Member-berries overdose. Year 1 was not that great.
-
Me too
-
Most of year 1 wasn't that great. But House of Wolves was definitely the best "era" of destiny so far.
-
7 RepliesI've given it some thought for a while now. And I don't think anyone really misses year 1 (as in what the game was). The game was absolutely broken. I think we all just miss being new to the game. Not knowing what was going on. Experiencing it for the first time.
-
9 RepliesI can't believe you're saying it either. Year 1 sucked balls. Endless grinding for mats, ascendant shards, forever 29, exotic weapons and armor resets, crucible and vanguard commendations...the list goes on and on. Year 1 sucked so badly that I quit the game shortly after The Dark Below dropped and didn't pick it up again until ROI was about to drop. This game has come a long way since then. 99% of it for the better.

House Wolves was the peak of this game. Everything you could find was relevant, you had 2.5 raids to farm for great gear (Skolas only counts as half a raid) and those elemental primaries were so much fun. I miss it too.
-
I'm not sure if i miss year 1 or just the general feeling of experiencing something completely new.
-
Same here....

2 RepliesYear 1 sucked and 90% of these snowflakes wouldn't survive the grind

7 RepliesEdited by Eat My Acid: 11/14/2016 3:42:51 PMI miss hearing about my friends soloing crotas when it mattered, I miss spending hours in the vault of glass exploring, I miss having to grind for hours for planetary mats with my friends, I miss having those blue fruit flies swirling around my heat after shitting on a nightfall boss, I miss roasting Smoggy Pluto for getting a gjallahorn at the bottom of the leaderboard, I miss grinding that one place where the Nexus strike spawns you for legendaries, I miss abusing the shit out of the wolves patrol to get my cryptorchid hella high and get bank I miss farming the exclusion zone, I miss joining a crucible math and having a chance to get pubstomped cuz there was only cbmm and laughing to the point of crying by how bad I was play, I miss grinding out crucible and strikes for vanguard and crucible marks, I miss having like 6 different strike playlists to choose from with good names and a change of getting a hopscotch pilgrim, I miss my black hammer, I miss the old vendor weapons, I miss seeing everyone using the time breaker, I miss elemental primaries, I miss the old destiny music, I miss my clan that I had in year one that left when year two came out because thy thought it was trash, I miss exotics being special because they weren't more common than legendaries like they are now, I miss loading to the vault of glass just to run around and kill shit at Venus, I miss crotas woman being next to that hallway that leads to tower north with her ship, I miss her lame ass bounties, I miss that old queens wrath event, I miss being called a fag for having so many exotics, I miss my mommy, I miss year one

58 RepliesEdited by Kreis: 11/13/2016 5:43:17 PMI don't understand how people can say this lol I've been playing since the Beta and i can't say I miss year 1 at all. Do you mean that you miss when the crucible was limited to 2/3 weapons depending on your console? Or do you miss how we had no vault space? Or maybe when legendaries decoded into blues? Or when nightfalls kicked you back to orbit? Or when you could push every raid boss off the edge of the map? Or pull the plug on Crota? Or do you miss when you could use a shotgun as a primary the entire match due to how frequently ammo dropped? Or maybe you miss the weekly threads of "SIGN HERE IF YOU EARNED *exotic weapon*"? Do you miss everyone complaining about getting weasled every 2 seconds now? I don't get it. The stuff I've mentioned is only an incredibly small fraction of the issues Y1 had too. What do you 'miss' about Year 1?
-
Year 1 was by far the best
-
You're not saying it, you're *writing* it
-
Idk about you but i didnt like getting blues from a purple engram
-
You miss year one because it was new. Fresh everything. Purples were exciting to get exotics were omg status.

Edited by UnKnown-MD: 11/14/2016 4:17:43 PMEdit: my own opinion, if you agree tell me about it, if you don't agree which is fine but keep it to yourself kindly I miss year 1 too .. Light level before was better during HoW Nightfall was much better and more fun and easier to complete using different ways due to previous level system Being kicked to orbit is very annoying but wasn't that bad It would be the worst case scenario due to hiw new strikes designed and how light level system work and new annoying modifiers . I Like how this new system is rewarding.. but you can't deny that in year 1 and specialty before HoW , drops were much more exciting and valuable.. During HoW it was less of a grind for the weapon but more of a grind to the materials which i still like .. despite people complains of "everyone have the same roll" which is no much different than now ... Raid drops were the shit for their PERKS and just overall stats (I LOVE elemental damage and it Mostly useful in nightfall and strikes and yes i want them back as elemental cores) ,, WOTM weapons have interesting changes for few weapons.. I dislike error codes in Y1 I dislike the rarity of the drops but it had more meaning I dislike vault space and still do and i won't be satisfied until i have too much space (like 20 pages or so) I dislike that 3 heavy synthesis cost 1 sc and before it was 5 I dislike a lot of things now and before but to each has its own memory... But in the end it's not up to me to decide what i want back and what not ..
it's up to crying annoying nerf asking shit eating worthless insignificant beings which bungie listens to !!
Elemental primaries

The only reason I miss year 1 is because everything was so new. There was more of a sense of exploration in the beginning... and now that's gone because of the grind. After the 100th time going to venus to farm vex major kills or spirit bloom the charm wore off. Even when we were given new patrol locations it felt like going through the motions all over again. A few new story missions and parts of the new raids offered some very cool screen shot opportunities, but there was really never a desire to go back and explore.

1 ReplyI miss when primary weapons was op. Suros. Vex. Thorn. Last word. Shot package and snipers. Make them all op.
-
I kind of miss reforging. I mean, it just seems asinine for someone to keep punching the slot machine strike boss for a "god roll" or whatever you want to call it, weapon, when bungie may make it less effective in a few weeks. But this just may be me being sad about so many wonderful weapons I have in my vault being garbage now because of all the weapon changes (or lack thereof for some older ones)

1 ReplyWe all do
-
I just miss how we could do 3 endgame activities in the same week
-
Yup I sure miss advancing faction rank at the speed of molasses running freely in middle of Wisconsin winter.
-
3 RepliesIts the rose tinted spectacle effect bro. What we actually miss is those first time "awe moments". Plundering the vault for the first time with our friends. Getting that first exotic. Beating the first nightfall. Pulling an allnighter with clan mates hunting for secrets. All those first time feelings are what we miss. In actual reality the game was far more of a grind, and much less to do. The game is in a much better place now. But like with anything we enjoy, you can never replace that first time buzz you get from a new experience. Even if the experience then gets better over time, it will never be as good as that first time.

I miss the times when the only complaint besides the "bungie gave us half a game" gripe was " the damn cryptarch turned a purple to a blue"
