Bungie. What. The. F*ck
You changed the nightfall. WHY? People have had an entire YEAR to do ONE nightfall on the dreadnaught. You could make the argument that you just want everyone the chance to get the moments of triumph, but there's a reason they're called moments of triumph. They are SUPPOSED to be difficult.
I'm especially pissed off because you're punishing players that have played since the release of Taken King relatively consistently for the failures of those who dropped your game after a few weeks of taken King and only just picked it up again for Rise of Iron. I thought the Iron Lords that you hold so dear are supposed to be LOYAL.
My other, more personal, reason for being mad, is that I have NEVER gotten ANY of the psion flayer cloaks to drop. I've got 21 completions of dust palace. 15 of those were last time dust palace was nightfall trying to farm for the cloaks. I was going to farm again tonight until I got them but Shield Brother's loot is useless to me.
EDIT: it's been a few hours since I've posted this so now I must make a PSA: never go full salt. I posted this immediately after hearing about the change and am leaving it unchanged as a reminder.

i've played the -blam!- out of this game, and i dont care that people are getting to catch up. It doesnt negatively impact anybody; in fact, it's better bc it keeps the community together and extends the full destiny experience to as many people as possible

If I remember correctly I heard in one of the streams that there's going to be a chest at the end of the strikes that can be opened with a key, the chest is suposed to contain that strike's strike specific gear.

5 Replies1. You should have done your nightfalls on reset. 2. Last time Dust Palace was nightfall, Flayer mantles were bugged and not dropping so you were wasting your time. 3. You can get the mantles to drop on any difficulty. 4. You've ALSO had AN ENTIRE YEAR to farm for these any other time it was the nightfall. 5. With the new key and chest system that's being added to strikes, it will be much easier for you to get the mantles. 6. Stop complaining just because something doesn't benefit you. I'm sure there are people out there who are very thankful that the nightfall changed to Shield Bros. You're mad because you didn't get the cosmetic item you wanted, but others are finally completing their MoT. 7. Eat a Snickers, you're not you when you're hungry.

I think, they also wanted to give players a chance to complete their MoT, who had a ton of playtime on old gen and upgraded recently. A good move combined with CoO rotating and all raid challenges active IMO.

1 ReplyAnnoyed me too but i realized its a reset thing. Literally ANY time the game world reboots via maint, resets, unexpected downtimes, etc the nightfall will reboot and change. Just for future reference

1 ReplyReal reason it was changed is due to Dust Palace being quarantined. This is a source of the virus everyone is getting.

I like that they did it almost. I didn't even realize that a fragment that I needed was only obtainable by completing a dreadnought nightfall until it was this week. The fact that I have a chance to get it now is good and if I don't complete my MoT it's completely my fault. So stop being so salty, and let the people who took a break because of the content hole get their MoT done. The fact is, I don't care about your salt.

I think it was nice of them to make all the challenges active and change the nightfall. MoT doesn't mean much, just something nice to say you have. Heck my friends and I have been giving away our t-shirt codes to people that can't get a code themselves since we didn't want the shirt anyways.

It's true we all had a year to do the dreadnaught nightfall, the tier three court of oryx and a little less time to do all the challenge modes. But all of the year one triumphs could be completed at any time, all the way up to the final day. You could conceivably have picked up the game a week before the end of year one and completed them. This is just giving people one last chance to do it.
