Apparently this guy and people like him don't understand how rules work. I bet they think this is proof of election rigging by Hillary.
lol.
Brett Bartlett Mauthe arrived at his Texas polling place Monday morning ready to vote.
It was the first day of early voting in Bulverde, a tiny town 30 minutes north of San Antonio.
On his head he wore a hat supporting GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, Mauthe told KSAT 12 News. His T-shirt read “basket of deplorables,” a reference to a comment Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton made about Trump’s supporters.
Mauthe was stopped before he could cast his ballot.
According to the election code, not just in Texas but in many other jurisdictions across the country, campaigning for or promoting a political candidate within a designated space around a polling place is prohibited. In Comal County, that’s 100 feet. The crime is electioneering, reported the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung, a class C misdemeanor.
Mauthe was asked by poll workers to remove the Trump hat, and he complied, the man told KSAT 12 News. But when they asked him to turn his “deplorables” T-shirt inside out, he refused.
“He wanted to take a stand,” Bulverde Police Chief Gary Haecker told the Herald-Zeitung. “Unfortunately, he was arrested.”
3 RepliesEdited by iFatum: 10/31/2016 2:31:06 PMTo deny me the right to vote is to deny me my right as an American. (And if guns get banned at all... I moving to Texas. Just try and take them from them Texans)

Good.
-
3 RepliesRemember its ok for the Black panthers to intimidate you into voting Democrat but by no means is Trump aparrel allowed
-
4 RepliesOther sources said he was unaware of the rule, as were most of the voters. And when he was asked to remove the hat he did, but was not comfortable with stripping his shirt off to satisfy a nonsensical law.

21 RepliesWhen Hillary says the system is rigged, she is a pioneer of wisdom, and a perfect president. When Trump does it he is called an attention seeking prat. When Hillary calls over half of America deplorable she gets off Scots free, but when Trump calls Hillary a disgusting lady, he's a misogynistic bigot When Hillary sends our people to die in Iraq and Benghazi, she is merely doing what is right. When Trump says he wants good relations with Russia and the Middle East, he's a war mongering ape. When Hillary commits treason she is forgiven When Trump is exercising his freedom of speech, he gets socially shamed

9 Repliesweird... yet candidates can flood all of the media trying to get our vote yet the actual voters cannot wear anything that promotes the same thing? if your opinion changes because you see someone wearing a shirt about the election, you should not be allowed to vote. and last I checked... freedom of speech/press should override this "election code"

15 RepliesNot to mention this gem about a Trump supporter being arrested for voter fraud. A bit ironic considering the rhetoric. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/crime-and-courts/2016/10/28/voter-fraud-suspect-arrested-des-moines/92892042/

1 ReplyEdited by Lordsa Jar-Jar: 10/29/2016 5:05:42 AMI'd say if people want to campaign at these polls then that's fine, pretty sure everyone has already made up their mind about who their going to vote for before they get there. I get why they have this legislation in place, but nitpicking like this is absurd. Well, that's America for ya. I wonder if the same would happen if they were supporting Clinton?
-
1 ReplyYet if they wore a stronger together it would be fine because capital D baby! That's all that matters!
-
Broke the law. Nothing to see here.
-
You already gave them your hat, why not just flip the shirt?
-
Sounds like a stupid law. I mean, no harm done, as far as I'm concerned. Worst part is that I'd be willing to bet that this law is most often enforced when it's an average joe conservative or a Republican, but not when it's a celebrity or a liberal/Democrat.
-
13 RepliesJustin Timberlake broke the law when voting too, but he didn't arrested. Guess who he was voting for?
It was Hillary
-
18 RepliesI don't understand, what damage did he do? :)

20 RepliesLiberals talking about following the rules of an election. That's funny.

Edited by EggenOG: 10/30/2016 1:48:18 AMHope I don't get arrested because my Halloween mask is trump.
i have a hoodie over it, had to change it from Obama because I thought it would've been racist
8 RepliesMeanwhile, Hillary's lying ass just screwed her chances of winning by doing what.....lying as usual
-
Meanwhile if you read the entire thing you'd find out it was quite civil and the man did not know he was in the wrong.
-
Haha land of the free....
-
That is stupid. You should be allowed to support who you want to. -blam!-ing smothering of free speech going on here.
-
trumptards, when will they learn?
-
5 RepliesWho cares about this crap when there's video evidence on YouTube of Soros voting machines switching votes from trump or Johnson to Clinton. Now THATS an issue
-
As a Texan I'm offended...by something. Something is definitely offending me right now.
-
9 RepliesSo you can't wear a deplorables shirt... But hey your voting for dead people? Come right in
-
