Tired of always facing super elite guys in trials, I have yet to be placed in a match against players that are of similar non-elite status, we get smoked every round, game after game. I get it they are better, but some of us have jobs and families, we don't have 5000 hrs a week to devote to getting to the lighthouse. Need to balance that crap out

Trials is just not your thing, PvP in general, spicy 0.5 KD.

If they simply made SBMM work the way it was intended, then going flawless wouldn't be a problem, but matchmaking is simply broken:( I still go flawless, but its becoming increasingly harder.
-
19 RepliesYes, it is a problem. They need to go to a level system like iron banner. Trials should not be for just the elite or those willing to pay the elite. For many trials has become a business, and it needs to end. Bungie needs to stop bowing to streamers, and make it fair to the rest of us. It was good, once. Now trials is broken, because of all the cheating, lagging, hacking and pay trips. Put an end to people making money off trials, we all paid the same for the game and should have access to all the game!!!!
-
18 RepliesTrials is pay to win, it's Bungie's way of rewarding streamers for free advertising. Streamers do nothing but play trials going flawless over and over again so normal players can't play, for them it's a job not a game, and they work hard to keep normal people from whining so they can force as many people to pay as possible
-
1 ReplyBump. But it will be a difficult transition. It's like blaming them for being good. I mean that's what trials is about right? It's a place for pvp's best of the best. But somehow, I kinda agree with you. Bungie might lower the loot version though, like hard mode trials and normal trials?
-
It seems totally random, and while I have always been a believer that you only will get better at something by practice, and by playing those better than you,be it a video game,basketball,poker....whatever involves competition, but damn, the randomness of trials could benefit from some better matchmaking. Last weekend with 2 and 3 losses on a ticket we matched up to flawless teams both games, with only our one win boon on the ticket and me with the best stats and ELO at an average level at best playing top pvp guys in the beginning of the card seems off...I know they like to have fast matchmaking and matchmaking speed seems to be a big factor, getting people playing ASAP,sure, that works for the best players, but us average guys/gals would gladly wait 5 mins for a more balanced match.

9 RepliesEdited by Droid: 10/20/2016 2:28:28 PMKeep this in mind, if you're getting upset about it. Trials was created for the pvp part of the community that could not/wouldn't do nightfall or raids Because.... well.... you know. ... if the pvp elitists aren't happy and getting their way. No one is. Just keep in mind trials was created because it's a lot easier to shoot an opponent in crucible, than function in a raid. Simply put. They couldn't hang. So bungie made them something to feel better about themselves. Keep this in mind, if you're getting upset about it. So bungie made them something to feel better about themselves. edit Let me clear the air here before anymore elitists wanna-be's decide to get Smart. I came to destiny for the pve content. At that time, crucible was just a bonus. Before destiny I played cod and halo competitively. I came to destiny to get away from that, as it was getting stale, and every year, there was more and more wanna-be's. "What's your point?" You might be saying. My point is that Trials is not competitive. Say what you want. But I can go through a whole trials card and not have to actually try, communicate, and 'make plays' until the seventh win mark. So, three games? WOW!!! trials is so competitive lol. None of this elitists talk came to be until trials released. Now, just like every other game, every year, more and more of you wanna-be's show up. Talking smack like you know the game. When all it takes is a simple trials report to show that your just an average player..... like me. The difference is, however, that I don't act like I'm a god at crucible, and that my brain functions well enough to tell the trials isn't competitive. Yeah, it's rough for the AVERAGE PLAYER, someone with no background of team based pvp. But to the majority of the pvp base, it's not hard. BECAUSE YOU HAVE THAT EXPERIENCE Now. To The pvp elitist. Stop acting like children, attacking everyone who complains about trials. They just don't understand. The fact still remains however, that Trials was created for you pvp players who couldnt/wouldn't do nightfall and raids. Those are facts. That have been posted by bungie, here, on this site. Not in those words of course. But I remember during the vog days when everyone I played with was rocking the highest, strongest gear from vog. Then once iron banner released everyone who only played pvp, and never a pve endgame activity, cried about them not being leveled because there wasn't an endgame pvp activity every week. Thus, when HoW dropped, trials was born. So, attack me now? Am I the only one remembering those days? Am I the only one remembering that during y1, everyone was crying about it? Can't remember a year ago? Your lives must be chaotic.

yes please.

2 RepliesI literally couldn't care less about people beating me because there better but being killed because my opponents are using the best connection they can afford whilst on the dole living under the sea In a led lined 12inch cement walled radiation bunker, whilst I pay for the best on the market and suffer because of the latency that causes.... That riles me big. I can learn to get better but I can not change my opponents connection

2 RepliesIm not an elitist im no pro player i dont sink 5000 hours a week into destiny and i go flawless. Difference? I dont cry on forums when i lose. Why should bungie punish people who took time to get good at trials so that people (who claim theyre too busy to practice but apparently arnt too busy to cry on forums) can get easy runs.

