A huge character in lore, and i doubt most people who read the grimoir dont even know who he is

1 ReplyBack in the day, I was what you might call the Librarian of Grimoire. I knew just about everything there is to know thanks to studying the cards every day. However, last month, I left Destiny, and just returned today, so my logic may be a bit rusty, but here it goes. [spoiler]Chelchis was the Kell of either the Fallen House of Stone or House of Rain. He was around back when the Fallen weren't even called the Fallen; they were still the royal Eliksni of old. He lived at the end of the Eliksni Golden Age, and was around to witness Oryx's invasion of the Eliksni home planet. During the invasion, the Eliksni became scattered. Most were killed or Taken. The battle soon reached a point however when even retreat seemed impossible; this was the because the Traveler abandoned them, leading to Chelchis begging the question: [quote]"The Great Machine? Where is the Great Machine?"[/quote] Chelchis was loyal to his people, and wanted to ensure their survival, so he created his own defensive line with whatever remaining Eliksni soldiers were left. They fought off the Hive and Taken while the Eliksni civilians escaped. In the end, Chelchis fell along with his house, but the Eliksni survived because of his heroics. It is assumed he became a Taken servant of the Hive King, Oryx. Now, all that remains of him are the King's Fall Sniper Rifle (or Scout, don't remember,) and an artifact. [/spoiler]

After a while Oryx came to the solar system and fought. His people were evacuating, but he fought, "If the light is on our side, who will beat us?". Then he saw the traveler leaving, and said, "Oh where is the great machine? Where is the great machine?". Then Oryx killed him with his sword, the Willbreaker. Fallen left, blah blah blah, civil war, searched for the traveler, had ether problems, etc. Now they are here!

[spoiler]Chelchis, the Kell of Stone, died fighting Oryx during the Whirlwind, the time the Traveler fled the Eliksni homeworld, because the Hive were quite close. I say Chelchis fought Oryx, because he makes it a point to "immortalize" vanquished foes in the King's Fall weapons. The Fallen still sing songs of him and his bravery to this date. His last words(or at least his most memorable) were-"Where is the Great Machine? Where is the Great Machine?" Doom of Chelchis, Broken Crown.[/spoiler] [spoiler]*drops mic*[/spoiler]

Might be because he isn't that big of a character. He is never mention in the grimoire and only mentioned in two gear flavor texts. Just because people keep making these wild stories for themselves doesn't mean they're true. All we know for sure is that he is a fallen legend for "standing before the maw" and he encountered Oryx sometime between the Whirlwind and Oryx's arrival in the Sol System. We also know he was kills, not Taken, and held the title "Kell of Stone." This taken together the only thing we can reasonably theorize he may have led a rear-guard during the Whirlwind. Anything else is baseless speculation.

After oryx killed him, he was made into a weapon from his bones called the doom of chelchis. Edit: If he can take oryx,me must be Randal's father or brother.

Chelchis is the most badass Fallen ever. He fought Oryx without light. Even though he died, he is remembered. We have avenged all of those Oryx have killed. May Chelchis's soul rest in piece.

Yeah he's my favorite Fallen. Such a freaking awesome alien. Sacrificing himself so the rest of the Fallen can escape. Standing up to Oryx and I'm pretty sure they used the words "facing the maw." Not sure tho
