In Year 1, Skolas was by far one of the most challenging feats us guardians have ever faced. People
were booted from parties for not owning a Gjallarhorn, solar burn was hugely taken advantage of, and
of course the end game loot was sought for in the queens treasure room. (Which was oddly placed
under a prison?)
Anyway. Imagine if some loyal fallen dreg, or Randal the Vandal finessed their way back into the
Vex's time chamber to bring back Skolas to once again become the kell of kells. Except this time
when they break him out and bring him to the cosmodrome to recruit for his fallen house, the splicer
priests infect him with SIVA but are unaware of the beast they have created. Now furious with his
new power he seeks vengeance in the reef and wants to claim the banes of the guardians that executed
him in another time line.
Variks calls on us again as the prison struggles to contain control as Skolas has come back to
recruit every dreg, servitor, shank, vandal, and captain to his new cause: The destruction of the
prison and the death of the traveler's guardians.
The first two levels would be Hive, Then Cabal. Normal objective, dismantle mines. Kill target.
Etc...
But then you'd have Vex as the third round. Where at first they acknowledge you but not with
hostility. They enter their passive stasis and allow you to complete the objective (dismantle mines)
with ease and you leave. But the fourth round would be a fallen one. After the first two waves
everything seems normal. But then you see a SIVA cluster appear in the middle of the map that starts
radiating energy that drains your light. Then you hear Variks over the comms yelling at you to come
back into the chamber as the "Siva Density Critical" message appears on your screen. As the door
shuts behind you hear an explosion and when it opens, you can see several fallen drop ships come in.
With Saladin talking over your comms saying he's responding to a distress signal Variks sent out and is on his way with reinforcements.
In order to break Skolas' bond you need to kill two Prime Servitors within 30 seconds of eachother.
Then you can freely shoot at skolas without worrying of him being shielded by them anymore.
At 60% of Skolas' health Skolas has a shield of SIVA at this point and you become infected with SIVA
as well and must transfer the infection to eachother but you are permanently immune to it after
giving it away to another guardian. (Failing to transfer in time causes the infected guardian to die
and another will become infected.) The third guardian that gets the SIVA infection has a SIVA
cluster that forms in their hands that they must throw at Skolas as this is the only way to take his
new shields down. After completing the Siva Cluster Bomb Throw twice his shields are now permenently
damaged and will not regenerate.
After you bring Skolas to 30% health you hear Saladin saying over your comms "Young Wolves I am
inbound but Fallen skiffs are in pursuit, this is the best I can do in such a short time. Give them
hell." and you see several heavy ammo crates fall from the sky and numerous battle axes appear as
well to clear out the overwhelming ads that keep spawning in.
Rewards could be exotics goodies, high LL loot, emblems, yadda yadda.
So tell me guardians, what will you do? Kill or be killed?

My god best thing i've read on this -blam!-ing forum in agess

1 ReplyHonestly I hope bungie steers clear of PoE and Variks for a while.
-
3 RepliesYawns, "The Taken have Already Invaded the Prison... Now you want me To Take Siva? And Infect Skolas's Dead Corpse with it..." She Gave a Long Stare,

Year 1 skolas was probably along side VoG the only challenging Pve content, lightswitch was a bitch. The Ttk update with the CoE should have been just as challenging but it was the total opposite. It was laughable you could solo it while still below the light level.
-
Yeah I like it
-
Sounds like it could be a laugh. Been liking the siva strikes just released and this idea has the same feel to it, don't know if bungie would put the development time in, but I'd play it if they did!

5 RepliesHere's your answer: Gjallarhorn.

12 RepliesEdited by hardazzdiamond: 12/13/2016 9:27:53 PMNo just no, why the hell do you want more reskinned bullshit
-
THE EXOTIC BETTER BE A HEAVY SCORCH CANNON!
-
This is good but I rather have new content than reskinned ones
Stop giving Bungie ideas for reskinned cash grabs
2 RepliesATHEON! THE PERFECTED! thirsts for your light
-
Why would Skolas want to go back to the prison for some vandals and dregs, and if Variks wants us to kill skolas why would he make us go through the other prisons?
-
Strangely enough, the cabal round with arc burn gave me the most trouble
-
very good i like the melding of old and new mechanics

11 RepliesSkolas was pure hell the 1st time around because: 1. No checkpoints. You needed to grind to him and down him all once or not at all. 2. 3 man team puts extra pressure on you to perform well. 3. Objectives are hard unless you keep an eye on the timing and trigger them only when ready. 4. That !*! (#ing Captain with the infinite health bar and broken sprint speed. (Remember: no swords back then) 5. Space Aids Mechanic pushed players into a very passive and defensive battle 6. The rewards were horrible. Your revamp sounds good but I am still mentally scared from Skolas the first time around. The rewards would need to be with it for me to risk PTSD and go back.

2 RepliesLove the idea keep up thinking of this kind of stuff
-
Needs exotic scorch cannon
-
2 RepliesI like this. But, please, if it is Splicers, NO SOLAR/ARC BURN!!!!
-
2 RepliesAlong side the raids coming up would be nice. Maybe reworked loot tables or a couple new raid style guns with their enhanced perks.
-
1 ReplySkolas and Poe was/is garbage. I just wanted another raid not that terrible horde mode.

Edited by The First Spoon: 12/13/2016 3:33:37 PMif its a full on riot like that. then the whole thing needs to be epic. either more guardians involved or you can bring the vex and cabal from their rooms to help. we still need to be able to fight alongside an ai force to overcome an evil too strong for us alone.
-
skolas was THE most difficult boss to defeat after they made changes to the burns.. maybe it wasn't difficult per se, but, the guardians certainly made it that way by being impatient and trying to do to much damage to the boss and not dealing with the ads effectively. it would be awesome to have him back.
-
Why not? Or have it where they used siva to revive him? New strike? Siva revived skolas?
-
I would go as far as saying that Skolas is the hardest fight Destiny has produced to date. I've helped people that were stuck on it for ages. Some of them were almost sickeningly grateful and emotional when it got done. Don't miss PoE at all, but actually the Skolas endgame...I would do again, as it was kind of a rush