My first match of trials with a few friends, we were all starting a fresh card, and guess what? We lost to 2 victorious players and 1 being carried.
-
8 RepliesFor me, it's a matter of having no-one to play with. Everyone's commenting that "me and my team are average... and we go to the lighthouse etc" My problem is that I can't find a group of people to play with consistently, or just a decent group to chill with in the crucible. My stats are screwed because I was crap in y1, and didn't care tbh, now my stats are meh, and I have no one to go with/play with. I'm pretty decent, if SBMM is true I always get matchmaked against people with scarab/flawless emblems and I always do really well and even beat them. I just can't find anyone and don't tell me to go to lfg, I've tried many a time and it's hell to sum it up, all my raids and other PvE activities are off lfg though so yeah. I'm trying to find a clan so hopefully that goes well and I get some guys I can play with regularly and dont ditch me lol.

10 RepliesHave a flawless playlist where you can enter after reaching flawless. If anyone on your team has been lighthouse they can't play in the normal playlist. The flawless playlist gives better cosmetic gear and more flawless ornaments.
-
Go suck a pencil, why could you nerf fusions, nerf side arms you pineapple
-
They nerfed 3oC(1 in 50 chance in my experience), made strikes pretty much useless after 390(low key drop rate) and banner is only once a month. So trials is being forced upon anyone that wants to get to 400 if you do not want to raid. Drop rates have sucked in crucible and, for me at least, 7 nightfalls in a row I have gotten 3oC or strange coins as a reward. I've run 6 hours of strikes, 2 hours of the forge and opened 10 packages and I have yet to see a ghost or artifact since last update. So, get your sweats on! Trials is up in a couple days, so the elite should have plenty of canon fodder!

Git gud

The only issue I have with trials is when a team leaves right after they win and causes a tie. If you don't need the wins don't get on just to ruin someone's passage. But generally it's not that bad getting to 7 wins and getting the armor, weapon and gold bounty done. And I've never been 9 and 0

Edited by MickleMackleMor: 10/19/2016 10:52:49 PMI just would like to stop trading, trading is probably the gayest thing ever. (When I say trading I mean like I slide shotty him kill him but he gets lucky kills me same time) that pretty much destroys trails and pvp for me even though I'm a huge trials fan and pvp fan.

I feel like a very accurate skill based matchmaking would fix this, easily. Based upon connection, location, and Overall KD would make the matches fair. P.S. There's only 168 hours in a week.
-
23 RepliesWow. So do you want your free flawless loot gift wrapped? Please, stop. Trials is the "elite seperation". Only the best win. That ONLY seperation, if any, is to make those who went flawless to play against others who went flawless, but what you want would make Trials completely counterintuitive. I don't say this often, but here it's accurate. Git gud.

4 RepliesAll the comments about this guys k/d shows that their should be a bracket system. The better you get the harder players you go against

3 RepliesI love trials and suck ass at it. Sure it's frustrating losing but it's end game pvp content it's supposed to attract the best of the best. That's the whole point. That's what's wrong with this world. Always trying to accommodate ppl that want more than they work for.
-
Its not supposed to be easy, if you cant handle it then have fun with you weekly armor and gun drops ;P

5 RepliesI would tend to agree. There is however one major problem with your suggestion, and it is the reason it will never be implemented... Same reason skill / KD based mm will never be implemented in that playlist: If all the trials "scrubs" like you, me and many on this thread and the "pros" were kept is separate "leagues" it would be that much harder (read near impossible) for most of the pros / streamers etc to actually make it flawless... It's easy enough to win 7 or 8 matches in a row vs people that are way below your level. And it's tough enough to consistently win several matches in a row vs equally skilled teams (in Trials or any other playlist). If pro streamers faced pro streamers match after match for 9 matches in a row (as opposed to matches 7 and onwards), the success rate would be considerably reduced. The reason a "bunch" of players go flawless every week / multiple times a week is because there are way more scrubs playing (read acting as "flawless fodder") thanks to bounties. That's all. If the pros that can carry 1 or 2 scrubs and still get flawless only played vs equally skilled teams 100% of the time there would, statistically be a very very small number of teams that would make it to the lighthouse each week. It would essentially turn it into an MLG type thing, and most sweats would stop bothering after a while if they could no longer quasi-systematically guarantee carries or secure wins with a hand up their ass

I've only went to lighthouse 3 times in year two
