We have all been there. 8-0. You don't have a mercy anymore. It's the final match aaaaaaand... you face a crazy good, clutch, paid carrier/streamer. It happened to me last night.
I propose that we simply separate people who have gone flawless that week and people who have not yet gone flawless. This would remove the problem of going against paid carriers who carry a million people through every weekend.
Lets get this trending so that Bungie will add this into the game!
Edit: I do not want an easy one way ticket to the lighthouse. I want a challenge. But I do not want to go against people who literally charge noobs to go be carried to the lighthouse.
Edit 2: Maybe Bungie could add a system where the truly elite could get exclusive shaders or emblems, maybe even different gear with better perks.
Edit 3: Right now, with all these streamers and carriers, Trials is simply TOO difficult. I don't want it to be easy, but I think that I should be able to experience a part of a game I paid $60, plus all the dlc. They should still make it elite, just not to the point where if you haven't gone to the lighthouse ever, you're kicked from people's fireteams. And definitely not to the point where people are charged $40 -blam-ing dollars to be carried! Stop saying "get good", because I am good, but I keep facing off against -blam-ing streamers and carriers! That is simply not fair! THEY LITERALLY CHARGE PEOPLE TO BE CARRIED!
Edit 4: For those who say that this will not fix the problem because people could just reset cards, there are ways to fix it. Personally, I think they could add a limit to how many tickets you can buy everyway, such as maybe 3 a day.
And also, why is it bad for non-elite players to enjoy Trials? I want to face people of equal skill, more or less. Adding this system would make it so that I would not have to face streamers or carriers as much as I do now! It would still be challenging because there are so many people out there who don't go flawless multiple times a week! It would still be elite, just not impossible. There is a bit of a misunderstanding. I want it to be difficult. Not impossible or rage-inducing.

Major flaw to three cards a day, players like me who don't care about trials, it's a broken system, only look forward to completing bounties and collecting the rewards. I've had too many lobbies of RedBar Warriors to even care about trials anymore.

43 RepliesBump. I'd like to see a system where once a Guardian has gone flawless, that Guardian is ineligible for Trials for the rest of the week. But, by going flawless, the Guardian is now eligible for the weekly Champions Tier, where flawless battle flawless for bragging rights and uniquely badass shaders, emblems, ornaments and ships.

2 RepliesI get it.. you want something you can't have, it's only human but the lighthouse isn't made for below average players. Bungie has made this clear many times so relax ... get better at the game and keep trying :) P.S this idea is dumb, guy gud

2 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 10/26/2016 7:01:39 AMExcept it isn't impossible. The streamers and veterans aren't gods. They're people. If you can't topple them, then that's on you. You essentially ARE asking Trials to be easy, which it shouldn't be. There should rightfully be an extremely challenging aspect of Destiny, and that's ToO. Besides, your plan falls flat on its face when people who do paid/stream carries simply chuckle, shrug their shoulders, and get a fresh card before helping their partners go flawless.

8 RepliesI agree with this post. Trials is a bunch of bullshit. Tryhards every game and then its back to the reef to reset again! People who say kd is super important are just stupid. Kd only proves you get more kills then deaths. Doesnt prove how good you are at all.

4 RepliesSo people who beat the raid should not be able to play with people who haven't beat the raid yet?

Edited by XenoWraith: 10/25/2016 11:53:30 PMYou run into the problem of everyone going flawless. Trials should have you facing off with people within your tier (bronze, silver, etc). However for this to be effective some things need to happen. Remove passage coins and boons (seriously why are there boons to begin with?) Move one time rewards from 5 and 7 to 7 and 9 (with 9-0 being flawless and essentially getting double rewards). Wins 7 and 9 reward current year trials according to tier. Players below the highest starting tier will always play against those 1-4 tiers higher compared to the highest tiered player. So if you are a bronze 1 and everyone on your team is bronze 1, then the highest you'll face is a silver 1 team. However if you are a bronze 1 and someone is a platinum 3, you will face platinum players. Highest tier players will play based on their tier and one tier below (platinum vs platinum, platinum vs gold) Changing the participation bounties to only award legendary marks Gold tier 2+ flawless will award adept versions of each weapon only (if theres a tier inbetween gold and the highest then I'll adjust or what not). So basically only those at the highest tiers will get the adept gold versions. Also Emblems and shaders on flawless runs only will be awarded according to tier; green for bronze to silver 1, blue for silver 2 to gold 2, purple for gold 3 to platinum highest tier. Same for shaders. Ships will be awarded starting at gold tier 1. Sparrows will also be awarded at the same tier as ships (like before if there is a tier inbetween gold and platinum or whatever is thr highest I'll adjust.) Old reward trials gear will drop randomly (and at a low rate). Instead of fixed perks, perks on weapons will be up to RNG and will be weighted according to tier on win 9. Flawless tier wins will see a higher chance of a decent to god roll weapon depending on tier. So at platinum tier, the chance for the really good perks are much higher compared to the bronze tier. Shutting out 3 teams in a row will immediately put you in the next trophy tier. If you shut out 3 teams within your range 3 times straight as a bronze 1, you will start your next at silver 1 instead of bronze 2 or 3. Getting shut out 3 times in a row will send you back a tier at the highest level. So if you're a silver 3 and you got shut out 3 matches in a row, welcome to bronze 3. You will go no lower than a bronze 3 after making silver tier. Tiers will reset after 1yr of starting (dlc release/new game) Cards will not be deleted before card completion with either 3 losses, 9 wins, or end of Tournament. Intentionally suiciding to alter your tier will be flagged for inspection by Bungie. If found of intentionally rigging your tier, you face the next weekend banned from trials. If a second offense occurs, you will be banned for the current month and the next month from trials. Third offense will be a perma ban from trials and these are account bans. As you can see here, this is a structured tournament with rewards for both winning your tier (whether it be bronze, silver, gold, platinum) and going flawless, however only the best will get the shiny gold and awesome stuff at the highest tier. Also, the matches will be more interesting. Now I'm not saying this is the way to fix trials but if trials was designed to be a tournament, it currently is at a very sad state and is no where near to what a tournament is.

