Should Xűr sell exotic shards again?
I'm low on shards so I made this to maybe have it happen...
Edit1: if you're just going to come in here and tell me about the kiosk thing then don't say anything about it. My point is that Xűr sold them for 7 strange coins but decided to stop, hopefully he gets them back in stock.

Yes, I've just been stuck at about 8-10 shards, I've had to stop infusing exotics because of how exspensive it is, if he's not going to sell them then infusion shouldn't require exotic shards, this literally forces you to dismantle the exotics you get even if they're higher light.

I had upwards of 150 at one point but its been real tough upgrading exotics lately 😒

Most definitely, especially since the only way to keep using your favourite exotics are to level them up and infuse them, they can become quiet scarce. I used to have 20 from dismantling duplicates, but in order to keep using my Void Fang Vestimates I have to infuse it which cost exotic shards. And now since light level is so high and I suck at Crucible and raids, I only have about 5 left to spare.

Am I the only one with exotic shards still? I feel like a see these posts a lot and I don't understand how people can run out of them.

No. It's cheaper to get an exotic rocket from the kiosk, put 8 motes in it, and dismantle, giving you 2 back.

Just follow these simple steps. 1. equip class item that increases experience for a heavy weapon, rockets or MG doesn't matter. If you don't have one, buy a heavy telemetry from the gunsmith 2. Buy exotic heavy from the kiosk for 2500 glimmer and 1 shard 3. equip heavy, spend 6 motes of light to max it out 4. Break down the heavy, get a few motes and 2 Shards Net profit: 1 shard Net cost: 2500 glimmer and 3 or 4 motes Your welcome. Edit: don't waste your SC on exotics from xur, SC are for 3oc and heavy. Remember hard raid drops 10/18 with a light increase, heavy for factions will help you prepare. [spoiler]not sure why people have a hard time figuring this out[/spoiler]

So that's 15 shards give or take a week you can get from buying exotics and dismantling them. You can also go buy any exotic heavy at the kiosk level it up and dismantle it and that will give you +1 exotic shard.

2 RepliesI had 25 when RoI dropped and now down to 4 :( Resorting to buying gear from Xur and dismantling it at this point :D Think it's one of those things that you are always low on at the start of a DLC because you are levelling stuff but then have excess of within a few months.

Pop a heavy weapon upgrade synth and infuse it with 6 motes of light. Dismantle it and it will give you 2 exotic shards and 3 motes of light back. The whole things costs you 1 exotic shard, 3 motes of light and 2500 glimmer
