-I remade the post with sarcastic title to get trending because my post was being buried like usual by Bungie.
-Skip to the end(Bold text) if TLDR.
Bungie needs to fix Festival of the Lost. And feels really like Bungie wants Destiny 1 to die a slow death.
This micro-transaction bullshit is outrageous. The worst thing I seen you guys do. And you have done some Basic shit in the past.
There should be other ways to get the Treasure stuff, not just buying the Treasure boxes. Even in Warframe, you can get mostly everything you want using in-game, not purchasing. Bungie completely ignores other micro-transaction systems, and decided to bar people completely from getting stuff, other than 3 free chances per account.
The Treasure bags should drop Legendary masks from last year at least. They went too far, because now people that spend $$$ are getting Ghosts with high stat rolls from treasure boxes.
And what some are spending money on are these Ghosts, and they are damn rare and look freaking cute. You literally just went and made it so people with $$$ can buy a bunch of stuff to improve their stat rolls. This is not even the main issue with Festival of the Cost. The problem is lack of new content.
The entire event is locked behind the paywall or the cool stuff in it. At least with Crimson doubles, we got the ghost for free.
Even my name is BYF is saying it, and he is usually #1 Bungie defender.
Literally no content in this update other than something that feels like work.
The broom is cool, but you guys need to add more content. Not just reskin shit.
Same thing happened last year before Call of Duty came out. You are basically forcing people to stop playing when Activision releases their next game. Are you going to introduce SBBM back so that Crucible sucks too, or some other thing that lowers drop rates on loot to put the Nail in the Coffin that is Destiny?

Bottom line Bungie. If you are listening. I know you bury my posts since I spam a lot, and troll. But anyways I still have legitimate opinions. The bottom line is: you should add other ways to get Treasures you want, through grinding or doing Crucible.
Why not let masks drop as rewards from Crucible? Yea make it rare, but at least its a fair trade. At this point you cannot fix it, but at least drop Legendary masks for us.
This micro-transaction bullshit is outrageous. The worst thing I seen you guys do. And you have done some Basic shit in the past. And the main thing is add more content to the game. All this time you spend designing masks, you can be making new enemies, new weapons, new missions. Masks are great, but if its the only content, it's not good content.
Look at the article from Ign: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/31/destiny-devs-talk-space-travel-pc-and-microtransactions - back from 2013. URK said they wouldn't nickel and dime us. But that's exactly how I feel with this Festival of the Lost Event. Almost the entire event is locked behind RNG Paywall. Why are you doing this Bungie?

1 ReplyIts underage gambling. Simple as that. The chances of getting what you want are WAY TOO LOW. The only players spending tons on microtransactions like this are the ones who only play destiny. Like I am going to spend $100 just to get the items I want from an RNG pit of hell that doesn't even assist you with bad luck. I play Smite and they have this system in chests. However, guess what? I don't have to worry about duplicates and my chances increase slightly each time I purchase an item out of the chest.

Edited by ElderWolfWalker: 10/30/2016 1:47:48 PMSo money from silver is basically funding live events that hide everything behind a pay wall. People that buy the things that are hidden behind the paywall are funding live events that hide everything behind a pay wall. This infinite loop of greed is pathetic.

2 RepliesEdited by Phil de Blanc: 10/29/2016 6:34:41 PMMy question is where is the content that has supposedly been funded by previous in-game purchases via Eververse? This has been a game mechanism for a while now and I haven't seen a great deal of amazing new stories, add-on, weapons, etc, that can be pointed to. I've been away for almost a year until Rise of Iron caught my interest and I am glad for the newness, but don't see a whole lot of additional value - and I'd like to. Are we supposed to believe Rise of Iron has been discounted by people buying racing Sparrows, dance-moves, and such? Is this going to supply content during the long drought of tomorrow as we wait for Destiny 2? I wish I could feel confident about Bungie seeing this through as stated when Eververse was brought in.

2 RepliesMicro transactions should be a short cut to items. Totally don't mind 1 or 2 exculsive items. It shouldn't the only way to get 90% of everything.
-
4 RepliesI laid down some cash for this event and got what I wanted but I understand. We should be able to earn the treasure chests so everyone can have a crack at the cool stuff. It's not rocket science and not sure why Bungie F'd over the portion of the community that can't drop 40 bucks to get a wolf mask and a ghost. I mean did they seriously sit around a table, discuss this and all shake their heads in agreement that it was a good idea? Because I'm fairly certain if they asked any one of us we would have said...yeah....you might want to give everyone the opportunity to earn the treasure in game rather than pay money. Seems like a no brainer and I'm sure they wouldn't lose any money over it. The people that will pay money still will because it's a shortcut. Am I off base here?

5 RepliesI've seen a lot of posts playing to both sides. I find that people who claim that micro transactions are to pay bills are either jumping on a bandwagon or don't understand business as much as they claim. A single instance of a game that sold as heavily as destiny did and continues to, pays not only for the cost of production but in the case of many mainstream games 1-3 years of upkeep. The other side of the argument is simply frustrating. If you have a problem with it, say something. It's important to voice these things in games of this type. At the same time, they don't really provide any actual advantage in game play. You can get those good rolls in game on other items. The micro transactions are cosmetic. Get over it.