1 ReplyWon't happen. The high ups at bungie have gone on record recently saying it's for the absolute elite.

7 RepliesEdited by iFatum: 10/24/2016 10:33:04 PMBump! I faced a cheating group on their 65th win no loss, they had aim bots for sure as well took no elemental damag, 4.2 kds... It was bogus
-
2 RepliesSo what you're saying is that if I go flawless by beating good players I should get the same loot as you who faces far lower competition. Yeah no. Ive been 8-0 all the time, instead of complaining I reset the card and try again. The fact that so many scrubs vote to punish good players is a very strong testament to the entitlement players on this game feel its honestly pathetic.

1 ReplyTRIALS IS FOR THE ELITE ONLY, GIT GUD SCRUB

15 RepliesEdited by KannibalKlown: 10/25/2016 1:55:16 PMIt's not a horrible request. I don't demand it, but I don't see "why not" For the people that say "If you want to play Trials then you should be prepared to fight the best" Well, let's take that a step further. If that's your stance, then shouldn't the "Best" want to face off against the other "Best" to see who is supreme? Like a "Tiered" Trials?

38 RepliesI will just delete my ticket at 8 wins to keep kerb stomping people like you crying for a hand out. This generation is all self entitles babies, cry me a river kiddo and get good!

As with any game you can experience parts of the game as you complete the game, if your team isnt good enough to go flawless then you dont deserve to go flawless and get the loot. When u say it shouldnt be elite to where youll be kicked from other peoples fireteams for never reaching the lighthouse, in yr1 it used to be the same with pve. If you didnt have a maxed out gally then noone would take you. Should they have made activites like crota and skolas easier? No. So get good because clearly your not. Also not everyone who carries gets payed, just sayin.
-
No, that would make it easier to make it to the lighthouse.
-
1 ReplyThe solution is simple. Make an even higher tier reward for people who can go flawless again after getting into that bracket. Completely agree though that once you go flawless, you should only face others who have also.
-
3 Repliessimply wont work. people who are carrying will leave a character and keep wiping the card before 9 wins. so your plan wont work
-
1 ReplySo basically you guys want an extremely easy flawless run? Lol gg
-
1 ReplyIt won't work. Anyone carrying people will just not buy the boons, reset at 8 wins, and continue to stomp people in the lower playlist. This is not a new idea.
-
Why would you separate the competition? Why do you want to go to the lighthouse? Why do you think you deserve the same rewards as the players that are better than you? Stop whining and get good.
-
Personally I think it should match you with people near the same light level as your highest light teammate
-
Nah. Keep it the way it is. It's a reward meant to be earnt so just leave it be.
i suck at PvP so when I do make a flawless run, it'll be because I got gud
-
What happens when a team consists of one person who's gone flawless and 2 that haven't?
-
I think u need to have it more complex then what ur proposing. A team where everyone in that team has gone flawless should go against other teams where everyone has gone flawless. This way carries can still happen
-
6 RepliesNope. Dont need to water down trials for weak players. The lighthouse is not meant for everyone. Just because u participate doesnt mean u get a trophy
-
2 RepliesSo you want to restrict people access to content to make it easier for yourself. Like said you came across crazy good players who happen to be streamers, the only thing that stop you winning was your own skill, nothing else. Also abit of information for you there are more better players than most streamers.
