While there will always gonna be a meta, you can still remain competitive and have a chance with the right gun and rolls, ie a god rolled waltz can beat a normal or even a god rolled clever dragon but thats a 1.1 comparison with the same weapon archetype. A good rolled eyasluna or finnala's can also beat a normal clever dragon but a god rolled one will crap on those leaving the crucible with only the god rolled weapon archetype of the patch. Something similar happened during HoW, everyone and their grandma had a rocket with proximity and tripod to the point that hmg were useless in crucible. To be honest rerolling weapons is bad imo, if you want a good baseline weapon for any activity thats what exotics are for, and once you get your desired god rolled one you can change it.