5 RepliesSo annoying. "Pay to win, pay for ghosts with high stat rolls" LMAO go into the forge and play for an hour and im sure you'll get 10 ghosts and have the option of picking the stat roll int/dis/str you want thats still higher than my ghost ghost. After all, bungie just -blam!-ing added ghosts and artifact drops up to 400 in forge... Be glad that if you're too cheap to spend $2 on a treasure package you get to enjoy new artwork in social spaces, nighttime crucible matches, receive the ~7ish free masks, the new trials mechanics, the 4 new shaders, AND the 3 free packages. What is wrong with you people. All of this stuff requires MONEY AND RESOURCES to do. Programming is not cheap. You really think the cost for the DLC's alone is enough to cover every single bungie employees salary after 4-5 years of working on this game? My advice to everyone who complains is to learn how a business operates. Be thankful you didn't need to pay $5 to unlock all the FREE stuff I mentioned above. Now I'm going to go look at all the cool stuff I got with my $30 worth of silver. l8r n3rds

1 ReplyThe raid ghost shells are the best imo.

1 ReplyThe only thing that's wrong is that it should be impossible to get duplicates with any sort of treasures. If you have one on your account, it should not be given again. What I would like, but I'm not too upset about, is the inability to grind for any of these items. I would love it to be super rare but still obtainable in game. Purchasing should be a 'short cut' towards obtainable gear, not a path to a lot of exclusive gear.
-
it would help to take you serious if you could, you know, get the -blam!-ing facts straight .
-
We got very little out of FoTL. Even last year we got something from it, a free crucible map, yes it wasn't excatly an amazing map but it was a map regardless. So where is this years treat? No just a broom that goes away after the event?
-
1 ReplyNot to mention YOU CAN GET THE SAME DAMN MASK TWICE FROM THOSE STUPID BOXES LIKE WTF Happens to me got two legendary engram masks from both freebies
-
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

It's pathetic.

i spend £12 on rep boosters once a month for heroic strikes depending on the modifiers i work my ass off for my money so don't tell me what i can and cant do your not my mum =]

4 RepliesWe, as a community, are just as much to blame for allowing them to do this. If we all said no it would change almost overnight.
-
8 RepliesThe thing that really ticked me off was the fact that now we can get duplicates. What was the reward for getting the duplicate? 3 silver dust? For SRL and FotL 2015, you ALWAYS got something. But now with the chance of getting a duplicate, the odds are stacked against us even more. Bungie won't cross the line they set. I don't think they'll ever sell actual weapons and armour from Eververse. But they seem VERY determined to get as close as possible to it. Which is rather dissapointing and sucky. That being said, at least it's all still cosmetic.

1 ReplyBungie answers to Activision. Activision is motivated by greed. Posts like this will achieve nothing. The only way to truly affect change is with your wallet. I've already decided against buying Destiny 2. My decision was not based solely on the proliferation of Eververse, but on the numerous instances of bullshit that have plagued this game over the last two years. I've had enough of Bungie. I encourage everyone who've had repeated complaints about Bungie's handling of this game to really think about this: Do you really believe, as things stand now, that the future holds anything different? Just say 'no' to Destiny 2.
-
you should have a chance each day of turning in a bag of candy and getting a treasure box, only 1 per day by chance, getting one for each character is for the whole event is kind of stingy bungie.
-
Problem are the idiots spending 50$ or more for this shit. Why should bungie bring back old raids if they could just release 10 cosmetic items and make tons of money? Why?
-
Edited by grrrund: 10/30/2016 12:59:59 PMHell-divers does it right. Hell-divers. Seems easy for them. I'll bet they are making plenty of money too.
-
5 RepliesWe just need to know that the money is being put to good use. (New graphics engine, STORY, more weapons, more events...) As long as the game changes over time, we need to be able to say, "My $10 worth of Silver helped make that."
-
Once I hit 400 bye bye destiny, nothing new to keep the grind interesting

Why did everyone expect so much from a much much smaller DLC than TTK? The taken king was where destiny got revamped in a great way, swords, new supers, an actual new place, killing a god and that raid being huge compared. The story was much much bigger and the voice acting (Nathan Fillion FTW) was much better than the monotone Saladin. What did everyone expect? There will be no 2 more DLCs like Year 1 did. It'll be like TTK, these measly mini dlc events and the April update increasing your light a little and adding a new trials emblem, whilst revamping the Nexus. And that'll be it. Why is everyone expecting something great when we all bought into this tiny dlc that could pass off as a Crota 2.0, but at least Year 1 had 2 DLCs.

microtransaction front but our goal is to absolutely make sure that when we deliver a game for $60 that’s a great experience no matter what type of player you are," he said. "So we’re not looking at any pay-for-power type stuff. That’s what I hear as a player when people say they’re worried about models and schemes that nickel and dime people; we’re not going to do that."
