Stop devaluing exotics
I remember back in year 1 and year 2 that I would freak out whenever I got an exotic, all my friends also freaked out if they got something good, heck, I even freaked out when I saw those golden exotic bounties.
But that's not there anymore.
You beat an easy campaign, have an exotic sword, no, yknow what you can also have the gjallarhorn, arguably one of the most op weapons on game, for just killing a few enemies and picking up bits of metal that look like wolfs.
It's just not exciting anymore.
The point I'm trying to make is that bungee is devaluing exotics, exotics are meant to be THE best weapons that are so rare that you go balistic whenever you got one, but nowadays it doesn't happen because bungee just hands out exotics, ffs you even get exotics semi regularly from bounties now, so what's the point.
I remember freaking out for 15 minutes when I got my hawkmoon, I remember going balistic over my friend getting a gjallarhorn and being so happy for him.
I remember going insane over any and every exotic I got.
And I miss that.
I want the excitement back.
Tldr stop handing out exotics as if they were tiny boxes of Rasins

3 RepliesThe thrill would still be in tact to some degree but these exotics .....they've almost ALL been nerfed to hell and back. That's why. When we got icebreaker it was a GAME CHANGER. Ghorn? Vex? Fuk yes, they were amazing in pve. Now look what's going on. So you're certainly right on one point but I'd say it's a culmination of getting them too easily and, more importantly, how watered down they are now.

Exotics arent supposed to be the best weapons. They are in no way intended to outperform their legendary counterparts. I think you're just missing the days when exotics werent balanced like they are now. You freaked out when you got Gally because you were suddenly OP as hell. Now exotics are just cool looking weappns with unique perks. Sometimes providing an edge in a very specific situation but generally performing on par with the well rolled legendaries of the same archetype.

16 RepliesSo you are saying you would rather have rng decide what you do? Take crota for example. No gally? No group. Exotics are not meant to be overpowered. I hate it when people say that i am wasting an exoric slot by using all legendaries or exotic heavy in pvp. Exotics should not decide how you play the game. You yourself should see what type of weapons you like, what gear you want to use, perks, everything you have an option to do

A bigger issue is that they're nothing special anymore. There pretty pathetic compared to what they used to be. Why should it feel special when they aren't special?

The only exotic I ever freaked out about was gally... by Christmas year one, it was meh...whatever, it's a shard. I had most everyone except heart of praxic fire and gally, which I got in January. People have these rose colored goggles when looking back. The grind isn't for max light anymore. That's a good thing. It's about grinding for stats/perks. Creating a build. Everyone has always complained about nightfall rewards. The only thing that made nightfall rewards worth it was the weekly buff. But they took that away, which was dumb.

11 RepliesSo you're saying rather than a quest with actual narrative and a satisfying conclusion like Gjallarhorn... You'd rather farm 20 hadium flakes for a sword, and then go through a painfully long exotic quest and farm planetary materials like it's October '14, and get an exotic sword? Get out. Not to mention aside from the Khvostov and Gally, the other quests are identical in process to TTK. And the way you acquire any other exotic! I loved year 1 just as much as anyone, but damn people are reaching.

1 ReplyThe real exotics are good rolls on legendary weapons like the imago loop. When I finally get a damn key the chest almost always gives me a titan butt towel. When I finally get an imago loop it has shit roles. But I've had multiple zen meteors and jade rabbits. Like come on.

1 ReplyI remember getting Gjallarhorn in Y2 finally near the end of House of Wolves, while it felt great, it was also bittersweet since only then I would be allowed to play Crota's End, only two months before it would become useless. Never did get that Crux. My point is that sure exotics were rare, but they were also necessary for some content. Which means your ability to do a raid or nightfall was solely in the hands of fickle RNGesus.

I think you are right and I wish it was more consistent at getting exotics. Make something really worth the effort. Much like Nightfall use to be. I still do Nightfall for funsies but it gets old getting 18 strange coins after 18 strange coins.

I don't see anything wrong with the quests for exotics as long as they aren't easy like Outbreak Prime is a good example of a good exotic quest One thing they do have to stop and change is the nerfing of exotics,or nerfs in general, that are solely based on the pvp player base don't they understand that nine times out of ten they are screwing over pve players such as myself as for exotic nerfing I feel like it's crap they gun is EXOTIC it's supposed to have really powerful abilities that change the game take for example universal remote they nerfed its range to the ground the whole point of it was to be a long range accurate gun now it's just a primary shotgun Rant over

2 RepliesI remember 3 months of playing before getting my first exotic drop ever: hard light. (Wasn't good back then). Then two more to get my second one: no land beyond. I prefer to get them more often like now.
