name. Bungie didn't give me a personality, seems I gotta do it myself.

Your name is "The Guardian". You are named by a Title because we are playing as ourselves. Everyone is "The Guardian" so "The Guardian" can be any race and any sex.

3 RepliesA mute protagonist and title (name?) that fits everyone's character.
recipe for a lot of video game plots involving personal characters.
It's always kinda funny watching a really epic cutscene that your character has done. Only to remember it's probably been scene like a million times. Lol
