Why do people complain about bumping in SRL?!
Its a competitive race! Any idiot can drive a sparrow through a gate unhindered. It would be boring and there would almost be no way to improve your position in the race since all sparrows have the same stats.
Ever played Mario Kart? Twisted Metal? Split Second? Star Wars Podracer?
If you want to race without getting bumped, go play with your sparrow in patrol

The issue is when people go out of their way to shove others off the road - with no regards to their own position. It's even more annoying when it's done by a fireteam, so that their buddy can have a chance to win the race. It's not destruction derby.

People shouldn't complain. It's not a racing simulator. It basically mario kart on sparrows. It people don't like being hit they should buy a racing simulator. It's impossible not to hit people as every one is aiming for the blue gates to boost.

Seriously check my recent games, dudes in his party that waited for me didn't even finish, like has destiny gotten to that point of being a hardcore nerdgasm game? Like seriously can't even solo queue a sparrow race without being -blam!-ed by so some loser and his boy toys trying get first to finish their books... I think I just finished getting B done, what losers man. Well back to overwatch have fun with the tryhards sheeple

They also believe that it isn't their fault they lost, or that someone may actually be better. These fuc.... I mean people can barely handle adulting. In fact... They are sooooo poor at adulting that colleges are beginning to offer adulting classes. TLDR They are thin skinned, cry baby, entitled morons that need to uninstall.

The only issue I have is that it always seems to be random whether or not it works. I'll side burst right through a person and on the next turn they somehow get underneath me and I'm up in the air

Not about the bumping, its about the fact that the game wasnt built to include racing, meaning the physics glitch out constantly because of even the slightest tap or redirection. The smallest pebble can send you flying off into the sun if you hit it right. This should not be possible

21 RepliesBecause it's not consistent physics wise. also the racing titles you've named are hardly competitive racing titles. actual tournament based racing in real racing games have non contact on by default. There is more to racing than simply going through the gates. The fact that you think bumping into others adds so much depth is pretty laughable. I hate contact racing. but at least in other race like titles their physics and mechanics are consistent. compared to SRL where everyone is always a second in front of or behind someone information wise which means people can look like they are bumping you on your screen even though on theirs they aren't close to you. or the fact that you can miss gates you've completely gone through or that connection actually can impact placement and the map itself. so yeah. if SRL was more consistent and not so broken due to their terrible connection algorithm you might have a point.

It wouldn't be an issue with me if it worked both ways...I never catch a first gate Cuz I am usually completely spun out by the pack. In a one on one I am also spun out. I have tried to bump and push and even when trying I get spun out. It seems I cannot gain any advantage by it. If it works for some it should work for all.

Because it's not something you can help or combat against. Races are generally about speed, which we're all matched on, and cornering which is very much in your control.

3 RepliesRacing as a side activity on a fps cant work, its stupid. That said, its fun for an hour or so then im done. Its glitchy and really not competitive at all.

Countless -blam!-ing times i have been robbed of FIRST place by getting thrown 3 mikes to the side to die to a wall to respawn in LAST place. Anyone who does that can die in a -blam!-ing hole.
