Destinys End, The Final Stand
Ok Bungie, real talk. I will be quite annoyed if I won't be able to take my Hunter, the guardian I've had and used since destiny's first release in September 2014, into destiny 2. While I understand the whole idea of a reboot and that a new adventure would be nice, I really wanted to take on the entire Destiny adventure with my hunter. I know I could just make hHe same hunter in destiny 2 but it wouldn't be the same. I have however come up with an idea that would satisfy me; a proper ending for my cherished guardian, a heroes ending, A last stand.
A final Mission.
You and your Ghost go into a mission, off to face some hive creature, something of the darkness that desperately requires the guardians immediate attention.
You enter the area that was said to contain this enemy when it all goes wrong. The doors are shut or the roof caves in leaving you and your ghost trapped.
And then It gets worse, being forced to move in deeper you and your ghost find yourselves fighting with the enemies minions (wether they be hive, vex, fallen or cabal though I personally prefer hive.)
You and your ghost figure this is just another day in the office when your ghost is hit. Your friend, your buddy, the little bot that brought you back. Destroyed, shot down and gone. No turning back now, no respawns and no way out you are forced to fight on against wave after wave of the enemies minions, this is a no win situation, you will fight to your last breath, your last bullet but you will fall, your guardian will fall. Roll credits.
So if my Hunter can't come along with me to Destiny 2 he should atleast die like the badass he is.
So guys I hope you like my idea, cmon bungie take this on board. Guys give this a thumbs up or a like or whatever it is on here but let's have bungie give us the ending our guardians deserve, the final stand!
Edit: fixed up the assumption that it's confirmed we won't be able to take our characters, sorry guys ^^'

1 ReplyA bee will fly into your ships cockpit and your guardian, like any sane and rational person, is willing to crash their ship into a field to kill it. There will be a memorial of your guardian swatting at a bee in the tower with the caption "worth it"

I don't want to hear some bullsh*t about our current Guardian not being up to the task against some minor enemies. We slew five gods, that means something. 3. If it's a continuation then I'm happy.

They find a way to shield us from the Traveler's light, and we are captured. Then we have to escape, but have none of our gear and lose our abilities. This could lead to the Guardians trying to reclaim the traveller and discovering all new abilities (like classes or subclasses) That way we can keep our characters, but can have a fresh start as well. Cosmetics could stay, of course. If our Guardian is to die, I would prefer it as a 'I'm going to sacrifice my self to save everyone' rather than our ghost dying by chance. But that's just my opinion.

If my grimoire, shaders and most importantly my emblems do not come with me to destiny 2. There is no way in hell I will be collecting anything in D2. My playtime is almost non-existent now, add that to the mix and I'll only platinum or 100% and be done with it. Because honestly, there are much more enjoyable games out there.

5 RepliesCould work. You could then take it farther in destiny 2. Lets say the new guardian you have hears stories of a guardian god that fell(pretty much what we are for all the things we have killed). As an end game mini mission you find a final transmission from our ghost that was recorded by Rasputin. It gives you a location and you start searching for the fallen guardian aka your destiny 1 guardian. You fight and kill the boss that took the guardian down and find hordes of slain hive along the way (or any other enemy type). As a end reward you can get one piece of armor (class item) and one weapon that your guardian had on him when he fell, it can be sitting next to our corpse and fallen ghost. You can then get the dead ghost as well which gives a short summary of our triumphs over the darkness. Idk just would be a good tribute along with op's idea.

Killing oryx in the raid was a very satisfying win, and a proper end game

1 ReplyHere's my thing about takin characters forward: why? Is it the customized aesthetic? The effort it took to reach a light level? The weapons and armor that get used? Or the weapons and armor that collect dust? I get it, don't get me wrong. It would be cool for my 3 characters to come forward. But whatever I've been using for the past 3 years is probably going to pale in comparison to the net new stuff. Im not buying a new game to play with old toys. Not really, anyway. I agree they should be brought forward, but I really don't want them to break the bank doing it, you know?

Personally I think they're foreshadowing it. Vault of Glass tech coming back means vex are getting strength back, omnigul can resurrect herself and Crota. Large hive are fighting for Oryx's crown, fallen are now powerful due to Siva, and Cabal have reinforcements on the way. Lysander, a traitor guardian to the vanguard, is trying to earn trusts of other guardians to follow him to take out the vanguard (shown by his sparrow that he gifted us trying to bribe us). All this combined, and an assault on the city could lead to a final battle. A battle where our guardians fight for the city. But die with the forces overwhelming us. We lose the last safe city and the light. Making a new place for Destiny 2

I think that if they really are starting fresh, this would be a great way to do it. Not just drop everything. Although when they say fresh start, maybe that just means a game reboot, not necessarily a completely clean slate, maybe you'll get your old guardian. We won't know for a while though.
